So I just spent all this money for a new Provari P3 with a new Kayfun4. But it tastes terrible. I tried 3 different coil builds but they all taste the same....TERRIBLE!!! I am using 28 gauge wire with some japanese cotton. I tried 6, 7 and 8 wraps wrapped around a 2mm post. I get lots and lots of smoke but just no flavor at all. I stick my nautilus tank on with the same juice and it tastes so good.
I watched all kinds of build videos and they all say it tastes so good when they are done building it.
What could I be doing wrong and anyone have any suggestions for the Kayfun?

its ok cuz it will be leaking soon, mine is back in the box forever

You're a ham that runs a rig that requires tuning, "tune" your v4. Don't let the equipment concur you, concur the equipment :)

@mrjayd;
Could be the machining oil as mentioned but I found the v4 to be very sensitive as to how it's wicked. I find most Kayfuns (v4 included) work best at the 1.2-1.5 ohm range. I run my v4 at 1.5 ohms and my coil is 8 wraps @ 3mm I.D.

Wicking should hang so that it just touches the juice ports and is thick enough that it fills the area inside the ring. It's possible that the taste you're getting is burnt cotton from the wick running dry. Next time you try rebuilding, take your old cotton out and see if it's really dark where it made contact with the coil.

I have an authentic K4. Dont seem to have any alcohol in the house so I am going to try and just boil the parts in a pot on the stove and then clean good with soap and water with a soft toothbrush and try it again. if it still taste bad I will try alcohol or get a sonic cleaner.

Alcohol won't hurt the o-rings. Soak it for like an hour to break up the oil. Do you have a clone or authentic K4 ?
