Hello folks, I've still new to this vaping thing. Started with it less than two weeks ago, and am down to 1-3 analogs per day at the moment. After much lurking and researching, I tried out some of the WTA liquid from Aroma, and it's really improved my enjoyment. Going to have to buy some more of that stuff :).

A couple of questions...I've been using a basic Evod (which apparently I overpaid for, but whatever). I'm going to hit a few B&M's this weekend on an out-of-town road trip. I'm seeing soo many different devices, and lots of people singing their praises. Can anybody recommend a few brands I should consider picking up as an upgrade to this Evod? I don't need anything fancy (yet :D), but would like something with a bit more power behind it.

Also, in regards to the Evod, about how often would I need to replace the coil? How can I tell it's time to replace it?

I'm certain I'll think of more questions after a while. Thanks in advance for any guidance anybody can offer me!

The Eleaf iSticks are currently very affordable and popular. These are regulated "mods" or advanced personal vaporizers with long battery life, adjustable power (variable wattage), and use a USB charging cord like a cell phone or iPod. Be aware that these may have some issues.

An upgrade to those would be an Innokin MVP(2 or 3) with the same features, but using a better processing chip for a smoother vape. Innokin is also a well-established company with a good track record.

As a beginning vaper, I'd shy away from recommendations for a "mech" or mechanical mod. These are basically just battery holder tubes or boxes. They have none of the safety features (processor circuitry) that a regulated mod has, which I feel is very important for a new vaper. You can't adjust the power. And you will need to buy external batteries and a charger...added expenses.

You're using a clearomizer tank. There are scores of options here. I'll recommend the Aspire Nautilus as the top tank prior to getting into rebuildable tanks (where you make your own coils and wicks).

Aspire, iStick, Sigelei, IPV, MVP, VaporShark, Vision Spinner... There are so many.

You change your coil (atomizer) when the flavor and vapor production are reduced. This usually takes about a week. You can extend the life of an atomizer by cleaning it, either by rinsing it under water or letting it soak in Everclear/cheap vodka. A little dry burning will help too, but only if its a silica wick.

Im also realitively new to this.... i started with the Aspire Nautilus Mini and that worked ok for me. Although i had it set up on the Aspire cf vv battery. I have since upgraded and like alot of others said i have the istick 50w and i got an Aspire Atlantis tank. I would recommend starting off with the nautilus mini and the istick 50w and vaoe at about 10 watts. Then when you are ready to blow bugger clouds upgrade to a sub ohm tank.

That doesn't sound like overpaying to me!

With all the good products available now, just pick one and go with it, you'll enjoy it!!!

So, to follow up on my initial postings, I ended up purchasing an ELeaf IStick 30W, along with an Aspire Atlantis tank. Might have been a bit much power for my experience level, but I'm now a sub-ohm vaper, whether I need to be or not, haha.

The juices that I had purchased are all 24mg, so I am forced to go very lightly on the ELeaf power. Currently at about 11W with full airflow, and liking the throat hit and lung volume. With WTA in the juices, I have ZERO desire for an analog, and have not smoked in just over a week!

Best flavor, IMO, has been the G.I Joe from Aroma. Very smooth, nice flavor. I also have some Vanilla Splash and some RY4. I opened the Vanilla this morning and filled the tank (with a new coil). I noticed a strong flavor of woodyness with the vanilla, almost like burning wood. Perhaps I need to let this juice steep for a bit? Also, my observation is that the high VG Vanilla Splash didn't go as far as the higher PG G.I. Joe. Are my eyes correct? Seems the tank level dropped much more quickly with the VG liquid.

Overall, loving the experience! Nice mod and tank, tasty juice, the freedom to get my fix wherever and whenever, and NO desire to smoke.
