«The rest of the story is that this poorly conducted study is going to do great public health damage. It is going to add to the propaganda campaign that aims to demonize e-cigarettes, and which is using severely biased research to try to discredit the solid evidence that e-cigarettes can and do help many smokers quit smoking. This is further evidence that ideology has become more important than science in the modern anti-smoking movement.»

Is this the same piece of garbage I found on Web MD?

(Replace the "**" with "tt" for proper link).
I posted this response on their FB page:

Your "article "E-Cigarettes May Not Help Smokers Quit tobacco" is pure propaganda. I gave up a 35 year, pack a day habit with an ecig. I gave up nicotine 6 months after that too. There are thousands and thousands of people like me. You aren't out to help people be healthy. You're just shilling for the trillion $ American medical establishment. Your industry is a soulless as the coal and oil industry of the early 20th century. It's a shame so many people in the country are too brainwashed to see that. I hope I live long enough to see your whole rotten industry collapse under the weight of your own bloat and corruption.

This is the 'dual user'/'renormalized' PR being rehashed and an attempt to give that some "credence" through junk science.

Again, in the HELP hearing this is what Zeller's 'fallacy' was - remember my extracting his 'syllogism' :

Same thing and same illogic - they 'care about their health' so therefore they will continue to smoke!!

One doesn't need 'competing studies' - just point out the ridiculousness of their 'illogic'. :)

It also advances the WHO's "final solution" - complete eradication of "smoking" (read - "nicotine").
