Hey everyone. After quitting for almost 3 years by using lozenges, I started up again due to stress/anxiety. I quit, then started again on my cross country road trip. When I got back I told myself I would quit again, and I did. I simply can't smoke because I play and referee hockey. It's impossible. And I don't like the way it makes me feel physically.

Well, I started hitting my friend's Reo Grand and it got me hooked. She was using monkey chunks, strawberry cream and pumpkin spice blended w/ a little vanilla and tobacco juice and I fell in love and realized that this is even better than cigarettes, as far as the effect-- and much better than lozenges. I have a Reo Grand (am waiting on my two smaller 3.7 volt batteries to arrive because 3 volts is just too low for me) and am using her Darwin, which I like a lot. I think once my batteries arrive I'll get a Darwin and use it as my backup unless someone here can change my mind.

I like big, fat hits of flavors that are borderline harsh to the throat. 30% VG and 24 mg. nicotine is the combo I like as well.

The thing with the Darwin is that I find myself often having to drip juice into the cartomizer (using a BOGEY 3.0). Am over-juicing because I'm getting used to the flavor or is this right?

Also, how often do people who vape a lot change out their cartomizers, on average?

Any other spicy/harsh juices you all reccommend?

Thanks a lot. I'll continue to browse around here for more info.

*i can't seem to reply to any of your posts... what am i doing wrong?

The Darwin is a variable volt mod. They use more eliquid than a 3.7 which is what the Reo would be with 1 18650 battery. I don't remember what voltage 2 smaller batteries on the Reo will give you. Using the Darwin, you will have to be make sure the carto is continually wet by dripping more in the top periodically. With the Reo, you would just 'squonk' the bottle to feed juice to the carto so it's much easier and more convenient than having to continually drip juice in the top of the carto.

Cartos will generally last 5 to 7 days, maybe longer depending on your eliquid. They don't usually just quit, but the draw will get harder and harder. Then you have two options. Just throw it away. It costs about 1.50. Or you could try cleaning the cartos by boiling for 5 min and then let dry for 24 hours, or clean by the flushing method pushing hot water thru the carto with a syringe tip and then let dry. You should be able to clean and reuse a carto several times. I usually just throw them away as I have never been too successful cleaning them.

I get about 5 to 7 days from a carto, as dearme said. Sometimes, I kill one in a day or two if the juice is high in VG content. 100%PG is the optimum juice for a carto. If it soaks in quickly, it's OK. You can use up to 30% VG with no real issues, but the juice needs to be clear (not foggy). Sediments kill a carto pretty quickly.

I like to use the condom method on the first fill of my cartos. After that, I pop off my drip tip and drip in a few drops from a 3ml bottle that I carry in my pants pocket. It only takes a few seconds to top off and I'm good for an hour.

If you haven't tried the condom method of filling, here it is.

If I'm not mistaken, the Darwin is variable wattage not voltage. +1 on the Darwin. I get about 1 week out of cartos, a little longer w/ a tank. My preference is atty for flavor and carto/tank set up for portability.

Whatever you choose I wish you good health and lots of fun getting to know everything about vaping. Make sure to check out the Darwin thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ything-you-ever-wanted-know-about-darwin.html for info.

Thank you, Haffelpuff, for correcting that. I'm mechanically challenged and just use a Resistance/Ohms chart for the technical stuff..........LOL

I wish my friends would loan me a darwin lol... Also you can't post in other forums till 5 or 15 posts. I had 5 but keep reading now 15. Also careful with flooding. I did that in fear of dry carto's when it gives less vape then it needs more juice

do you mean once you flood a carto it will require more juice than normal?

No, it doesn't mean that. If you add too much juice you can sort of blow out the juice into a tissue, or even dab the top of a carto with a q-tip.

You can really tell by looking at the carto if you've added too much juice. It isn't absorbed and the juice sort of pools on top of the carto.

thanks a ton for this info. i usually drop a few drops into the carto until it starts to trickle out the bottom. would you recommend a better way?

and how are you certain it needs more juice? i feel like i may be putting too many drops in too often

You can drip directly into the carto, use the condom method, or a syringe.

If it's something like a boge that takes about 1 ml. I put a toothpick in the center channel and drip about 10 drops or so. Let it sit, and give it a good thermometer shake. Add 5 more drops, shake. Repeat until the carto can't take any more juice at all.
Let it sit about 10 more minutes and add a couple more drops.

Once I start vaping and flavor seems to drop off, I pop off the drip tip and add a few drops of juice.

If you don't want to do that, fill 3-4 and then change them and top them all off at the end of the night.
