Well it appears that I've solved almost all of my leaking issues. Got home from work a few hours ago and decided to scrutinize what I could see without complete disassembly. Under a bright light I could see some unidentifiable white substance contamination on the interior mating surface where the coil/rba assembly seats and seals. I scraped this off easily with a toothpick, filled the tank and reassembled. No detectable leaks for 3 hours or so now.

Just for grins though I did remove the drip tip and invert the egrip and let it sit for 10 or so minutes. It leaked in this position. Not much of an issue for pocket carry but packed loosely elsewhere could be. Not a huge deal for me but still a defect imo.

As I've stated before though it's a great vape with the rba and overall I'm happy with the device.

Congrats on your success and tenacity! If the white substance was rubbery it's probably the white silcone they use to keep the battery from rattling around inside the device. Had some on my threading as well.

I see they are now selling pre-made coils for the rba, 5 coils for $3.75, a great introduction for people getting into rba's:

Good for those who are worried about building coils.

The eGrip RBA 510 Adapter is only $5, nice. Its like they are trying to encourage people to get into rba's rather than sell coil heads. Interesting!

Happy New Year to everyone here! Btw I rebuilt my coil in the eGrip with my own 30 gauge kanthal wire and Rayon (cellulose cotton) without using what was supplied. 9 wraps on my trusty oversized paperclip tool that I typically use to build micro coils in my Reo minis and I was at 1.4 ohms. This is perfect for the eGrip and the taste is amazing!

Confirmed a couple of things when replacing a broken glass tank in an Egrip. Thought I'd take a moment to share them with you all.

1. You do need to strip out a fifth "hidden" screw on later model Egrips after removing the four #5 torx screws that hold on the top cover. The top cover will raise up about 2mm then the hidden screw will prevent removal. Prying firmly with two flat blade screwdrivers (one on each side of the unit) between the cover and body will strip out the hidden screw.

2.The unit needs to be gently blown out with compressed air to remove the metal shavings from the stripped screw. Mine wouldn't power on until I blew it out.

3. All the glass chips must be removed from the device and the silicone tank seals. Some chips are hard to see because they can become embedded in the seals.

4. To reassemble the top cover make sure that the two shorter course thread screws are inserted near the power button and the longer fine thread screws are inserted near the tank.. Carefully start the screws as straight as possible. They cross-thread Very easily.

Hope this helps

I think the RBA was a fix to the poor feed of the egrip heads, just like the bending adapter was eleaf's fix to the poor threads on the istick. Nice twist to both.

Doesn't this bite
With my RBA they send me a ViviNova tank....IF I was getting a "gift", wouldn't the 510 adapter be a better choice ?

Anyone need a tank with 2 coils...new in box ? green tank BTW.
GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA[emoji769] 3.5ml V2.5 REBUILDABLE TANK [gv-VIVINOVA-TANKV2.5] - $12.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Wow, what a bad attitude. Wahhhh.
No one wants Vivi Novas. They can't sell those. That's why it was free.
Now, the 510 adapters, those they can sell.
You should be grateful for the gift. Buy the adapter. It's only a few bucks mr. greedy.

All I'm gonna say is use paypal with Joyetech IF they have that option, don't use your credit card unless they've fixed their security.

Curious about battery life. How much time do you get for eGrip?

Battery life seems good. I don't use it all the time all day so don't know for sure, but its rated at 1500mAh and I would say that's a true spec. The battery seems to last longer than a full tank of juice, and I'm not recharging as often as I would expect.

I run mine with the RBA at 20 watts, and I consistently get half a tank before recharge - so about 1.5 mls. I'm surprised I get so little out of it, and I guess if I ran it at less watts it would last much longer! However, I'm surprised, because in one review I read he said he got two tanks out of it before recharging (he said around 8 mls) - could there be something wrong with mine?

Just talked with a friend who bought it couple of days ago. He vapes at 11w and he gets around 1 and 1/4 tank before battery goes dead. I guess you can get more time by vaping at 8w.
He also told me that it's not real "passthrough" device. If your battery is completely discharged and you connect it you can't start vaping right away, but you have to wait a little bit. Can anyone else confirm this?

I'm thinking of getting it. I usually vape aroung 6 mls so I think I can get at least a half day with it.

No, probably not a problem. When you run higher wattage you're using more power and will run down quicker. Also, using lower resistance coils will put more of a draw on your battery power. You can use the egrip has a pass through when it is plugged in and charging - you can boost up your power a little bit as you're near power, then unplug and hit the road.

I'm using about a 2.8 ohm coil and at the lowest setting I can get one and a half to two tanks. But I frequently bump it up which does lower how much time I get.
