Hi all!!! New to vaping and looking for some advice on a starter kit and juice. So much information out there and a bit overwhelming.. figured I'd tell you pros what I was looking for and see if you could offer some suggestions. :)

I don't smoke anymore and mostly just looking to vape recreationally... not sure I'd even get juice w/nicotine. Decent clouds would also be nice... either way just looking for a good starter kit to see how much I like it.

There's a small local place by me that has a few starter kits.. they have the v2 pro series 3 and another called Just Juice. I've found some good reviews for the v2, but couldn't find much about the Just Juice kit.
Anyone have experience w/either? Or recommend something different all together? I'm not opposed to driving a little out of my way or ordering something online if it was much better and around the same price ($30-40).

Also hoping for recommendations on juice.. just something safe and good. :)
Thanks everyone!!!

Not going to do much clouds on that budget. For clouds you will need at least a Istick 50 watt or more and a Sub ohm tank or dripper, with a dripper you will have to make your own coils.

The OP said "Decent clouds would be nice." Personally, I think this is a decent cloud.

Thanks for the info! Clouds not so important for now... any recommendations for a starter kit?

I'm going to repost the suggestions of my Guru Baditude:

  • Innokin MVP (there are several models available, and differ by how many watts of power they provide)
  • Eleaf iStick (same goes for these)

These offer the below features compared to an Ego battery:

  • Longer battery time between charges (2 - 3 days) than an eGo battery
  • Ability to vape while charging the battery (called "pass through ability")
  • More powerful battery than an eGo to use attachments requiring more power (RBA's)
  • May delay the desire to upgrade to a more advanced setup at a later time.
  • Allows the use of super low resistance atomizers (sub-ohm)
  • Built-in voltage (battery meter) and resistance (ohm reader) meters
  • Variable power settings (variable voltage & wattage).
  • More durable than an eGo battery, but this comes at the expense of being bulkier in size and weight, and being less pocket friendly than an eGo pen

For the tank, the Aspire Nautilus or Mini Nautilus are extremely popular, and great for newer vapers.

A good starter kit if you don't even smoke and want to vape recreationally, in line with the PEN STYLES you have been looking at, and within your budget, would be something simple like a Halo Triton or an Evod kit.

Heres your just juice kit, I think you can do better :
Just Juice Vaporizer Kit |

I know what you are trying to do, you do not need a 50 watt mod or anything like that to vape recreationally and blow a few clouds. :)

If you want a readout, a lot of people like this one:
Innokin iTaste VV4 Express Kit 750mAh, 15w, 0.8ohm
You will still need to buy a clearomizer to go on top

Or evod kit which I like and totally in your budget, plus they have cheap ejuice there too:
Kanger Evod Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes
or here
Kanger EVOD Starter Kit - Authentic Kangertech™ - Vapor Authority

Pretty colors, and in the kit you get 5 extra coils, 2 batteries, 2 clearomizers and both chargers.....will last you a while!

Here is the Halo triton, many people start off with this but it has it's own propriatary threading so you will have to stick with their clearos but they are pretty kits: maybe a bit over your budget
Vape Starter Kits | Triton Vape Pen kits | Halo E-Cigs

If you are not even a smoker, and are new to vaping, I think anything like 50 watts is gonna choke you up......I can't even use them myself. :) And a newbie doesn't need to be building coils on RBAs for their first rig.

If you were a smoker I owuld recommend something else but this stuff is very similar to what you already were looking at, but BETTER.

I was trying to match your orig. choices, but Ocelot gave good suggestions if you want a BOX Shaped vaping device............but will put you way over your stated budget of $30-40 by the time you buy the nautilus. . :) The nautilus alone is going to cost about $25 and then you will need to buy extra coils plus the battery/box. and juice.

The gear wasn't the point. My point was a decent cloud at 13.5 watts. ;)
Ohh I agree. I feel that I do a decent cloud at 8 watts. The definition of decent cloud is highly subjective though :)
Most seem to think that a decent cloud is what i call a LARGE cloud.

That MVP kit is at same place, but they are including top coil iclear 30 (ugh) with only one coil in there but they would get free juice for $36 n'change.....if they want box shape.

I admit to being conservative since the given budget was kinda .... slim. :) I was trying to stay under $40

It has been around a while. One reviewer on youtube seems to have been a front for them, can't remember his name though. They are into lots other stuff besides vaping though. The reviewer I am thinking of also reviewed expensive flashlights and other gun/sporting gear.
I think they have a US ordering point but all seems to come from China.
So far I have not bought from them but this interests me.
