Today's announcement of New 2.0 ohm and 3.0 ohm tank Replacement Cartos should at least in the case of the 3.0 ohms resolve any issues when used with Passthroughs.

This is not an issue of Dual Coil vs Single Coil, but simply of the higher Ohm ratings which lowers the amperage. Wow cartos run at approx. 2.2 ohms, so at 2.0 ohms the Carto is drawing 2.5 amps so the jury is out on that one for use with a Passthrough. I would advise to avoid using this with your Passthrough even if it does work.

1.5 Ohm Dual Vertical Coil Tank Cartomizers: Perfect for your Diamond and Stealth Series Batteries

2.0 Ohm Single Vertical Coil Tank Cartomizers: The answer to scorching most juices with the 5v OMG and should help when it comes to any over-heating issues by dropping the amperage by almost a full point. (we shall see) Can be used with your Diamond and Steath Series batteries, should slow down juice consumption a little, and improve battery performance life. Might be able to use it on your Passthrough...but I would advise against it...it will probably (will) scorch some of your juices.

3.0 Ohm Single Vertical Coil Tank Cartomizers: The solution to using a tank on your Passthrough, the solution to completely eliminating any chance of juices scorching with your 5v OMG, the elimination of any issues of over-heating batteries.

Of course, this is all just theory...but hey, it sounds good so I'm going with it. :2cool:

*** Do not use any Tank with an Auto Passthrough...ever !!!! Don't do it.....

*** Tank use with Passthoughs should only be used with a USB Wall Wart.

Don't risk your motherboard... Passthoughs are cheap...computers are not.
It's not the Ohms, but the risk of shorting out your battery if by a rare occurrence your tanks leaks for any reason. While the connector is sealed juice could still get inside your Passthrough by entering through the button hole.

Yes, thanks for the information :) Couldn't have come at a better time, too :)

BTW, is using any tank still a "no-no" on auto diamond and stealth batteries? Most of my collection is auto with a few older manuals and like 3 newer manual diamond/stealth batts I bought with my OMG...or did you answer it in your informative post and I failed to glean the info?

Hey Kanza... I did address this recently on another post and the answer is a little wishy washy so bare with me. Similar to using an Auto battery for those that use juice I would advise not using a Tank with an Auto Battery immediately after topping-off a Tank or after filling a fresh Tank.

These are the 2 times when a Tank is the most prone to leak from juice getting in the Air Tube. Outside of these 2 specific times as long as the Tank appears dry and in proper working order, you can see light when looking through the Air Tube, using an Auto should be fine. However, if the Tank does leak...for whatever reason...it will surely kill your Auto Battery.

:2cool: It's good to have you back.....

Whistles sir if it's at 2.0 ohms with 5v coming from the pt it's 12.5w. Still pushing it with some flavors, but closer to the range of a wow carto. Can't answer on the OMG because.... Will discuss this afternoon when I get home. :)

No you shouldn't have to Ms. Mmc will be more like using a pt with a wow carto if it puts out the same load voltage it did with cool carts.

Since some of the new replacements are single coil cartos, does it stand to reason that they might work with the V4L logo batteries. The batteries with the ash tips? Has anyone tried this yet?

If so this could be a great opportunity for those that cannot reinvest into diamonds and stealths right away.
Makes sense that the older model batteries have issues getting up the umph to push a DC but the single coils are an entirely different breed.

SIC0 sir the 3.0 ohms do work on the ashcap batteries. The 2.0 ohm ones can be hit or miss. Tested a few of these, and the ohm range is +/- .2 ohms whatever they are stated as. In other words-

2.0 ohms- 1.8-2.2ohms
3.0ohms- 2.8-3.2ohms

The vapor king (ashcaps) won't fire the 1.8, 1.9, and 2.0 ohm cartos in all my tests. Will fire 2.1ohms and above.
