Nothing too special, but they are way better than the ear buds that come with an iPhone. Actually I really am quite happy with these JVC headphones.

I may upgrade to these in the future if I feel the audiophile in me starting to nudge me. Maybe a B-Day present to myself.

It will be dependent on the headphone. Some react better to break in than others. This objective study claims there is no break in but has also stated their findings is limited to just these test subjects. I have seen other objective measurements that do display a change over time. If I find them I will post.
