More my 1 1/2 cents. When I first stopped smoking I was glad I did NOT get a Ego, BB, Chuck, Xhale, GG, etc. I had a 401, then 510 and they worked better. Why???
When we smoked we all played with that analog and held it in our lips, hands, etc. Kinda hard to do that with the mods...Yep, got them now like everybody else, but not to start.
Plus I enjoyed playing with batterys, filling up the juice, etc. All a positive change for me.
I don't know if the result would have been the same and I would have quit if I had a big mod for my first one that I couldn't hold in my mouth or change batterys or constantly refill with juice. Plus we all have to learn everything about these as far as batterys, filling, liquid, etc, as God forbid, Our clueless government bans them.
So for me I owe it all to the simple 401 with auto battery, Just like a cigarette and the 510 for those needed throat hits.
I was 2 packs/day for 35 yrs and quit within 1 week. Everybody is different and certain kinds work better for each person. Soon they will come over from the Dark side and join us with every Atty there is, 3.7v, 6v, mods and enough liquid to fill a small pool.
Supplies: Litecigs has them all. Madvapes also. Excellent support too. I had questions in the beginning and both always had the time to help me.

No problem JayMel! :)

Just to clear something up though... a cartomizer is a cart and an atomizer in one piece, not a battery and atomizer.

Janty Ego
Totally Wicked Tornado (same thing as eGo, just different seller)

Cheapest places for juice are www.strictlyejuice.com and www.vikingvapor.com

Strictlyejuice is better IMHO. Some of the juices I got from vikingvapor leave this nasty cough syrup taste in my mouth when I exhale.

I've also heard good things about http://www.halocigs.com/products/eliquid-smoke-juice.html but I haven't tried them yet. I will be placing an order come sale time!!!

So my father has been smoking for about 30 years although he did quit for a few years but went back on them. I'm trying to help him find the most hassle free e-cigarette.

If he is looking for something hassle-free, I would recommend the KR808D-1. Specifically, the Vapor King from Vapor4Life. I really cringe when I see SO MANY people trying to steer you toward e-cig models that are NOT hassle-free when you were pretty clear about what you're looking for. Unless your father is the kind of guy who has the time and inclination to tinker with his e-cig a lot, stick with the KR808-type of e-cig.

The KR808D-1 is a 2-piece model: battery and cartomizer. Vapor4Life has a huge assortment of juice flavors and strengths, the cartomizers are very simple to refill, and the battery life for the XL batteries is far better than the models I see people recommending. It's a great product, especially for a beginner.

I saw someone nix V4L because they don't like their liquids. Taste is very subjective and your dad will probably have to try several vendors before he finds his favorites, so don't let that deter you. Good luck.

I don't know... I never tinker with my Tornado. The only tinkering I do is change the battery that I used all day before I go to sleep. Drip a few drops through my drip tip when flavor diminishes a little, and enjoy huge plumes of vapor from my LR atty's. Pretty hassle free, if you ask me. My blucigs kit, however, was a PITA. Changing batteries every 45 minutes and plucking off tin foil every time I put on a new cartridge, not to mention how quickly the performance of the unit went bad. What's so hassle free about a KR808... I've never tried one. I'm assuming you still have to change and charge batteries and clean the connections every once in a while.

Hi JayMel,
I'm new to vaping myself and have a somewhat similar situation to you. My mom is 67 years old and a 50 year smoker. I myself am a 30 year smoker. When I decided to give vaping a try, I ordered the ultimate ultimatum kit from V4L (Vapor For Life). It comes with 2 KR-808 batteries, and is a 2 piece unit as opposed to a slightly more difficult to operate 3 piece such as the 510. It produces plenty of vapor and the batteries last longer than many. Also, it looks like a cigarette, which may be important to him at least in the beginning. My mom seemed mildly interested in the whole thing, so I gave her one of the e-cigs and it's really so easy to use that she has no difficulty with it at all. She uses it every day and we both have cut back on analogs considerably. I don't know how technologically savvy your dad is, but my mom is'nt too good with modern tech.
I personally like a few tobacco flavored juices such as 555, flue cured and various marlboro knock-offs ( you'll recognize them by their names like Marly, Marl, etc. So far I'm impressed with the whole concept of vaping and my KR-808 and surprisingly, so is my mom. I think if you help your dad along, he'll do just fine. The nicotine really satisfies, just let your dad know that vaping will never be exactly like smoking cigarettes, but it sure comes close!

Good Luck with your efforts!
One last note. I originally purchased the GreenSmoke and found it to be inferior. Limited flavors and IMHO they all tasted horrible! It's also not very compatible with various other components the way other, better models are. Plus what I've seen on this forum, they don't have a very good reputation around here!

I smoked for 26 years and what worked best for me was the Joye 510, Find a juice you like and then i had to move to the 5 volt after I got past the having to have something that was more of a cig size. now I'm hooked on lots of vapor / taste. Good luck!!

Note: Its not for everyone I have 8 people I know try to change over to Vapor and all but 3 have quit and only vap now.

some like the 3.7 volt with the high nic and some like me like the 5V with the lower nic 12-18mg. hopefully I will get down to zero someday.

started at 24mg 3month ago and now i can vap 12mg. but I'm a pretty heavy vapor and I can even Vape in the Office.

Hi, VaporRultz,

I totally agree with you. I have the KR808D-1 from Vapor4Life and use the XL batteries (the manual battery as it gives a better delivery) and am really happy with the product. I have been vaping for almost 3 months and have had no analog cigarettes since I started. Vapor4Life gives great customer service, answers questions, has great cartomizers and flavors.:)
