I'm thinking in something like the Aerotank Mega, which looks empty when it's "full", these will displace more space in the base. Could make it "look" reasonably full without actually reducing capacity.

Good thinking. That could be exactly what happens with the mega... looks fuller. I know that will have nothing to do with vape quality or juice capacity, but I agree that would be a nice benefit. We'll just have to wait and see.

Nice thought except that square coil base isnt going to displace much more than maybe a quarter of a ml compared to the standard bdc. I could see maybe tossing a ss lock washer or similar ring in the void to accomplish that displacement you're after though.

Looks like Kanger renamed the BPDC coils to OCC and are not compatible with other tanks. Have a look on Kanger Online site.

"Attention: The updated Organic Cotton Coil OCC unit are not capable with other clearomizers."

I am not happy about that. I was really hoping to use these coils in my Kanger Mega tanks.

thanks for posting. I did see that yesterday.

I've seen several release dates for this: one said 12/15; the other 2nd or 3rd week December. (updated today)

The more info that comes out on these Kanger tanks, the less that i think they will be as good as the Aspire. I just found out today that Aspire is coming out with a 1.0 ohm coil in the near future. That will make me very happy as I am not really into sub ohming.

The only thing that concerns me with the with coils is filler material. That is why I am staying away from Aspire.

Heads are now called OrganicCotton Coil heads (OCC). The page says Japanese cotton.

And the crushing blow for me .... Attention: The updated Organic Cotton Coil OCC unit are not capable with other clearomizers.

Makes my decision easy as I don't want a 25mm clear. I will wait for a smaller option.

While I'm disappointed hat Kanger has changed the coil and made them incompatible with older tanks, I think there is a very good chance they will do a similar design that will work with older clearos. I don't have any inside knowledge and haven't heard any rumors but just based on their past history I think this will happen. I also think if the new coils won't work with their older tanks, they must have a compelling reason they did this. Like the new coils will significantly outperform the original SubOhm coil design. So while mildly disappointed, I'll bet they bring a better product to the market as a result so I'll wait and see what gets released and how good it is.

One thing is clear though, the Atlantis has seriously raised the bar for tanks and if Kanger changed their design it was to make sure it was a serious competitor in this market space, and will possibly be a leader. Time will tell.

The two way seems kind of pointless to me unless it is amazing. I don't think I will like building on this more than on my rbas that are full time rba. I don't mind having a separate Clearomizer for when I need it. Add to that it is enormous and It is just not for me. To me this is a hype product. I think a lot of people will see it that way.

I am however very interested in seeing the new head style on their other tanks

For those of us who are transitioning from a clearomizer to a rba, it works well. I want the flexibility or a clearomizer, but I also want the ability to build my own coil. If I fail at building a coil, I can always screw in a clearo. There is a market out there and I am one of those.:)

Can't say I'm really interested in a 25mm tank. Just not a good fit for my mods. But I'm very interested in trying these coils in the Aerotank Mega. That should provide a nice vape upgrade for an older tank and I'm anxious to give them a try.

don't think they will fit anything except the subtank. i do think they will come out with some coils that will work like aspire did with the bvc coils for the nautilus. they then came out with bvc for the regular aspire tanks. that is what kanger will do but you can't take the subtank coil and put it in a aero mega until they make a coil for that tank. that's the way they should do it- you don't want someone using an ego twist and a protank throwing this .5ohm coil in the protank and trying to vape with it. and you know that's what some folks would do....kanger(and aspire with the atlantis tank and their coils which only work in the atlantis) is just being smart....and safe....

You're right about the new OCC coils not fitting the Aerotanks Peter, but when I made my post saying I wanted to try them in an Aerotank that was before the OCC coil redesign and the coils Kanger originally designed for the Subtank were advertised to fit.

As far as not being safe to make a coil for older tanks that are .5ohm, I don't get your point at all. Since the new Subtank has a 510 connector, that will fit on an ego anyway. Granted it would look silly as hell, but silly doesn't stop stupid. I guess the only thing that can be done is adequate warning on the box (which the Atlantis should have done better) and hope the Ego user can read. But I do agree that would be totally unsafe.

Honestly after looking at this if someone asked me the best path to rebuildabales I would say keep the clearo you have and get you a Lemo. They are cheap and most importantly easy as heck to build. They are even super forgiving on wicking. I have not tried the subtank yet but I don't see it looking easier than a Lemo

I think if kanger put out the best tank to ever be made in the history of vaping, the aspire fans would still say negative stuff. It's too large.... but in reality, less capacity than the nautilus. It's innovative, so it must be hype. :p

Anyway, has anyone seen one of these at an actual store yet or just pre-order status online still? I'm curious if we'll see it locally before Christmas? A local shop says he's bringing in 10 to start but that will be a while.

Any rumours on a kanger brand mod to drive this thing? if not, what do you think would be a good battery for it?
