I've just learned that the hard way. It wasn't a "crisis" when I was half (or less) vaping and half smoking, but now that I'm down to 4 or 5 butts a day and vaping like a madman it can ruin your weekend when a cart's a dud.

My girlfriend just bought me an eGo aio starter kit (she's sick of my whining). Seems like a decent place to start--no carts to worry about, simple design and inexpensive. I'll see how that goes and move on from there.

Thanks, Continuity.
No worries.

Ooh - the AIO sounds like a good choice - I've not used one myself, but I know that they are a very popular device, especially with those just starting out, and they are very simple and suitable as a first 'proper' device.

The Innokin T18/T22 are also good choices in that category.

I hope you've got some e-liquid(s) that you like, and have enough Nicotine in them to keep your cravings at bay as you quit your final 4/5 cigarettes! :)

I'm finally posting!

This is a BIG site and can be a little confusing for a newb but, from the posts I've been reading, the members seem like good people. I'm glad I joined.

Anyway, I was a fairly heavy smoker (about a pack and a half/2 packs a day) but have been half vaping and half smoking for about a year and a half now. Finally decided to get rid of the smokes for good and vape full time. I figured that now's the time to get to know the folks here.

I've been using V2's series 3 Pro and, although they do some things well, they do some things very poorly. I was hoping to get some ideas here on alternatives after this introduction. Some insight from those who have quit smoking through vaping would be a great help too.

I'm also extremely interested in the fight to keep vaping legal, because they WILL come down hard on vapers if they can get away with it, imo. It's what they do. I know that this site's involved with that fight, which means it's helping to save lives.

That's it! I hope to get to know some of you and I hope you'll forgive my future mega-newblike questions.

Thanks!
I'm just starting to vape full time as well got a month under my belt isn't it great to turn a nasty cigarette habit to a tasty vaping hobby

Yeah, it is. I'm kind of amazed, actually. A 30 plus year, pretty heavy smoking habit/addiction is finally just about over. This never would have happened with the Patch, gum, etc, at least not for me. I tried. It's not a day at the beach, but it's getting MUCH easier and easier. If "They" don't think (or pretend not to think) Vaping is saving lives, they're living in an alternate reality.

Congrats, Smokie B!

Down to 3 now!--and that's with..."less than great" equipment. Think I'll be able to kick it outright when the AIO gets here. Glad you think it's a good choice. Gives me more confidence.

As to E-Liquid--glad you brought it up! (lol). Have to say that I REALLY like V2's coffee flavor. I've got it in 24 and 18 mgs now. Aside from going down in strength (because this AIO seems like a little vape steam engine), I won't have to change liquids with the AIO, will I?? That's the one thing I don't want to change. I know that's a newb question, btw.

Thanks for the Innokin suggestion. I'll check it out.

No - you can use that e-liquid in your new AIO just fine - all e-liquid is universal - the only things you have to watch out for are that sometimes liquids can be too thick/thin to work in some devices, and some high-nicotine liquids can be far too harsh in devices that produce lots of vapour.

I hope that your 18-24mg/ml liquid won't be too harsh for you in your new AIO - I think that it comes with two heads - a low resistance one, and a higher resistance one - with that juice you'll want to be using the coil with the higher resistance.

If it's too strong - you can always dilute the e-liquid with some Glycerine (which you can buy at the pharmacist/beauty store).
