If you are going to stay with carts, at some point you'll want to read about different fillers (e.g. Fluval) and things like the straw or the teabag mod. Carts are good but the filler is not ideal and there is tweaking involved.

I've switched to cartomizers because I got tired of changing and trimming filler. But it worked fine for me for over 5 months before that.

I realize that you have already ordered, but this thread has potential to help a lot of people starting out. After trying a bunch of stuff over the past few weeks I would start a little differently.

I would start with a charger, two Joye 510 mega batteries, and about 10 510 refillable empty cartomizers. Follow that up with a couple of sample packs from the preferred suppliers easily found on this board. The Johnson Creek sample pack was nice.

One issue that I have is a bunch of atomizers with the last week's whitewater rafting sneaker taste because I tried 7 different flavors in them. I call it the atty flavor hangover. Rather than trashing a bunch of nice attys figuring out what you like, use the cheap cartos and dedicate one to each flavor exclusively. Keep it right in a baggie or pill bottle with the sample bottle. Feel like chocolate? Screw on the chocolate carto.. Feel like orange? Change the carto.

The JC WI Frost mixed with Swiss Dark chocolate (yum-eee!) and Island pena colada flavors do not mix well in the same atty, and now I have a collection of nasty tasting premium atomizers.

I am going to get some Smoker's Polident tabs at the store soon to try to clean them, but short of that I have not been able to burn, drip, alcohol soak, peroxide soak, Coke soak, or smoke the nasty mixed flavors out of my atomizers.

The point is, once you find what your main vape is going to be, focus on those flavors with dedicated atomizers. Until you figure out your tastes, I'd try the cheaper disposable cartomizers. Litecigusa.com has them something like 5/$8, along with the batteries and charger. Four orders form LCU so far have been A-1.

As someone pointed out above, your tastes will surprise you. I was a non-menthol smoker that hated flavored tobacco. Now I tolerate tobacco flavored vapes and love stuff that I would never even have considered trying. Valencia orange? Heck no. Guess again. It is delicious like a Jolly Rancher or an Orange Slice soda pop without the heartburn. That is the magic of the juice sampler.

A 510 with Joye big batteries, disposable cartomizers, and sample packs. That is how I'd start if I knew three weeks ago what I know now.

Answer to your question, cartridge filling gets nasty after a few days. You can rinse and restuff it with a coffe filter or tea bag. Reuse the plastic tube.

DIY Signature..

Make love not war. Ah heck, do both.. GET MARRIED.

I drip and chase my flavors. I like the mishmash and have found that all but two flavors eventually burned themselves out. One flavor went away with the dry burn cleaning. The other didn't dry burn out, but it's in an eGo atty that I have around as a back up. I'll probably get around to trying the polident cleaning eventually.

Hey Drillbit, It seems all your questions are getting answered, but I wanted to chime in on storage. Since I smoked pipes and cigars along with cigs. I had my humidor completely empty and it had dividers. It makes a very nice looking storage box for all the e-cig equipment. you can find used ones pretty cheap on ebay and at estate sales. also, mine has a nice lock on the side to keep the children out. Oh well, my 2 cents.
good luck
