Anybody using these? I thought I was ordering the old style (at least that is what they showed in the photo) and got them yesterday and they are the new style. I've been using them all day and don't think they allow as much flavor, and I have to dial down the volts or I get a burnt taste. I'm using the 2.0ohm ones.

And, can I soak these in everclear like I did the old style?

Thanks for any comments!

Have you considered re-coiling and re-wicking? I switched to the rebuilt and there is a big difference in quality in every aspect. It is a little discouraging the first few tries (for "little discouraging" read total failure) but now I can whip them out pretty quick. I never rebuild using duals all singles I just put a little extra wick (rayon or cotton) to fill the gaps.

Got these with my new Aerotank. They work very well, even better than the aspire duals, but have a reliability problem. I got 2 with my tank, the first one was a dud, the second one worked great. Until the top coil burned out after a week. I'm trying a box of 5 out next to see if they go the same route.

The new style works pretty ok until it starts gurgling. As it seems, the internal wicks are put exactly at the same level and position as the holes (obviously) to act as a seal and also as a transport for the liquid to get into the coils. Once you draw too much or the wicks become partially saturated or even move from that position, it will start gurgling. A little frustrating to say at least.

I started to rebuild them myself (as single coil and dual coil version). I did a least 10-15 rebuilds testing what would suit me most and contrary to most, I haven't been having any luck with thicker (28awg) microcoils (probalby do to the use of VW). Heck, even the 32awg single microcoils don't produce nearly as much as vapor as stock ones for any reasonably amount of thime so I got frustrated and just put the stock ones back in... I was ready to live with them when they started to gurgle. In a moment of complete dispair and anger, I rebuilt one with two 32awg coils (3 Ohms each) directly on a wick (no more precision screwdrivers, pre-burning, nothing). I didn't even care aligning the turns of the coils. I just slapped them inside, snipped of the excess wick and bottom legs and threw it into a aerotank... due to my complete sloppiness and frustration, the resistance is variable (lol)... it depends if I screw the atty more or less into the base (it varies between 1.4 Ohms and 2.4 Ohms) BUT... ITS THE BEST VAPE I EVER HAD IN FOUR YEARS!

I don't know, sometimes I think we are over doing this stuff... if you forget the variable Ohms (due to the legs being not cut short enough and because the mini aerotank starts rotating the lower pin when you screw it on a mod/battery causing shorts, variable resistance and God knows what else), it has been my best ever rebuild... I have tons of vapor, crackling sound as the coils ignite and no gurgling or dry hits... go figure

Best Regards
Tony

PS: Vaping at 10W btw.

No plans to re-coil, though I have considered rewicking, took one of the old ones apart and couldn't imagine how to get cotton into the bottom coil. The top coil is more accessible.

Thanks Tony, but I'm just not going to get that involved, I enjoy using the premade coils and soaking them and reusing them over and over.

So what I really want to know is:
Can I soak these new style ones in everclear like the old ones and use them over and over?
I also have a bunch of the old style ones (used) left and does it help to just replace the wick on top of the coils? I have some organic cotton and would love to be able to rewick these, but it seems impossible to get cotton into the bottom coil.

I really do hope that Kanger and Aspire can restore the reliability of their coils. Too many fail with rising resistance due to the silver solder connections between the non-resistive legs and the center resistive coil deteriorating. I'd like to see all atomizer manufacturers switch to welded connections for coils with non-resistive legs. In an industrial environment you'd think they would automate that process and do away with soldered legs.

Do you dry burn them too if not I suggest you should.

I have not had success dry burning them. I will try again, my old coils will be fine if I can dry burn the coils clean. How do you dry burn these dual coils? Just put them on and hit the button until you see them smoking?

I do 4v with them no problem. I tested them chain vaping at 5v when I first got an aerotank mini, and that was fine too.

and no burnt flavor using a low resistance at a high voltage? I used the older style 2.0 ohm dual coils at 4.0 no problem, but now the new style, same 2.0 ohms, seems to deliver a burnt flavor at higher than 3.8 volts. Not happy about this, I WANT MY OLD COILS BACK, waa. I guess they are not making them anymore, seems we should have been able to decide if we want the new ones or not.
