New Lavatube 2012 ???

Has anybody seen this? The only reason I've seen it is because I shop with China Manufacturers in bulk (cheaper), and was propositioned to buy this thing. It looks freaking cool, but I'm a bit skeptical. Has any US suppliers bought these to sell? Is this the NEW lavatube 2.0 ?

Let me know what you think, I'm purchasing one to test it out.

I almost ordered me one but then it said it requires stack able batteries so I went ahead with the 18650 lava tube. I really really wanted one to because its green.

I'm a regular GV customer; but I think I'll pass on these. I don't like stacking batteries. I prefer single battery set ups, with a boost circuit.

Don't fret. That's NOT a lavatube and it's not the same thing as a Lavatube, let alone the 2012 Lavatube.
That unit is all plastic, for one thing. It also has a 2.0amp limit and that's a pretty substantial difference from the Lavatube.

The two sites I've seen it on are selling it for $29. So maybe it's an o.k. backup for a Lavatube, but it'll cost you $10 for just one set of batteries and you can get a full blown lavatube kit, including 2 batteries for $20 more. Or, you can get the new 1.5 version for $30 more.

By the time you get 2 sets of batteries in this thing, you'll be saving $10 over what you can get a full lavatube kit with 2 batteries for. And, you'll have an all plastic 2 amp limited PV. Thumbs down from me.
