Hi everyone,

So lately ive been using my Vision Spinner II with a trusty X.Jet tank with 2.1Ohm coils. Today I was at the vape shop and was convinced I would have much better flavor and clouds if I upgraded to a Aerotank 2 by kanger and used their new Subohm .8 ohm dual coils.

Needless to say, im not blowing clouds. Not at all. It seems like I am pulling through mostly airy hits with barely any vapor. No matter what Voltage I set my Spinner to it seems this way. Did i blow 30 dollars on the tank and even more on the 5 pack of coils? Is it the battery to blame?

Maybe Im just not hitting it slow enough?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

You CANNOT run sub-ohm coils on any ego style battery. The amp limit of this battery is between 2.0-2.5A. Only 1.8+ ohm coils are appropriate for use on your battery. If your batteries circuitry is working it should shut down, if not, you are on the way to frying it or blowing up the battery.

Tank your unused coils back up to the vape shop for some higher ohm coils.

Damn, would have been nice if they had let me know that while i was there. He was even making suggestions based on my current battery. Smh. Maybe after I make the exchange I will find a more knowledgeable vape shop

+1 on that idea. If a vape shops employees don't know this information, it's time to fine a new vape shop whose employees are trained to know their products (limitations, etc). It's not the employees fault if he/she has not been trained. The blame for this rests on the manager/owner.

I spent a bunch of money on different stuff and finally have a box mod on the way rigt now. I wish i had know when I started to just buy a box mod. Would have saved me some cash. If you get a better battery you will end up being able to use those coils. And I would definately ditch that Vape shop, at least for any kind of advice on products.

They mix their own flavors so Ill probably still get my juice as I do like having them mix my own ratios. I suppose ill start looking into batteries since I just joined here. Could learn a thing or two

Not sure how this progressed to a discussion on 0.8u sub-ohm coils, the OP is using a 1.8u dual coil which is perfectly suitable for a Vision Spinner 2 or EVOD VV. Yes, you shouldn't run .8u coils on a eGo style battery but 1.5 or 1.8 dual coils are fine.

It merely came with a 1.8 coil. I was convinced by the "technician" at my vape shop to buy 5 .8 ohm coils to produce thicker vapor because I want a stronger hit.

My local vape shop is actually a head shop with a small display of vaping gear in one corner. The advice I got was something along the lines of "yeah, that's one's great". Based on your story I'm glad I didn't get any more detailed advice from them. Now I just research stuff here and buy on the internet.

I doubt that Spinner wii power those coils.

An Ego style battery such as the spinner does not have a high enough amp rating and continuous discharge rating to power a sub Ohm coil. No vendor should sell you a subohm build without explaining Ohms law to you.

I used to run 2.0 ohm coils on my ego twists (essentially the same as your spinner) with no problems and an acceptable (not great) amount of vapor.

If you want a truly quality vape, you won't get it from an ego battery. Take the 0.8 coil back for a refund or exchange for a coil with a resistance rating of 1.7 to 2.0 ohms. Single coil is fine for that battery.

Because the op said this...
