Hi, I'm James. I'm 37 and have been a smoker for 3 years (strange, I know). I just bought a Triton Tank System from HaloCigs a week ago and have been getting used to vaping.

I was a pack a day smoker, now I'm down to 5-6 analogs a day.

I'm vaping 18mg juice with 2.2-2.4 resistance coils in my tank. So far I have a flavorful vape with a nice subtle throat hit.

I was hoping to be able to give up analog all together, but it seems really hard to do so. I mean I'm down 15 analogs a day which is great but I'm vaping my ... off.

Does anyone have any advice on how to go full digital and get rid of the analogs? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been through this struggle.

First off welcome. I feel your pain brother, I'm in my second month of no Analogs and it is not as easy as one would think it would be. 18mg juice is what I'm down to now. I started with 24mg. I smoked 2 packs a day for as long as you have been alive. You have to start out with Juice that you can nic yourself sick on. If you haven't experienced that, your juice is too weak to start out with. The Triton gear is good stuff and a real step up from disposable units, but you may find (like I did) that you need some better gear that gives you a nice punch to give up the cigs for good.

Last but not least, willpower. You just have to continue to vape your face off and avoid the triggers that made you smoke. You may also wish to try some WTA mixed into your juice. You can search it out on the forum here. That stuff can make a world of difference. First time I used it I got that Cig buzz that was missing from vapeing.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you are working yourself away from the cigs. When I quit I had to get rid of my cigs and not have any around or I would smoke them. Also if you are using a tank system you may need to keep the nicotine level a little on the high side (12mg - 18mg?) until you are comfortable not having to smoke. Then you can slowly wean yourself down as your body adjusts.

Welcome to ECF, cz!

I am not familiar with your gear, so can't be of much help there. But I am sure others will help you out there.

Quitting the analogs is a very individual thing and everybody's experiences will vary. But you have made good progress in a week. Don't beat yourself up and go at your comfortable pace. Each analog avoided is a gain. A little time and trial and error will get you to where you want to go.

Good luck and when you think you need a smoke, grab a couple good vapes! :vapor:

Just VAPE VAPE VAPE! Thats how i finally quit. It's been 9 months + since i had an analog. Took me about 3 weeks of using both before i laid down the cigs. I had a hard time too, but what helped was limiting WHERE i smoked. I quit smoking in my vehicle, the house. I got tired of going outside and pulling over to smoke so i vaped more and more, which, in turn, meant i smoked less. Once i was going 8hrs without an analog, i figured why not put em down for good!! You can do it!!!

Hi, I'm new to the group but not to vaping. I stopped smoking the moment I got my first mod. The first 3 days sucked really bad but I fought through it and by the end of the first week it was so easy not to smoke. I even tried a cig and it was so gross I couldn't even finish it. So for me the only way to stop cigs was to actually stop them completely because having one every now and then wasn't working for me personally. Every time I wanted a cig I vaped so those first 3 days I was vaping none stop but it helped and making sure everyone in my house stayed away from me. lol Also I had got lots of finger foods to help keep my hands busy too. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

I smoked for 22 years. I have tried everything to quit. Vaping has been the only thing that worked FOR ME. i have been smoke free for almost a month. At this point food tastes amazing, and cigs stink from a mile away. Not to mention my energy level, breathing, and a truck that actually smells good. I'm a truck driver for a living. It's been a struggle, I still occasionally want a cig, but vaping keeps me satisfied. Good luck to you, I know that vaping has changed my life in a HUGE way.

Congradulations on starting a new journey. Like anything new its both exciting and a little uneasy at times. I felt sick after the last analog and that is a big change for me. When trying other methods when I smoked an analog it brought relief, not now. That's a huge change for me and now know I am on the right path. You have made great strides and I wish you all the best.

to ecf czguy. So glad you are here and a big congrats on the vaping. I did both for a good while and just naturally started cutting back on the cigarettes because I found I was enjoying the vaping so much more. Did not really mean to quit but it has been a year and half and I still have no desire for a cigarette. When I got down to 2 a day, it seems like the cigarette that I had been smoking forever just started tasting nasty. It may not necessarily be the nicotine in your cigarette that you crave. It could the just the habit of smoking. Let's face it. . . it is hard to give up an old friend. That is what cigarettes were to me but that was after much, much longer than 3 years. I just know at some point, you will have no problems at all becoming a full time vaper. By joining ecf, you have already taken the first step. Lots of information here but we are also a huge support group that is always in your corner. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading more about your journey. Let us know how you are doing. Have fun and happy vaping.

The first week or two was the hardest for me. Whenever you have the urge to smoke just grab your vape. It feels unnatural at first but it really is the only way. You will adjust really quickly and the faster you do this the sooner the craving for smokes will go away. It really helps to find a flavor you can crave. I heartily recommend the vapor chef and nicoticket. Also, the triton is decent but you will be much better served with and eleaf istick and some Aspire Nautilus Minis. They are a far superior setup to the Halo ego type batteries. You will also get much better battery life and flavor with them. Battery life on the egos was one of the most obnoxious barriers when I was trying to quit smoking. Good luck to you sir.

welcome to ECF and vaping :D
I would suggest upping your nic to 24mg for the first month or three....and don't worry about vaping a lot, that's actually normal...you're body is adjusting from all of the extra crap that's in cigs to just getting nic from vaping....it usually takes a good 3 months until the cravings subside...and vaping works different than smoking....vaping is about maintaining your nic level, when i first started i was vaping every 15 to 30 minutes at 36mg....i've been vaping exclusively now for a year and a half and now i can go hours before needing another vape while at work, whereas when smoking i was outside every hour or two hours max....now maybe every 4 hours unless i'm bored and i'll step out for a minute every now and then just to up my nic levels...

try upping your nic to about 24mg and see if that doesn't help any with your cravings but as I said from research here in the forums on average it seems to be about 3 months before you finally mellow out and then it hits you..WOW I'm not craving a cig anymore!
Just stick to it and you'll be all the healthier...5 months you'll notice you're not hacking so more and can actually breath and not feel so tight in your chest (even if you don't notice it now...you will notice how much better you feel)

and don't worry about vaping every 30 minutes or more....as i said you're body is trying to get used to not having all the other addictive crap in cigs and so it wants more nic to replace that
