What does a slightly hyper feeling tell me about my nicotine dose?

Greetings! Brand new here, and brand new to the world of the e-cigarette.

I received a Halo G6 yesterday -- ONE DAY after I ordered it. Holy cow.

I'm kind of in love with two of the liquids, Prime 15 and Malibu. I have two sampler packs of liquids, in 12mg and 18mg. I decided to start my experiments with 12mg.

After a few hits of 12mg, I feel... sort of hyper. No nausea, no racing heartbeat, etc. I can imagine this feeling before bed being counterproductive. Does this mean I need to go down to 6mg, or mix the 12mg with 6mg or something?

I'd like to use my vaporizer more often (it's delicious!), but I'm afraid of taking in too much nicotine. On the other hand, I'd like to replace my Marlboro Lights, so I'd like to have enough nicotine. I am not a heavy smoker, but I am stubbornly addicted and historically resistant to all efforts to quit/replace/delay, etc.

Thank you!

Welcome danie! We tend to vape a lot when we first start out. I smoked M lights, tried some 12 mg juice, but dropped to 6 mg just in case. If you don't need the nic, you could go lower. This is the best quitting tool I've come across after 30 years smoking. Btw, Dekang USA Mix tastes like M lights to me. Good luck!

Edit: no racing heartbeat is good. vaping makes my face hot. Maybe it's just exciting and fun for you?

It is fun -- SUPER fun. I had no idea.

I had no idea, I found myself skipping to the mailbox this afternoon cause I knew there was new juice samples in there. That's right, a 31 year old guy skipping and smiling like a goof on his way to the mailbox. Seriously, with vaping, its like Christmas morning at the age of 10 every time you order something new.

OMG! SO how I feel!! My Husband laughs at how excited I get about this stuff! I couldn't keep still in the car the other day when I knew the ego kit I had won was in the mail box. Later at home, I kept an eye on the little light on the charger waiting for the first battery to be ready to try it out. When it finally changed color indication full charge, I screamed, "IT'S BLUE!!" and ran/danced/laughed/sang to the little table where it was sitting. It wasn't until I had unscrewed it from the charger and turned to take it to my little "lab" area in the kitchen that I noticed my kids and husband were looking at me like I had lost my mind.

Could the hyper feeling be anxiety? I experienced that at the start. I was using a mall ecig. I thought it was my body expecting relief from inhaling nic and it not delivering. Like your body saying WTH? Where's my nic?? It's a very different experience than the tight-chest, too-much-nic feeling. If it sounds plausible the 18mg might help. You have good equipment and quality juice. Maybe try lower and higher nic to see which makes the hyper subside. Good luck.

It could be adrenaline and/or anxiety, it's true. I'll try to calm down the "ooh, shiny!" and just deal with the nicotine issue. Boodle, you make a fantastic point; I'll see what 18mg feels like.

I'm laughing at the mental images of a bunch of adult men and women skipping and trotting to mailboxes in anticipation of new supplies. It really is kind of like toys and candy for grown-ups, isn't it?

Thank you for the support!

Oh, I know the hyper feeling. I still get it whenever something new arrives in the mail. I just ordered all of the supplies I need for DIY, and I'm already giddy as a schoolgirl. Which is really not manly at all.

As for why you feel a little hyper? Well, could be the adrenalin. Could be the giddiness of discovering how awesome vaping is and how it's getting you off of cigarettes. Could be as simple as the fact that nicotine is a mild stimulant and you're getting more of it vaping than you did while smoking (but not so much as to make you nauseous or headachy). Your body will let you know when you've had too much; we all have different tolerances, but I'd have to say that at 12mg, you'll probably have trouble reaching that wall even if you chain vape. (Although 12mg is about my current limit, actually. I vaped 24mg for months but it caught up with me, now I've found I have to cut down to at least 12mg or lower or else the problems return.)

But I think you'll do just fine with what you've got. If you find yourself vaping a lot (and you're sure it's just not because of how much you like it, but rather because you feel like you need to in order to become satisfied) then you probably need to up the dose. But if you aren't getting any cravings, or at least if the cravings you get are mild and manageable, you're probably just fine where you are.

Welcome to ECF!

Could very well be just plain oxygen actually making it from your lungs into your body now!

Your body will heal: slow and steady. Its difficult to see the damage we were doing to out bodies. Just wait, your sense of smell and taste will blow your mind as time passes. I smoked for over 20 years, very very heavily. After a year of vaping, I will actually pull over and get out of the car if someone farts in it. I have Freebreeze units in half the electrical outlets in my house now. I'm having trouble eating at Taco Bell anymore (used to love it) because it tastes exectly like what dog food smells like.....

Totally agree. My mail lady, thinks I am absolutely nuts. I guess she is not used to people stalking her out when she is three houses down on the other side of the street. Shes gotten used to it though! Now instead of crazy, she just thinks I'm super funny. From the huge smiles and laughs that she gives now, when she see's me waiting, I'm pretty sure, it makes her day when I'm waiting outside for her like a giggly school girl!!

Danie, I got the G6 too and i absolutely love it. I play on getting one of the smaller batteries sometime soon. I cant really attest to the hyper feeling you have. But I have only had mine for 2 days and have been pretty much constantly using it. I havent had and nausea or headaches to speak of.

I am still smoking 2-3 analogs a day right now just to make sure the transition is as comfortable as possible. If it helps at all, i am smoking mostly 18mg juices. Try bluemist.coms belgium waffle with extra flavore....absolutely delicious

I have to agree with the slighty hyper feeling,I'm smoking 36mg Nic juice "lol it's high I know" but what can I say I'm kinda crazy when it comes to this, but ya I also get a slightly hyper feeling and if I cape heavily before bed I can't get to sleep at all it makes me wide awake

Nicotine is a stimulant, maybe vape a lower nic juice at night?
