Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I'm also sort of new to the e-cig. I purchased one a year ago at the mall. It has the disposable tips. I found it to be ok. But didn't keep up with it. Now I'm looking to start up again.

Currently I'm looking to purchase the Joye EGO. I'd like to refill with e-juice myself. What is everyones thoughts on the ease of this product. Will I think the Joye EGO is a pain to refill?

I've seen that some products have the clear refill cartridges. Can I use clear cartridges with the Joye EGO. I'm looking to be able to see when I need to refill.

I've read through a lot of the stickys in this forum, but I'm still confused. I just don't want to place an order and find out that what I've ordered is not compatible with each other.

I'm also looking forward to eventually trying the many flavors available.

Any help and/or recommendations is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hello fellow peep from Illinois. :)

I use a box mod most of the time but do own an Ego and do like it.
I like attys for dripping and testing and use Cartos and CEs most of the time. There's a learning curve to all but believe me things have got simpler of the last couple of years.

When buying liquid, buy the sampler packs.

The ones you don't like take over to PIF and you can swap for others to try.

Joye Ego is a great choice. Most people do not use the atomizer+carts it comes with. You should learn to use them but also get a drip tip for testing juices on the atomizer.

Most people vape using cartomizers (disposable combined cart with internal atomizer) and the most popular ones for 510-threaded devices are Boge. Cartomizers aka cartos hold more juice than carts and need juice added less often, and work more consistently. The Boge standard resistance would be good for learning to use them - warm, and a bit more forgiving as you learn to sense when juice should be added. Then since Ego is a fat battery model greater than 450mah you could try the hotter LR 2.0 ones (or if you can find them, the medium 2.5 ohm ones). After you've tried Boge, there are other types of cartos you can try like reservoir ones that need a syringe to fill including clear ones that may crack and fall apart but some people like them.

I find thin (20% or less VG) light colored juices make my Boges work well longer. I can get at least a week of good performance out of a Boge and since I usually alternate a pair that is 2-3 weeks of use out of 2.

I recommend you check the prices at Liberty-Flights.com and press the 20% off in the upper left first (the shown prices will be shown 20% less).

Some other similar things to look at - the Riva 510 at Liberty-Flights is a popular Ego clone. And the Ego-T - while only some people like the tanks and tank attys, the Ego-T batteries add a 5-presses enable/disable switch to make them easier to carry in a pocket. You can buy and put regular atomizers with drip tip or cart, or cartomizers on Ego-T batteries, same as any other Ego or Riva 510

Hi anemone,

I've been using an ego with a tank (which is refillable) for 7 weeks. They are very easy to refill. When you say clear cartridges do mean the tanks or carts. Though it should matter as both should as long as they are 510 connections. Though personally I preferred the cartomizers (not the clear ones as they, in my experience, are very weak)

EGO or RIVA are good beginner PV's. I agree with dormouse to get some blank cartomizers to go along with the atomizers that come with the kit. Liberty Flights probably has some of the best pricing on either the eGo or RIVA. I personally think the RIVA is the better option.

Liberty Flights, PG version, "Home Counties" flavor eliquid is the closes I have found to Marlboro Lights. It's a nice smooth tobacco flavor.

Thanks for the replys, recommendations, and welcomes! Lots of information! This is far more difficult then saying "marlboro lights box 100's please." But so worth it. But, I'm so confused!

To be honest, I don't know what I mean! LOL I read somewhere about clear "something" being easier since you could see how much juice was still available.
