Today's announcement of New 2.0 ohm and 3.0 ohm tank Replacement Cartos should at least in the case of the 3.0 ohms resolve any issues when used with Passthroughs.
This is not an issue of Dual Coil vs Single Coil, but simply of the higher Ohm ratings which lowers the amperage. Wow cartos run at approx. 2.2 ohms, so at 2.0 ohms the Carto is drawing 2.5 amps so the jury is out on that one for use with a Passthrough. I would advise to avoid using this with your Passthrough even if it does work.
1.5 Ohm Dual Vertical Coil Tank Cartomizers: Perfect for your Diamond and Stealth Series Batteries
2.0 Ohm Single Vertical Coil Tank Cartomizers: The answer to scorching most juices with the 5v OMG and should help when it comes to any over-heating issues by dropping the amperage by almost a full point. (we shall see) Can be used with your Diamond and Steath Series batteries, should slow down juice consumption a little, and improve battery performance life. Might be able to use it on your Passthrough...but I would advise against it...it will probably (will) scorch some of your juices.
3.0 Ohm Single Vertical Coil Tank Cartomizers: The solution to using a tank on your Passthrough, the solution to completely eliminating any chance of juices scorching with your 5v OMG, the elimination of any issues of over-heating batteries.
Of course, this is all just theory...but hey, it sounds good so I'm going with it.
*** Do not use any Tank with an Auto Passthrough...ever !!!! Don't do it.....
*** Tank use with Passthoughs should only be used with a USB Wall Wart.
Don't risk your motherboard... Passthoughs are cheap...computers are not. It's not the Ohms, but the risk of shorting out your battery if by a rare occurrence your tanks leaks for any reason. While the connector is sealed juice could still get inside your Passthrough by entering through the button hole.
