Still blinking when fireing it :( tried while while harger was attached too. Aspire coil with egrip pin in it fires, but burns at first hit

I got a couple of burnt hits using the BVC coils too, but if you want to give it another go, try putting the BVC coil back in and holding both of the air inlet holes closed and suck through the drip tip a few times to pull some liquid down into the coil. It doesn't wick very fast with a fresh coil so you may have to help it out a bit... I keep doing it and watching the air bubbles float up until I get a slightly gurgly sound starting, which lets me know its ready. Better gurgly first hit then a dry burnt one that ruins the taste of the coil IMO! Of course, I know you would probably want them to work with the eGrip coils and there is maybe something wrong with it... but I dunno, I'm inclined to believe it has to do with the eGrip coil if it will fire a BVC coil?? The device seems a little finicky sometimes, I had some power issues but never could figure out what it was that was causing it. Hasn't happened lately so I dunno...

eGrip RBA Delivered this morning (ordered less then 24 hours ago from Cignot). Just a few unboxing pics with all the "little things"... Cotton, extra pre-made coils, few other things for the future.

Just installed and this thing is a bowl of rice crispies, snap crackle pop, huge flavor, big clouds of vapor. Should be included with the eGrip kit.

Next up... Im going to try and make a higher ohm coil.

I agree about better to gurgle in the beginning rather than burn up the coil. I do what you suggested everytime I replace a coil in anything to avoid ruining a new coil :) this time I even went for a lil extra gurgle . And yea, I'd like it to work with it's own coils even though I probably will use aspire coils since I love them and keep em on hand for my silo lite tanks. I would hate for it to fizzle out totally after warranty has run out and be totally out a mod!
I got a response from the vendor. A lil concerned because he asked 'what the screen says when I push the button' - I know I explained the situation clearly stating what kind of mod it was and he should know that he would know there is no screen... ugh... and I had to email back asking for a RMA # since he didn't give me one, he only gave me the address. I have my fingers crossed that this returned and replacement goes well...
Now I'm placing an order for thr rba, probably get that before my replacement though:-/

I'm tempted, but I think I'll wait for some user reviews. I still get some dry hits, but I'm not sure I want to mess with this... More stuff, more fiddling...

I really don't either.. One of my reasons for purchasing the eGrip was to take a break from rebuilding, and have a totally "grab-n-go" device. That said, I just couldn't help but to order one anyway.. :p

EDIT: Damn, that was fast.. I received a shipping notice / tracking # from Cignot already... :)

Seems to wick quick, tried to hit it a bunch of times at 11+ watts, never a dry hit. Time will tell.

Doesn't look like the base comes with the adapter. It should though. Hmm.. I would really like to get one with the adapter so I can squeeze my coils and test them out before putting it inside my device but I still would rather have one right now.

Adapter will be available soon, but it does come with a total of 3 pre-made 1.2 - 1.5 ohm coils. When I have some time today, I'm going to make a 2.0 - 2.2 ohm coil.

This is a dup post, but figured you all would find this helpful.

A few quick notes about performance of this eGrip RBA Base/Coil.

Granted... I've only had this for 3-4 hours now.

1. Flavor is very good
2. Not as "dry" out of the box as the OEM Atomizer heads. More of a moist vapor.
3. The only changes in flavor are getting better as it gets "seasoned"
4. No gurgling, No dry burnt hits. The wicking seems to be very good, keeps up with heavy vaping and higher wattage/voltage settings on eGrip.

5. Airflow is very good, you can also block that air hole to feed more juice easily to coil.

Thanks Tech for posting the link!!! You'd think I would've checked Cignot first since that's where I got my eGrip from but instead I'd been stalking Sweet-Vapes waiting for it to show up. Just ordered from Cig. Vicki is incredibly fast. I love her!!!

Cignot is fast. In fact, I ordered yesterday afternoon, my tracking was never updated by USPS and then this morning Updated - Delivered at 8:30am. Less then 24 hours from order to receipt. Amazon Prime has nothing on Cignot

So I'm on my second replacement eGrip. Firstly, kudos to the 90-day warranty and for my local B&M for honoring it both times.

In any event, when I went in the second time the store clerk said, "let me guess, the charging port came lose" Anyway, he guessed right. When unplugging it and plugging it in, after a while the bracket that holds the micro usb port in place comes loose and push it into the device making it unable to charge. Apparently the store has had a lot of people exchange them for this reason. The store clerk said that joyetech has fixed the issue for newer devices that are made, and he gave me one of those. Anyway, just thought I would share the experience in case others have had problems with the charging port

Yep. Just replaced one of mine last night for the same reason. Fortunately, my B&M is terrific (Cignot) and I went on my merry way in 10 minutes with a replacement! All is working great.
