I'm still new (not even sure I have enough posts to escape the New Members Forum yet ;)) and I'm still finding my groove on eliquids. When I bought my starter kit (KR808D-1), I got some prefilled cartos with an RY4, and some empties, and a small bottle of Watermelon flavor eliquid. Everything was great except that the watermelon flavor was 6mg, and it wasn't quite enough for either me or my wife. So, the following weekend I could feel myself falling into the TRAP. I found a local vendor (VaporPhoxxe; Hi, Alan!) and bought a TW RY4 and Mar Bro flavor liquids from him. The wife digs the Mar Bro, and I dig the RY4. Very nice flavors on both. The Mar Bro was a little too much like a ciggie for me, since I have been hating the smell of the dang things for a while now. Either way, it was great to actually stand there and yap about vaping and get some tips from a veteran vaper. I think I spent about an hour there, just hanging out and talking about everything from soup to nuts, or should I say eliquid to threaded adapters...
That was two weeks ago, and I now find myself nearly out of both flavors. My original prefilled cartos from Azsmokefree are all empty as well, so I've been refilling them with the TW RY4 for me and the Tobacco flavor for the wife.

Last weekend, I decided I should get some more fun flavors, and started looking for a Dr Pepper flavor, since that is what I drink instead of anything else. After reading and reading and READING around here, I placed an order with Vapor Kings for their three 10ml bottle deal. I picked up Banana for a fun one, their Djarum Black, since clove cigarettes are what got me smoking all those years ago back in the 80s when I was smoking Djarum Supers, and the Doc Peppah flavor. I was disappointed this afternoon when I received the order, and found that my Dr Pepper flavor had been replaced by their Double Minty Gum flavor. Well, I tried the minty one since, what the heck, it's here, and Dayum, that's good stuff! We had stopped off at home between trips from an hour that way across town to an hour the other way across town, and I filled the blanks that I also bought with some of each. The banana is a blast. Just makes me giggle every time I puff on it. The Double Minty is VERY spearminty, and my wife LOVES it. The clove one I'm not much into at the moment, but I'm planning on giving it another try tonight when I'm not in a tearing hurry to try all of everything like a 7 year old on Christmas morning.

At this point, I have started a ticket with VK to see if they have run out of the Dr pepper flavor or if it was just a happy accident that they gave me the Double Minty. I'm hoping it was an accident so that I can place another order and get a few new flavors to try :)

I think I'm getting sucked in since Saturday the wife and I have plans to go see Alan over at Vaporphoxxe again and pick up another of the RY4 and the Mar Bro.

Is it possible that this will ever get to the point where it is cheaper than cigarettes?

My initial investment was a shock but after I found flavors I liked I started mixing my own no nic stuff. Granted its not easy and I still keep many purchased flavors on hand with nicotine for those moments I crave a analog. But as far as the costs I belive it tapers off and the saving will show up.

When i quit analogs a pack was $3.60 and a carton was $32.00 before tax. As a 2 1/2 a pack a day ex-smoker Im still ahead after all my purchases. It is more of a hobby to me now that I have been off the analogs. Plus I feel tons better.

Look at it this way is there a price you can put on feeling better, not stinking, having whiter teeth, etc??

Chevello,

I loved reading this! Isn't it cool? Sooooooo much better than smoking EVER was! I'm glad you are enjoying your new e-juices, and isn't banana wonderful? I exclusively vape banana cream, just can't get enough!! I'm also jealous of the cool brick and mortar store you have nearby to "hang out in"! I believe IkenVape may be close to me...have to look into that a bit farther. If so, I'm psyched!!!! =)

Vape On to you and your wife!!!

Yes - eventually. I'm a shopaholic. I think the first couple of months I spent like $500 per month first buying and insanely outfitting and buying spare for an ecig I tossed aside 3 weeks later after which I bought and stocked up 2 different models which I still use. Then the juices - I swear I was getting 1-2 packages every day. And once I had more than filled a whole Plano 3630 box with juices and just ordered more, some part of my head says "I think its time to drop a level" and this happened twice more, each time resulting in me filling a whole box full of juices. Finally I am pretty settled in with my juices and equipment. Anything I buy now is replacement or restock, with the occasional trying of a couple new juices or a new piece of compatible equipment. I shop the sales and I think my cost may finally be less than what I would have spent on smokes.

One thing I found helps is to keep a list of juices you want to try instead of immediately buying on every whim. But in the beginning you need to find what you like, what works well, what satisfies you, and you should do that.

yes it is,,i was smoking a carton{60bux} a week till i got my ego kit,,cut my smoking in half overnight

i have spent approx 200 getting extra batts, chargers, carto's and juice to find what works best for me..

so finding this forum and getting a good ecig has already saved me money in my first month of hard-core vaping

LOL, I am in a similar boat as you. I am on day 10 of vaping, and I am finding start up is more than expected... BUT, then I weigh a) the pros b) the fact that I spent over $6 per day on cigs, sometimes over $12 a day, so my orders for the e-cig are more expensive at one time, but in the long run really won't equal the amount of money I was spending on cigs. Happy vaping :)

I was spending close to $200 a month on cigarettes when I quit a little over a year ago. I figure in the last year I've dropped around $1,200 on vaping stuff, so there is definitely a savings. When I get stocked up, I'll go a month or two without buying anything. I've spent $120 on liquid, $50ish on cartos and $35 on a box mod with batteries (wanted it for a back up) in the last few weeks. It seems like I just have months like this sometimes.

I've got an order of 6 bottles of liquid from TV that will be here either tomorrow or Saturday. It's mostly stuff I've tried so I'm not too excited about it.

Hi Chevello! Welcome to the forum. You have mad enough post here too move to the next level. NJoy :vapor:

ACHIEVEMENT: UNLOCKED!

Lol Chevello....I don't think it ever ends. I've been vaping for nearly a year, and yet today when my new juice order arrived I nearly did the happy dance all the way back to the front door. Of course being so dignified, I contained myself....just until the door was shut.

I have no such dignity, I danced all the way up the driveway. And wasn't out of breath when I got to the house :)

I find myself doing that. : "Hmmm, since Saturday when I placed my last order, I haven't spent 33.00 on smokes. I wonder what I can get for 33 bucks..."

On another note, reading some other threads around here, there seem to be several former three PAD smokers. Where do you find the time to burn through 60 of those things in a day? That is nearly 10 hours of JUST smoking. Wacky.

3ppd/40yr smoker here...I was a long haul trucker and now work for myself, usually outdoors or in the shop...I just always had a funkarette in my hand and if I went out to the bars or partying in the evenings, I could add another pack to that total...I looked and smelled like a smokestak...it's sooooooo much better now, vaping around 4-5ml/16mg/day...........
