How? How could you have managed to break the glass on this? I have GOT to hear how that happened!

Threw it at my wife and missed.........just kidding. Dropped it on concrete from waste high. Fumble fingers.

Vicki at cignot has shipoed a new glass already. What an angel!

So I tried to get the top cover off and its stuck. There's a little metal post that protrudes down from the top cover into the plastic switch assembly which it preventing the top from being removed. HELP!

This scares me the most and why I'm thinking about a cover ;)

I cut a slice of a 3ml bottle nipple to fit in the hole in the base. It limits the airflow some by blocking the slots. Now if I can get a slice of this coffee stirrer in that center hole...! :pWasn't this going to be the all in one...! Can't please us all. Tape might just be the best bet.
It seems anyone with that silicone case cold just cut a piece of thin plastic to fit the bottom and pierce it.

Armadillo, a magnet won't stick to that base.

Remove the small torx screws from the top panel and the entire tank section can easily be pulled out. I did this a couple hours ago to change flavors from a menthol to a non menthol. While I was at it, I rebuilt the coil. 28awg 13 wrap 1/16th micro. After installing, I screwed the rba base back in. With the tank section removed I was able to reach through the device and test fire and squeeze the coil together. Wicked it up and vaping up a storm!

I thought he/she posted pictures, but can't find them.

So I was bored at work. To clean the tank, take the top cover off. Tank slides right out! Pretty thick glass!
The rba chimney has 4 feed holes for juice. 2 of them line up with the wick, the other 2 are behind the terminals. I re-wicked with shiseido cotton and stuffed a little bit behind the terminal feed holes. Hopefully this solves my leaking issue.
To the airflow issues, I am used to a much more open draw! Straight lung hits. Almost like I forgot how to do mouth to lung hits. The airflow on the rba is so much better than the stock base, for me. YMMV.
I can see how the airflow could be opened up on the stock base but it raises some questions. If you cut the tube off the bottom base. Drill out the hole in the base. Drill out the hole under the base. Drill out the holes in the stock base. It might be close to the draw of the rba. Would you possibly get battery vapors in the airstream?
If you remove the airtube from the top cover, it could be shortened where it press fits to the top. Then you could use other heads.
See above pics!

Another post..........

Well... I have successfully made the RBA base utilize the same breather system as the stock base!

What I did was compare the two, and drill holes (using a pin vise) in the RBA. One note if you want to do your own: those holes have to go at a downward angle, not straight in. Then complete disassembly (so you can clean out any shavings, which will cause a short), reassemble and away you go.

I used a piece of electrical tape across the bottom to block the bog hole: place tape, then use your fingernail to press the tape into the edge. Use an x-acto to cut around that depression. And now you have the RBA with the same air adjustment as the stock base!

So I got the top cover off to replace the glass based on instructions quoted below from Vicki at Cignot.

"There is indeed a screw and you do need to break it. So use a flat bladed screwdriver and pop it off. The only way to remove that screw is to unscrew the bottom and unsolder the motherboard... not worth it."

Yes, there's a virtually inaccessible extra screw under the top cover that has to be stripped out to remove the top cover. Once you do that the screw rattles around in the device. Did this and now my egrip won't power up. Sending it back.

Well it appears that I've solved almost all of my leaking issues. Got home from work a few hours ago and decided to scrutinize what I could see without complete disassembly. Under a bright light I could see some unidentifiable white substance contamination on the interior mating surface where the coil/rba assembly seats and seals. I scraped this off easily with a toothpick, filled the tank and reassembled. No detectable leaks for 3 hours or so now.

Just for grins though I did remove the drip tip and invert the egrip and let it sit for 10 or so minutes. It leaked in this position. Not much of an issue for pocket carry but packed loosely elsewhere could be. Not a huge deal for me but still a defect imo.

As I've stated before though it's a great vape with the rba and overall I'm happy with the device.

What makes you say that? I obviously tested whether the steel screw in the base is magnetic and it is.

Because mine isn't enough to hold a round neo-whatever they are called.
I just tried a little rectangle of strip magnet, like the backing for refrigerator ad magnets. It's staying, but it might be liquid holding it in place.;)

Well, I used the screw of the RBA and held it to a neodymium disk upside down and it would hold the screw's weight no problem. I had to shake it to get it dislogded. I'm optimistic it will stay in place. These magnets are cheap and I ordered 10 each of 3 different sizes of ring magnets with a 1 mm inner hole (all for $10 with ). So not a huge loss if it doesn't work. If it works I will post instructions.

If anyone is interested, there is now a silicone cover for the eGrip and it is FANTASTIC!! I got mine from VapeNW for $3.99, and it's the best $4 I've spent in a long time. Fits like a glove, shipped lightening fast from vendor, and adds "gripability" as well as some cool colors if you're so inclined. I got the hot pink, and here's my eGrip with the cover and a rainbow drip trip from Vapor Beast:

The color of the cover and the drip tip are actually much better than the pic shows. I have a lousy camera and even worse photo skills!
