Hi, I just got my first E-cig about 3 days ago and have a few questions that I couldn't find the answers to. After going through these forums for a couple of days I decided on getting a KGO starter kit and was pretty psyched when it came. The one which I got was a 3-piece and from what I read, I can usually get around 100 puffs per cartridge. But once I started I only get about 10 puffs before I need to top off or drip. When I open the cartidge, there seems to still be alot of juice still in it but Im missing that consistent vaping feel. Before E-cigs, I was more of a chain-smoker and I was wondering if I might have been doing something wrong.

I would just use the atomizer for dripping directly. You will need a drip tip, available everywhere pretty much, and drop a couple drops straight on the metal mesh in there and you'll get a few draws.

The best thing I think I can recommend from here it to get some Boge or Smoktech cartomizers. These are essentially the two pieces you have that are made together. Much more potential IMO.

You topping off the cartridges is pretty normal. No worries.

For a former heavy smoker the claim of 100 puffs is way exaggerated. When I used cartos, I too had to drip in ten drops or so after about ten puffs too. Your situation may be normal. If you need to chain vape, you might want to get a tank or something that holds more juice and perhaps a stronger battery. However you said your cartos seemed to be full when you checked them.This may be that the juice hasn't filtered down to the wick area yet. Just keep them wet and they should be ok as long as you don't let them dry out.

Or, if you don't want to sit and nurse a drip constantly, buy some Vision Ego Clearomizers or Startdusts (about $5 each), and vape away. They are clear and have no filler material, you can see exactly how much juice is left, no need to top off. Just refill when the tank starts to get empty. Can't be simpler!

I am not sure exactly how long they last, because I have been using 3 in rotation for a month and none of them have died yet! But they are considered "consumables" like all atomizers, so they don't last "forever".

Thanks for the quick reply! I thought I was doing something wrong since I kept topping off/ dripping every 3 or 4 puffs. :unsure: I already ordered some C2 cartomizers, extra atomizers and drip tips which will be coming in sometime next week. Cant wait to get them now :laugh:
Since I currently dont have a drip tip, would it still work the same if I just take out the plastic pieces in a carttridge and try and drip it through that?

Im also a chain-smoker so I thought the 1100Mah battery would be a good start. Do you have any recommendations for a tank and stronger battery?

Hi Home, I'm also a heavy smoker and recent convert to a KGO. I've been using BOGE cartos, and do find that I have to top them off more often than I thought I might but it's all good. After the initial saturation fill (I use the condom method) it takes but a minute to pop the mouthpiece off and drip in more juice when it starts feeling dry. I leave it sitting vertically for a while so the juice can settle.

How I fill a 510 Boge cartomizer - YouTube

Yesterday I was at an outdoor party all day so I charged both batteries and had two pvs going so I could alternate. That did me just fine on the 100 mile drive without having to top off. My next order I'm thinking of trying a Clearomizer. I think part of the fun is experimenting and trying to figure out what works best for you!

Edit: What strength juice are you using? I tried some lower strength (18 mg) and it just wasn't giving me enough of a hit, which made the carto feel "dry" even when it wasn't.

I think the OP is using cartridges and atty.
It's a standard kit, usually packed with two atty, 10 cartridges. Go get yourself some cartomizers. LR ones. Boge LR or Smoktech single coil LR a.k.a. RESSURECTORs. 2.0ohm or lower. Cartridges are well known to be unreliable way to vape.

Smoktech sells a fairly inexpensive model, as well as the Chibi. There's a slight difference in that the Smoktech has hard plastic ends (delrin) and o-rings where the Chibi has grommets. Both sell for ~$10. The only thing about the Smoktech ones is they usually come with dual coil 1.5 ohm cartos, which I personally don't like. For me it's the 1.7 ohm Smoktech cartos for the most consistent burn and vape. Tank will last me a couple days before needing refilling. Cartos last me several refills too.

I usually get my cartos from Crystal Clear Vaping in bulk (they also have the Smoktech tanks);
