Ok so for 3 months now i switched from cigs to vaping was doin both then one day just quit cold turkey an just vape now I bought a aspire pegasus mini 50w when I still smoked an now trying to get everything can out if it atm I don't have enough for a new mod so I swapped the small tank to a smok tv4 big tank with a 4 coil ka atomizer I have the Sony vtc battery the 3000ma 3.7v but even at the full 50w at 475° an 5.75v when fired with a .20 ohm 4 coil atomizer it's hard on the mod gets super hot real quick with this tank is there any firmware update I heard about ones that will take it to 70w to 75w but idk if it's true let alone how to do it just trying to get the watts up till I get paid again to buy a segleil 250w mod with a smok tank an a quad coil dripper for some cloud chasing but right now it's just I'd rather vape then go back to cigs an want to get some more watts outta this mini mod an reason I switched tanks was the small one didn't hit hard enough (not enough air flow) an the tank was so small I was constantly refilling it none stop any help till I get paid an a new mod is apriciated

Ok, sounds like you're running in TC mode, but that TFV T4 coil is regular resistance wire and should be run only in power or wattage mode. Switching should stop straining the mod. 50 watts is kinda light for that quad coil, it's rated out to 130, but it's on the bottom end of doable. You'd probably get better results switching to the T3 triple coil with your available watts. They make a T2 dual coil as well, but these coils are above one ohm and will not be as cloudy. Still, they're rated 20-40 watts, and your mod will fire them beautifully. The duals come in two models, one with better air flow. Smok also makes both Ti and Ni coils for Temp Control, and these might be your best option. Most people like titanium better than nickel. Finally, if your battery really has 3000mAh, it is not a Sony VTC. Probably a counterfeit. 20A, 3000mAh cells are available, but Sony doesn't make them.

+1 to what everyone said regarding temp control and temp control coils. Kanthal is not a temp control coil.

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.
You can get a 20A CDR 3000 mAh cell for your current mod like one of these.
  • LG HG2 3000 mAh 20A CDR
  • Samsung 30Q 3000 mAh 20A CDR
Before you buy cells for your next mod, start a new thread and we can give you more information regarding amp draw when using a regulated mod and which cell might best meet your needs. It all comes down to how high a wattage you plan on vaping at.

Consider looking at the Reuleaux RX 200 by Wismec. It's a 3 cell mod and can be found for around $40.

Ok so I switched the coil from the 4 to the 3 an when I purchased the mod kit it had a claptop coil in it (small stock tank) an the mod I I always run it in wattage mode so like when I had the tiny stock tank on there with ka atomizers I ran it at 25w to 28w now with this tfv4 tank an now running the 3 coil atomizer at 48.6w at .2 ohms an it runs at 3.11v an as I said before about the battery I was mistaken it's not the Sony vtc but is a 3k 3.7v battery also have another battery can't remember the brand right now just know it's purple an has a nice logo on it sorry not really help in out there it's in the mod now an don't really wanna take it out atm but everything I have is bought from a very reperable vape shop/lounge in my town best shop out of the few we have I know they got multiple shops in other states the shops called infinity vapes but running the 3 instead of the 4 coil atomizer an I run between 6 to 3 mg of nicotine depends on the juice like when I'm using black hat it's 3mg of nic but it's a cloud machine now but thing heats up fast after about 5 to 7 mins of vaping mouth piece gets to hot to vape or the screen will read out to hot an won't fire so I let it cool down with the good name brand juices I get the taste, cloud an my nic fix but with there house brand within 3 to 4 rips tanks almost empty bien watery (I just buy it cuz it's $3 for a 18ml bottle an every 5 bottles I buy of any juice I get $25 credit for a bottle or multiple bottles) but so far everything's working good now except the batteries bien drained an it gets hot quick it works good just need more watts to power this tank I read some people saying to sell the tank but once I get a new mode 175w to 250w mod the tank will be put on that an the tiny tank back on the pegasus mini an have it with me at work bien it fits nicely in my pocket will update once I get a nice higher wattage mod.

So the extra battery I have I mentioned above is a lg 3000mah 3.7v the one I also mentioned above the one I've been using since I got the mod is a E-FEST battery not sure the mah or an thing on it hasn't came out of the mod since I got it an when I got it I was pretty new to vaping had no idea about anything guy at the shop I go to picked out the battery cuz I asked for one that would last long an he suggested it put it in set up the mod put the first atomizer in, in the stock tank when I first got it set it all up for me an we talked for about a hr with him explaining stuff so I have some knowledge before when I smoked the only "ecigs" I used now an again were the crappy gas station ones made by tobacco company's like the mark10, vuse, criss cross an the blue one witch were all crap only one I have that I didn't mention that I still use is the snoop dogg G pen herbal vaporizer.... kinda got off topic but narrowed down to getting the segleil 200w mod read some good reviews an watch vids reviewing it

I was joking about new tank, I just find others are better. TFV4 is just for clouds not flavor. In my other post I suggested you just use the .33-.5 ohm coils available for the TFV4. They should work better around 50w. 3.1v squared is 12.4 divided by 0.2ohm is 62w so it's actually lower then 3.1v thats just the lowest it can display so your battery is trying to push out less volts then it's minimum to get 50w. Your battery is fine I think thats 30 Amp.. will do way over 50w but I don't know any that run lower then 3.2v so while your mod says 50w it's probably running over it's max at 3.2v like a mech mod. hope this helps.

Picking up a new mod tommorow for the reasons listed above like want more wattage, want to put my pegasus mini back to stock for work so it actually fits in my pocket an also just customers I'm always afraid it's Goin to fall off a counter or even just tip over bien the tank wieghts quit a bit more then the mod it's self an the base of the mod isn't that big an I got it pretty good for the flavor part yea blows clouds but I get a good flavor to using black hat brand or my new favorite brand Beantown vapor plus want to get a dripper for the new mod I'm gettin tommorow saw one when more heard it then saw it in a few vids an the first vid guy took a rip an it just sounded like a turbo spooling up an I'm a big car guy an found out from my vape shop there turbines in it that cool the vape down an they got one with nice metal turbines

An when I got the tfv4 tank basically I walked in said I need a tank that hits hard makes clouds an holds a lot of juice an they pulled the tfv4 out immediately went over it had previous experience with theses tanks my buddy has one not as big or as many things Goin on with it like mine ect. He's got the smok budda tfv4 tank liked it like mine a lot more but he just has it backed by a segleil 150w so clouds for days with his but besides that I quit smoking an vaping now, now me an a few buddies have subconsciously started making are mods better then each other just trying to out do each other probly started when there were 7 or 8 of us an had a lil cloud comp

Batteries are all made by Samsung, LG, Sony etc. They have a group A group B and group C. Only batteries wrapped by them are perfect group A. Efest would be group B, not anything "wrong" with them they just didn't meet the standards of group A so the company sold them cheap and Efest wrapped them. LG HE4, Samsung 25R and your Sony VTC are the best. The post that Sony don't make them is kind of a lie. You need to look up Sony's battery company (forget the name its something weird) It is Sony's company though.
