So, the obligitory first post.
Some background. I quit smoking analogs in December 2010 switching to vaping. My first kit(s) were a KR808D-1 and a 510 with PCC kit. Why 2? well I ordered the KR808 first from a company in the US (I'm Canadian) and couldn't wait to get going so I literally ordered a kit from Canada the next day while my KR808 was still in transit after researching Canadian distributors.
About 2 months later, and after using various different attys/carts/cartos/juices I figured it was time to pick up something with a larger battery. Was sick of charging batteries over and over (and over) so picked up an eGo and a nice drip-tip.
So.. Overall impressions/reviews:
Hardware:
KR808 - Best vapor production of the PVs, but the cartos still leave something to be desired. I've tried a couple different brands and all were "meh" for flavour. Ended up giving this to my cousin who was also trying to quit smoking, and sent her off with about 20 pre-filled cartos.
510 PCC Kit - I wouldn't buy this without the PCC. The charge on these batteries doesn't last more than 1-2 hours (on a good day) but they are nice with the CE2R4 Cartomizers. I did find that these were only really "great" fresh off the charger, and seemed to die out about half way through the battery. The CE2 cartos would be perfect if it wasn't for the headache of refilling them with a needle. Not the type of thing you want to be seen doing at the local pub (People look at you like you have a 2nd head)
eGo Kit - My personal favourite with this was the eGo-T Atty/Tank system. The tank system is SOOO handy eventhough you go through juice like water with this puppy. Vapor production I find a little less than dripping right on an atty, but for usability day in/day out this wins hands down.
I have a Bloog Maxx Fusion kit being delivered today. Based on the KR8 style so I think I have an understanding of what to expect, but the reviews have been stellar on the cartos so I figured why not. Will update on that once I have a chance to play for an extended period of time. Will be nice to have a fully auto kit kicking around for when I go to the pub.
Juices
Hands down favourite - Dulcis from VaporTalk. This was the 2nd juice I ever tried, and I think it's the reason i actually quit smoking. If it wasn't for the fact they shipped from California, and took 5+ days with risk of customs nightmares to get here, I'd order it by the truck load. If you haven't tried it, it's a dark rich caramel/tobacco blend that is sweet and nutty and wonderful. I wish a Canadian supplier could carry this or find some way to duplicate it. It's close to an RY4, but richer.
Outside of that I've tried about 30 different types of Juice from various suppliers and have a few "all-day" vapes that I can live with until customs decides to lighten up on their inspection practices.
Anyhow.. that's me.. I've been lurking for a while, but figured it's time I actually posted something.
