Hi all.
Fairly new to vaping in an effort to stop smoking.
Needed a place to ask questions, get advice & gidence.

I have had a nicstick for a long time (got it as a way to smoke at work) and just cleaned and filled the tips.
I've now moved onto better devices.

The following is my recent vaping experience and started on Halloween 2014.
After a long time of smoking I decided to get into vaping as a way to quit.
The first step was I found a local smoke shop that is going to stop carrying e-cig stuff because they can't compete with the crazy number of vapor shops so all there stuff is 50% off.
I picked up 2 ego-t (900mah) / ce4 starter kits and a couple 10ml bottles of juice for under $30.
Was happy for a couple days until the pos desposeable tanks died.
At that point I headed to the closest vap shop and got a smok RBC that also was a quick disappointment as it started juiceing up even after cleaning and replacing the coil/wick.
I was about to give up but I started searching the web and found a lot of good reviews on aspire so I started visiting every shop I came across and ended up getting an aspire et-s with bvc.
I was happy for a few more days then started feeling like the draw was too tight. Quickly found mention of drilling the holes ; so I did and that tank has been my favorite to this day.
Next issue I started having was the ego-t batteries seemed to be getting weak at an alarming rate (one went from full to dead in 5 hours & the other wasn't heating the coil like before and it turned out its max output had dropped to 3.4v)
So I started looking at vape shops for something better.
I got to talking to some people and got an Itaste MVP 2.0 in like new condition (the guy bought it for his girlfriend and she didn't use it more than a couple times because it was too big) with a never used I clear 30 for $20. At the same time I got a KeCig K100+ with 2 batteries (18650 & 18350), charger & the original atomizer (it works and matches the look but when anything goes bad it will be trash) for $20.
I drilled the I clear 30 for better air flow and drilled the beauty ring as well. It doesn't leak like I've seen many talk about but its still not as nice as my aspire tank.

I'm wanting to get into RDA soon and will need gidence as to what to look for.
Not wanting to spend too much and would like something that will work on both my mods. I understand from reading single coil will be easiest to build for the MVP because the amp limit but idk what the K100+ can handle (don't want my button on fire or exploding batteries)

B&Ms have higher overhead costs so they look for the cheapest, hopefully quality, items they can because they have to mark them up for costs.

I have my own web page and one whole subpage is just internet links for shopping. No online vendor has "everything" so I shop. Takes some studying, but is much cheaper than a B&M.

Hope helps

Thanks.
Most of my future purchases will most likely be online (except juice as I found a shop that works with me on custom blends and I only buy on 1/2 price day so 50ml for $10).
I've found lots of cool parts on various sites but don't know what I need so that's why I'm here because I'm sure the crazy 4 coil ADR would be a bad choice mor my mods but don't know what I should look for or how I would build.

Hello and welcome to the forum iTiger. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are new to mech mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You will soon be 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you) if you are using a rebuildable on an unregulated mod. Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mech mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

MECHANICAL MODS & REBUILDABLES

7. Information Resources for Your First RBA
* An essential read and reference guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

15. Inexpensive Mechanical Mod and RDA Setup
* A response to the frequently asked question on how to get into rebuildable atomizers with a mechanical mod inexpensively. Includes a list of commonly used tools and supplies for rebuilding and where to find them.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
