New Intro and Question

Hello all,

New to vaping and new to forums. Live in Las Vegas and own an IT company. Always liked vaping, wanted to quit smoking and after 13 years, did not feel I could cold turkey it again. I wanted to know what to do with these coils when wicks start threading. See below. I am guessing I can toss it or replace that single wick? Can I still just use it while it is threading?



Bought a Halo Triton kit that my friend in Japan swore by. Ordered four flavors (malibu, subzero, mystic and midnight apple(by far was my favorite)) from halo with it at 12mg nictotine. I always smoked Menthols (newport, kool, marlboro for the past few years) but 12mg is really harsh and makes me cough like crazy. Within two days, I went and ordered two more flavors (tribeca(AMAZING) and Voodoo) at 6mg and those were much better. I also, unlike my first batch, actually let them steep and started shaking them every time I would vape or fill. I then winded up ordering another 5 flavors from vape dudes at 6mg and I am still waiting on that order.

Also is there anything I can do to make any of these flavors not as harsh? I am guessing I would have to order 0 to 6mg and mix it with a higher amount of the lower mg? I tried at higher ohm coils to burn cooler but it seemed to make no difference. Malibu ar 12mg is almost unsmokable it is so harsh.

What is the pg/vg ratio of the eliquids you are using? My daughter and I have been fine with 18 mg nicotine practically since we started vaping. About 2 months ago, we went from using cigalikes with refillable cartos to Kanger Evod setups. The vendor that we ordered our kits from included eliquids, our choice of nicotine strength and flavor. The eliquids are fantastic - flavorful, really fun to vape. However, the vendor only offers 100% pg eliquids. VERY harsh throat hit for us, between the 100% pg and the new equipment. I toned it down some by mixing another flavor with a higher vg content in with my 100% pg liquid. Much more vapable to me now, and still very tasty.

I can't help you with your wicks - we use bottom coil clearos. Sorry.

Yeah they don't let you select the PG/VG on halo. Vapedudes did and I just left it at 50/50 since I am still new to it and wanted to see how those work out.

I think Halo's varies per liquid. Some of them produce a LOT more then others it seems so far.

And yes, you can still use the coil if the wicks unwind.

You can totally still use the coil and wicks, I would just check to make sure there arent any bits frayed or loose enough to actually detach (a getle tug should do it) and it will be fine.

As far as the harshness, you will probably notice it is much less with the vape dudes if that is a 50/50. 6 is extremely low nic and should not be at all harsh. See what the 50/50 does for you. You can also get USP VG (Pharmaceutical grade Vegetable Glycerin) at wally world or most any pharmacy. Dilute your 12mg by even 30 percent (3ml USP VG per 10 mls) and I would guess you will find much harshness will be gone

Way back, in the mists of ECF, I can remember threads where people would recommend you 'fluff your wicks'. Essentially, that was just speeding along the process of unwinding that yours are already doing. It's fine to use wicks that are fluffing themselves.
