New Joyetech 20watt eGrip

Just got my Vape mail 
eGrip RBA....I put it in right away...4 extra screws, 2 pre-made coils extra already wicked, spare wire and wick material.
Let it sit about 3-5 minutes before taking a drag....HOLY
NOW I know why people like the RBA's (including other brands) this is WOW ....and of course I took it to 20w....sizzle/crackle/pop....WOW, the taste is GREAT and the cloud 
Any one know how many wraps and wire size ?
Had trouble even with my glasses and magnifier....

I got my RBA base today as well. I am using the pre-installed coil and wick for now, which is hitting great, but I will make my own coil once I get the RBA adapter. The draw is pretty airy for my personal taste, but its tolerable. The airflow control on the mod does not do anything for the RBA base like others have stated. I kinda feel like if I could find a small screw with a hole in the middle (does that even exist?), that could make the air inlet hole on the bottom of the base smaller and produce a tighter draw. I tried putting the screw from the current airflow hole inside (doesn't work, too small) and the additional screws that came with the RBA base (also too small) to see if it would work but they don't. I also tried the airflow screw from one of my Kayfuns, but those are too big. Either way, the screws cover the entire hole so the airflow is completely gone... so yea, something that could plug it up from the bottom that also has a small hole would work. I feel like Joyetech could probably come out with a simple fix, yea something like a silicone plug with a hole or a screw with a hole... or something that would fit into the little slot and hole that comes with different sized holes.. I dunno. I'm gonna look around in my box of random crap to see if anything will fit or work. For now, slightly covering the hole with my finger helps but I'd like something more permanent. Joyetech could come out with a revised base that doesn't use the air inlet hole on the bottom of the base and instead have a closed off hole and uses air holes similar to the ones on the original base, that way we could use the airflow control on the device like before. Just a thought.. doesn't seem like it'd be that hard of a modification. But yea, this thing hits awesome. Too bad I don't like airy draws.
Oh yea... for those of you wanting a tighter draw with the RBA, a smaller bore drip tip is a quick fix for now. I just switched my drip tip out and it helped.

Skunk, the wire that comes supplied with it is 0.3mm diameter.
The egrip sure does perform with the rba base, no complaints here at all
ETA - I made a wedge from a piece of toothpick and put it in the rba base air hole to adjust the air flow, its working well.

I just picked mine up at Sweet Vapes today. Will be ordering one of the 510 adapters this weekend, so I'm able to build my own
And ye gawds... Holy Airdraw, Drunkenbatman! That is one spot the design is wonky: should have used the same air control as the stock coils. But I'm still happy with it

Yes, a little airy on the draw and a smaller diameter tip may be the easy quick fix....we'll see when I hit the vape shop.

I'm glad I got my free juice from the Apollo "give-a-way" and I got the 0mg nic juice to cut my 6mg nic some since I'm working to 0 anyway. AND now going to have to revisit some of my past flavors that were soso (Apple Pie comes to mind).....hows the Mio commercial go ?

Wouldn't the silicone grommet from, say...a kanger evod coil, fix the airflow of the rba? That has a hole that would restrict the airflow right?
I'm wondering if some loosely packed cotton may work also ? Temporarily ?
Hmm.. I just tried what you suggested. I found what I think is an Evod coil (not really sure) and took out the silicone grommet. It is too large to fit in the hole... and would require very nimble hands to smush it together to push it through. Even then, it would be too smushed together and restrict the airflow too much. However... I clipped off a bit of the silicone with a nail clipper, leaving just one little chunk of the silicone below the rim. It fits and seems to help, but it's not in there flush. But I bet if you clipped the silicone a little more carefully, you could get it flush in there. This will do for now. I tried the toothpick wedge too which works as well, however it can easily get stuck deep inside the hole and is annoying to remove.
I'm really looking forward to receiving my recent order for this little/big performer. Looking forward especially to the much increased airflow over the tai, kay, 91 class of rtas. I get that some folks like a restricted airflow for MTL hitting and that's great too but I often hear that with additional airflow comes reduced flavor. Not so imo. Increased airflow can be compensated for easily with increased power; something more readily available in batts today than just a year ago. Increased airflow with increased power settings allows for greater vapor production without sacrificing flavor in my experience. Also if you're producing twice the vapor battery life is not effected either because your draw time is halved. The biggest difference between MTL hitting and Lung hitting I have noticed is control. Control over the vaping temperature at the coil and control over the feed rate of juice from the tank is much easier to modulate with lung hitting. I don't plan on performing mods to the atty/tank assembly but if I do it will be to drill out the air passages. My 2¢

All I did with mine was run water thru it without taking anything apart.
I tried that first but got water in the device. I took it assort to try to get the water out. After sewing how easy it is to remove the tank section, I would rather do that then risk getting water in it and ruining my precious.
Yeah, I'm thinking when I need to clean the tank, a syringe suck and flush will work.
I'm not taking it apart until it dies.

Put the RBA in it earlier today, and loved it. Just refilled the tank, and it's leaking through the RBA's airhole

I find removing the entire tank to be a bit troublesome. I've washed my tank out many times without trouble except for the very first time, which rendered my mod unusable for a few hours. I thought I broke it. My advice is, cover up your USB port with a rubber/silicone USB plug OR I found putting a piece of scotch tape over it works even better. I've pretty much covered my entire device with water, I think as long as it doesn't get into the USB port, you're good. Tape keeps it covered very well and easily removed. Do not get water in the USB port, mine did not function after I got water in it, luckily it wasn't a lot and it dried off and worked fine after. But I think if you get too much water in it, it may not be recoverable. I don't see a need to remove the tank if you don't have to.
