New Guy With My Joye 510

Hello - my first post:
My Joye 510 starter kit arrived today from E-Cigarette Mart in China. It took a week to arrive at 30 dollars postage. I like this manual battery better than a PureSmoke automatic I bought at a local smoke shop.

For my 510, I also got empty cartridges and US Blend (Marlboro? anyone know?) and Coffee liquid. I charged it up, put a pre-filled High Nicotine in first but the flavor was not labeled. It tasted like my menthol from the PureSmoke, worked great. - side note: PureSmoke starter kit "Full Flavor" cartridge tasted strange and plasticky. Their other starter kit is called Menthol. I thought it may have been that PureSmoke had run out of Full Flavor and ripped me off by packing a non-flavored cartridge in it.- So any way, on my 510, I dripped 15 drops of US Blend directly from the bottle into the polyfill of an empty cartridge. It vaped fine, lotsa vapor. Yet, from the Marl/US Blend there was little to no flavor I could tell. Had I filled the cartridge correctly? Truth be told I had bought a pack of "real" Marl Menthol 72's and smoked those after I was unsatisfied with the PureSmoke. Maybe my tastebuds and nose need to recover?

After that, I filled another, the same way, with Coffee flavor and I can taste the coffee just fine. ...your thoughts?

Congratulations and welcome Pushing50!!! I'll leave the questions for someone more experienced but I can tell you this, after a couple of weeks of vaping the smell of an analog makes me sick! I never thought I would say that because no matter how long I quit I always loved the smell.

Hang in...someone will answer your questions. :)

Pushin50 do yourself a favor and don't waste any more money purchasing from overseas again. You could have bought a complete Joye510 kit for $35 plus $5 for shipping at Cignot.com.

Be sure to do lots of reading and searching on this forum to find where members purchase all their needs such as parts and e-juice. It will save you a lot of money.

Thank you. This is a very active forum, replies within the hour, great! Also, I am actually an hour from an "analog" and not craving one!

I have to agree with Shortstuff 100%!

It's all good. When the market gets bigger the Chinese will learn to compete, or just ship domestically like they do on EBay. The question of price is subjective to me. Hopefully the competition will improve no matter what country I order from. I am glad for the fast service the supplier gave me. I have checked out Cignot and found their selection to be a lot smaller than others. I liked the juice I did not mention from NHaler, esp. Black Cow.

hello welcome to ecf.you will find answers here.im not sure what you did but just try a few drops on your atomizer and see,if it works then youve filled your cartridge wrong.

Well I don't think I ruined anything but I later saw someone's video to put a toothpick down the side, and only 8 drops, not 15 for a 510 cartridge. Then I got creative and found a plastic twist tie and folded a channel into it for the juice and took my time dripping it in. It worked OK.

Hello!

I have to agree with Shortstuff and GoodDog - cignot is awesome, got my stuff in 4 days -and I have 2 more orders on the way. They go to great lengths to answer questions, make suggestions, and resolve problems, promptly! Even before you order if you have any questions they will happily help you out. They carry a good selection of flavors and they just added a brand new product as well.

I'm new to this too, but I can say that it may take a little time finding the e-liquid that "fits" you just right. I'm 11 days analog free and as I rotate through my e-liquid sample sizes, I can taste A LOT more than I did the first few days.

That said, as a menthol smoker, I still crave and need that menthol kick and I did discover my favorite menthol e-liquid. It's my all around "vape all day liquid" that satisfies me and completely eliminates any cravings I may have.

I'm loving my 510 and it didn't take all that long for me to figure out how to stuff the carts, fill them and even drip directly onto the atty when I really want or need instant gratification. I'm still in the learning curve, but it sure is fun to play around with this stuff!

I'm sure it won't take you long at all to feel like a "pro" as far as refilling your carts, etc. Trial and error, some patience and you'll figure out what works for you.

There is so much information on these boards! I still find myself spending too much of my free time reading, learning and absorbing everything here!

:)

I'm a newbie too! My experience ... on day four (today) for the first time, I am able to actually 'taste' the flavored juices. Yay! Return of senses does happen! :)

Thank you for the encouragement. I had been of cigs for three weeks when I got the PureSmoke and was able to taste NHaler Black Cow with it but PureSmoke seemed to get quite hot. I stopped using it, smoked cigs again then the 510 arrived. I will be patient.

..and not to mention, more importantly, it will save you probably a LOT of aggravation/hassle.

I haven't even got my kit yet (ordered from CigNot a few hours ago) but I'm impressed with this forum community and the US retailers reccomended by the members herein.

Welcome Pushin50! For me 50 just pushed back this last fall, and my body and lungs feel like I'm in my 30s again. I also use the 510, but quickly got into DIY, since I am sensitive to PG, and...well...I like to cook! And being a chemist, mixing up VG juices is just plain fun, and I can vape exactly what I want and fine tune it easily.

As for learning curves, I don't think the learning curve for PVs ever ends. Especially with the 510, which is very modable, there is always something to try to make it even better...and it is really great right out of the box!

And if your biggest mistake was to initially pay $30 too much for shipping, you are doing great for a new vaper. Many here get roped into an expensive ripoff brand at the mall, only to trash it and buy a good PV, wasting often 100s of dollars. I was in that camp, so I think you are doing fine...but I agree with the others, lots of great US suppliers that have fast and cheaper shipping, and low prices. A little digging here will uncover vendors with a bewildering variety of juices and hardware. Look at the list of vendors when you scroll down on the ECF home page. Each have their own forum and links to their sites. But perhaps you have discovered this already.

Vape on! Enjoy your 510!
