Hey all just posting my "hi im new here" post. So my set up is the metro e-cigs you can buy at the local gas station. I would move on to bigger and better but being a truck driver i have to settle for what i can find. I tried the Blu e-cigs and was vastly disappointed. Then gave the metros a try and was very pleased though anything was better then the blu. I guess my quest here is to get the most out of the metros and maybe learn how to do diy e juice. Anyways thats me. Its good to be here.

Hey Doc

I am personally not familiar with the Metro's but I do diy and learned everything I know in the DIY subforum here (along with a bunch of youtube vids (never just watch one on the subject - watch as many as you can and go with the procedures that are duplicated the most)

and welcome to the ECF

Welcome to the Forum, Dr. Quantum,

I started off just like you. I tried the menthol ecigs from Logic and fell in love with the taste. I'm seeing that Logics are hard to find as only one store in my area (7-eleven) carries them. I too tried the Blu and was furious at them for how bad it tasted. Since then I've upgraded my gear and never looked back.

Yea about 20 minutes of use with the Blu them things where in the trash. Im thinking about up grading to the Halo G6 ecigs with the mini tanks instead of the standered cartomizers. Anyone have any thought or experiences with halo?

I haven't tried the Blu or Halo cig-a-likes but the small batteries aren't going to last very long on a charge.
Something like this Kanger eVod Kit - Stainless, it's the size of a sharpie pen should last 1/2 a day on average. And the tanks are much simpler to fill with a better flavor / vapor production.
I dont know what it is but i really like the cig-a-likes. I know that the battery life on them suck but to me its almost like taking a drag off a "real" cigarette. I know its more a less a mental thing but i cant help it lol. Anyone know what the best cig-a-like is out there on the market. Preferably one with a charging case, dont get me wrong i could build one but it would be a pain in the ... on a semi truck.

the best cig-a-like I have tried yet are the mark10's I have to admit surprisingly they are a good vape however they aren't a true 510 so you can't mix and match carts with it....so far I've been able to refill my same cart with juice for a good 2 months but I only use it occasionally.

as for a charging case unfortunately blu is the only one that did that. I've seen some cheap off brands on fasttech but can't vouch anything on those.

Other than that the next cig-a-like that I'd say I like would be the Greensmoke. You can get a starter kit for the price of shipping and buy an adaptor so you can then use any and all cartomizers with it!

Free Greensmoke Starter Kit, while supplies last for new users only

and then the cheapest e9 to 510 adapter I've found (and use)
E9 to 510 adapter

So for like $5 to $10 you can't beat a complete kit ;) one battery, one usb charger and some cartomizers and then the adaptor to be able to use any 510 cartomizers or 510 tanks ;)

If and when you decide to move away from the cig-a-likes please feel free to check out my blog here on ECF

if size is the issue
Size Does Matter
For those out there with the "size problem"
Here is something to give a good judgement

Congrats Dr. Quantum! I used the cig-alikes (never heard that term, -thanks) at first but ended up spending $150 for a rig and never looked back. I can blow clouds now. After almost four weeks, I like the e-cigs better than the tobacco cigarettes. Some juices taste like ... though and go straight into the trash. There are vape stores popping up all over it seems like, and being able to go in and taste different juices is a big help. Maybe you could search on your smart phone or whatever when you're approaching a metro area and find a bricks and mortar right on your way...

If you want to review some comments both Halo and Smokless Image are respected brands, both have ECF forum sections here Smokeless Image and here Halo

You can read up on comments, issues and likes - dislikes of vapers using them.
If you have questions just ask, we're a friendly bunch....:2cool:

Welcome Doc! I started with the cig a likes and couldn't see myself using anything that didn't resemble an analog. Once I tried an ego and carto tank, I was hooked. Now I am vaping on a box mod (MVP2.) Never thought I would do that either but fell in love at first drag. Don't have much advice on the cig a likes but you are in the right place with the right folks that don't get smarmy when you ask a question. Happy vaping!
