Hello and welcome to the forum @tweeder069. Glad to have you here!:)
I'm starting to get into sub ohm vaping and was looking for a place to get info and reviews on mods and tanks.
Check out some articles by TBEC Reviews. Vaping360 - The Home of Vaping and Vape Reviews There is one out there on subΩ tanks and another on box mods. I don't know if there is one out there on temperature control mods.

If you are interested in a mod that uses replaceable batteries I highly recommend you spend some time with @Baditude & @Mooch (two of our resident battery/safety experts) and visit their blogs.

Here are links to some of Mooch's blogs:
* No matter what is printed on the battery wrapper: There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A!
* Links to all his battery tests to date: List of My Battery Tests | Mooch's Blog
* Picking a Safe Battery to Vape With: Table of 18650 Battery Safety Grades | Mooch's Blog

Baditude's Blog - Table of Contents: The blogs that address battery safety, Ohm's Law, CDR (continuous discharge rating/Amps) and how they all work together are detailed below:

BATTERIES

Battery Basics for Mods - The Ultimate Battery Guide
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

Ohm's Law Explained for Vapers
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

really easy with a coil kit. or you can buy a higher powered mod, so it can power tanks like the hercules, phantom,maganus

I know there are mods that are like 200+ watts, at what point does it just become more than needed. Do people actually use all 200-watts in a huge mod like that, or can I do the same thing with a 75-watt mod and not have this huge thing to lug around?

Thanks I will look into that. There is so much here, it's almost like when I walked in my vape shop for the first time and was just completely confused.

According to recent polls of vapers' habits, the vast majority vape under 12 watts. Keep in mind that most of the world's vapers are still using cigalikes and eGo setups. In addition, vaping forums like this one attract the vaping hobbyists and enthusiasts who are inclined to use the more powerful mods, but represent only a minority of the world's vapers.

Todays entry level regulated mods weigh in at about 15 to 20 watts, which will satisfy most vapers. 30 to 50 watts will be plenty for the enthusiasts. Anything over 80 watts is for hardcore folks and bragging rights. I'll probably get flamed here for saying that, but its the truth.

Well, I've been using the Segelei 30-watt and Kanger sub Nano w/ a .5 coil for a while now and it's fine for my daily vape, but I sometimes I would like to produce a bigger cloud.

I often use the Sigelei 30w with some sort of subtank (nano/mini).

It's a nice mod for 22-23mm rebuildable dripping atomizers - I have a Magma on my desk at the moment. That RDA is probably not an outright cloud-chaser, but you can make it do some clouds,.. yup.

Subtanks are possibly not for the 25-30 watt range in comparison to others designed for, say, 30-50 watts. You could try one of them, but then you'd be looking for a 50w mod and then a 75 or 100 even. May as well buy something serious straight away.
