Finally i am a proud owner of a new HanaModz dna x2. I had a few questions for people who one.

1) I notice some pics show the insides of the Hana having a clear plastic window of some sort covering the elctronics? My Hana V2 is wide open inside? No plastic window or anything. Are the ones i seen with the plastic window/cover/protector window come stock like that? or was this something you guys added?

2) Can you guys recommend the BEST 18650 battery to use? I figure if i am going to only have 1 battery inside this thing and only charge it thru the USB port and never swap it, I want to buy the best battery possible that is safe to use in the Hana. Can anyone recommend what they think is the best battery for this? Long charge times is not a concern to me as i only charge mine at night, So its no biggie really.

3) How and What do you use to remove all the usual scratches that these things can pick up? I am looking to clean it up really nice and then throw on a clear Jwrap.

4) Are there any popular or must do mods or tweaks that many users have done to there Hana that you can recommend? I tried going thru all 32 pages but its a lot to sort thru.

Thanks!

The Panasonic NCR18650PD is a great choice for DNA 20 boards and what I use with my 18650 DNAs. Not many batteries beat it even theoretically. By the numbers, the LG D1 battery *should* be the best as far as runtime (yes even charging to just 4.2v). I have a couple on hand but I have not fully tested them with the DNA board so I can't say for sure.

I use these same ones in my Hana, as does my son in his. We've both been quite pleased to date.

So all night I've been thinking about the Hana Modz. I struggled between this mod and the Opus D. Online reviews of the Opus D seemed pretty good. The one feature of the Opus I seemed to like is the smaller size and the menu wheel, t's a half an inch shorter in length and in width. Seems pocketable.

The Hana looks huge in pictures and video reviews -- illusion?

The Hana outweighs the Opus in features like replaceable battery and overall I dig the aesthetics. Love the raw industrial look to it. Both have the same brains so I can't comment there. Any other advantages?

Did I make a good choice? My biggest fear is that it sits on the shelf because it's size keeps me from using it in public.

Also is there a shift over to VV devices over mechanical mods? Along with my more expensive mechanicals I seem to be using the iTaste MVP a fair bit. Not really sure why but it seems that vape after vape it is really consistent.

Thanks for the thought. Pack of cigs... that puts it into perspective for me -- from the analog days I remember those fitting into my pocket without being too intrusive. So I'll get some Panasonics as well, seems like that is where it's at.

I'm pretty pumped. I worry that my mechanicals will be shelf queens.

My pleasure, XXX. Keep in mind though that our lighters weren't sticking UP from our cigs. And, of course, the extra weight. But I throw it in my jeans pocket with a rather large carto on it, and it's fine for me.

A lot of people prefer mechs, but I'm not one of them. I tried a cheap one, then an Electric Angel, until I realized that I just prefer "V" devices. Watts or volts, I do not care, but I need to be able to move a dial.

I hope you enjoy the Hana. I really like mine a lot, and don't even have the newer version - which is cut a bit better (IMO). It will scratch up, but there are numerous "wrap" options to choose from, if you don't like the scratched look. Like all DNA20 mods, it performs very well.

Yeah thanks. That's the other thing. I'm so .... about my vape gear. I dropped my Kayfun once and now all I see is that scratch. Eek.

Thanks for the wrap options but I might just have to be more careful. Being made from a chunk of aluminum I wonder if once in a while these could be refinished. I know from experience I had a wrap on other items and I would just end up peeling them off after a while.

Man I can't wait to get this thing. I'll look at wraps now... also any recs on where to get batteries for this thing?

I only buy my batteries from Orbtronic. The last time I checked they were all out of stock though so you might want to keep an eye on their site. They do cost a touch more, and can be had for cheaper. I just prefer buying from them.

Fasttech probably sells them for half of what Orb does, as many will surely tell you after reading this post (dr g, this is your cue!) . And I'm almost certain our resident physician will be happy to tell you how stupid I am for spending more than I can if I changed course.

I just don't what I'd do without his insight.

I actually don't ever consider anyone stupid for buying from whatever retailer they want. They have their reasons and preferences.
Fasttech may be cheaper but it can take up to 3 weeks to get your stuff, that time has value.

So based on your advice DPLongo22 I found a wrap for my Hana -- many thanks!

I ordered from J-Wraps like many here, and went with a clear wrap (pictures to come) so I minimize the surface scratching, which seems to be a concern when viewing several other opinions.

Also I went with a Panasonic CGR18650CH High Drain battery from:
2 Panasonic CGR18650CH High Drain 10A Hybrid IMR Li on 18650 Battery 2250mAh PCB | eBay

Does this seem like a good battery for the Hana? I want to wrap this mod right away, and may not have easy access to the battery/internals till I feel the need to replace. Any insight?

Just a FYI for everyone ordering a J-Wrap for there Hana and saying that they are 1 piece and you have to remove them to get to the battery door... When you order your J-Wrap, add to the comment section that you want it 2 pieces for the battery door, Then it will come in 2 sections, that way you can remove the battery door and not have to remove the J-Wrap.

That's a fine battery for the DNA20. The NCR18650PD would have been better though.
