Hi there, just joined the forum and trying to get into smoking a E-Cigarette.

I've browsed the forum a little bit and I've seen that 510 is a decent first E-Cigarette? I would very much like it if someone could recommend a a good starter under $70. Not sure how hardly any of this works really. To give an idea what I am used to my cigarette of choice is Natural American Spirit Unfiltered. Chances are that this first one will be what I use for years to come unless it breaks down. That being said, would someone kindly recommend a first E-Cigarette and a supplier in the states? I'd much appreciate it! :)

You are going to get dozens of replies telling you to buy a joye ego or something else bigger, but I really think that a 510 is a good place to start, just make sure you get a genuine Joye starter kit, not a knock off .. and if you order it from Starter Kits - Joye 510 Starter Kits - Evcigarettes.com there is a starter kit with 2 batteries for only 37.95 Use coupon code ECF10% for an additional discount. They ship super-fast. I ordered on Sat, it was shipped the same day and I got it on Monday. Im very happy with the kit I got and right now, they are selling juice for 40% off too.

Good Luck, and welcome!!!

I highly reccomend the Ego-T from cignot. It runs $79.99. I know you were looking for under $70 but the extra money is well worth it(IMO). I started with a less expensive kits. It was the type that looks like an analog(KR808D-1). The batteries just didn't last long enough for me(and I was a less than a 1/2 a pack a day smoker). I wish I would have found this forum before I bought one. The ego-t is easy to fill the tanks and the battery seems to last about 3 times longer. Anyway, this is just my 2 cents(and I am still pretty new to this myself). I hope you find what you need to kick the analogs to the curb. Good luck

9 days ago I was a 2 1/2 to 3 pack a day smoker. I bought ther Vape4Life KR808 XL auto battery starter kit. It worked well enough, but the USB PT accessory it came with, which is simply a PV that uses a USB port from you computer instead of a battery for power that uses 5 vollts gave me more satisfaction than the lower voltage battery did. I ordered another V4L kit, but this time got the manual XL 808 battery, and that comes very close to the performance of the pass through. Wish I had gotten the manual in the first place.

You can get the XL manual kit with 2 batts and charger for about $60. Then you have to buy enough cartridges of various flavors and nicotine dosages. Just the right combination of these things is different for everyone. Some heavy smokers like 11mg, some light smokers like 24mg. A heavy smoker like me, I need 24mg with an occassional 36mg cart. It's all over the board.

Anyway, I am thrilled with my V4L manual XL 808. They have a huge selection of flavors and often run nice sales. People will often recommend what they use and have had success with, and I'm no different. I really like the V4L stuff. I went from almost 3 packs a day to zero overnight using the V4L products.

Best of luck!

If your smoking filterless analogs I would assume you are looking for a good throat hit. I went through 3 starter kits when I started, looking for first, longer batt life,,standard 510 kit about an hour to an hour and a half on a full batt.. Went with the ego loved it and the batt life was 4 times that of the standard 510, about 6 to 10 hours depending on how much vaping I did, then I wanted a warmer vape or more vapor for less draw, time to increase voltage moved up to a big batt mod and if I would have asked the question you did I would have saved myself $120.00 but I would say take a look at this its in your price range with alot of options and will be comparable to what u are used to, visa vie, throat hit and warmth of smoke....And any questions you may have just give Travis a call, # is on the website, and he can walk you through anything that might arise and is willing to work with you to meet your needs...

I have a weird approach for you, but one I think offers the most opportunity. Don't go crazy and buy a kit right off the mark because chances are, you'll want to change. Don't get me wrong, the eGo is great, V4L is great, and I'm even fond of the 901. However, I suggest going and getting a disposable 510 and a 510 passthru from a place like Madvapes for along with adapters for 901 and 808D. That way, for a minimum amount you can try everything from 510-901-306 (My Fav)-801 and 808D.

After you''ve spent a minimal amount with this approach (Last time I checked it came out to something like 35 dollars). Once you've decided which atomizer (or carto) you like the best, buy a Mod. I know, crazy jump but considering that I've gone through kits of almost all of those styles before arriving at my REO, I'd have saved a fortune with this jump.

Just one very different idea.

I'm at the end of my 1st week. I bought the Volcano Inferno-T kit with an extra atomizer from volcanoecigs.com. The starter kit comes with 15mL of e-juice of your choice. I couldn't be happier! I went from 1-1/2PPD to having bought my 2nd pack yesterday. I've been vaping like a boiling pot of water, mind you, but it's getting better. As long as I have a single smoke in my pocket for an "emergency" I seem to stay on the Inferno. I'm actually smoking my 3rd cigarette of this day, then going to bed.

I also just received my DIY Flavor Artisan Apprentice Kit from onestopdiyshop.com, and am mixing some awesome flavors myself. If you're working on a budget, these two things are all you need to get you through a few weeks til you need more juice.

Keep in mind the Volcano Inferno is the same thing as the Joye eGo. The inferno kit offered the options I was looking for according to my lifestyle and wants/needs. Loooong battery life, no mess, no heavy maintenance, etc. Customer service is top-notch as well.

Onestopdiyshop has amazing customer service as well. I was skeptical about trying different pre-mixed flavors and knew I was competent enough to mix myself. So far I have an awesome menthol tobacco (smoked regular Pall Malls for years), a yummy chocolate caramel and Dulce de Leche. More mixes to come tomorrow as I've been tinkering with it since it hit my mailbox lol. It's time for bed tho.

Volcanoecigs.com has a 10% coupon code as well: epuffdirect. Apply it in the "view cart" area.

Let us know what avenue you choose, either way.

Welcome to ECF and fresh air!

I think I am going to get a Joye eGo 2 pack (one with 1000 mAh) from Cignot. Their site has a lot of good reviews, couple people on these forums recommended them and the popular choice seems to be eGo or eGo-T. I'm going to go with the eGo to stay within my budget and because I am not going to smoke it that heavily (although if I love it enough I will probably upgrade later on).

It's a really good suggestion, and I appreciate it, but I am the kind of person that will adapt and chances are I would probably end up spending more money than if I were to just get a starter kit. Probably will eventually do something like that but for now I just want something that will work well.

Thank you for all of the suggestions and fast replies everyone! This community is wonderfully helpful. :)

How much are you willing to spend?

KR808D-1 (multiple brands -- I have good experiences with Bloog, V2, V4L etc) is not the cheapest way to vape, but it IS probably the most convenient.

Bloog's deluxe starter kit is $80 -- if that's in your price range, go for it. Bloog has the best, most consistent cartomizers for me so far. V2's cartomizers are less predictable (Menthol and Peppermint are always great, though), and V4L's cartomizers are not usually very good, although I love their flavour selection.

Oh, make sure you get AT LEAST two batteries. One is absolutely not enough -- charging takes 3 hours, and that's plenty of time to give in and go out and buy a pack of cigarettes :(. Also, if you spend a lot of time in front of the computer, make sure you get a passthrough! It's SO convenient, and it's my main means of vaping -- no battery charging to worry about, it just goes and goes.

+1 for cignot. Vicki@cignot is awesome. You'll get your kit within 2-3 days from your shipping confirmation. Also like Leif said make sure you have at least 2 batteries. One charges while you use the other one plus the kits from cignot comes with 2 batteries anyway. You'll find yourself vaping more than you smoke, there just so many flavors. But you'll eventually find your favorites. If you get a tank, maybe you should also get a 510 atty and drip tip. That way you could taste a juice before you dump 1 ml of it in the tank. Also the cignot ego-t kit doesn't come with juice, but their 5 ml samples are cheap. Good Luck.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
sheesh............one reply recommended V2..please please read the thread about V2 first. i would HATE to see experience ith that company be the FIRST experience for a newbie...............my best friend went that route.....it was a nightmare with customer service..and the ridiculous high prices. needless to say, she finally ordered what i have, the eGo and has been vaping happily now for several months.

I highly reccomend the Ego-T from cignot. It runs $79.99. I know you were looking for under $70 but the extra money is well worth it(IMO). I started with a less expensive kits. Took the words right out of my fingertips. I ordered a TigCig 402 at first and then bought the ego kit from GotVapes for $53 and I love it, the 402 lasted about 2hours, the ego lasts me all day. It looks more like a cigar than a cigarette if size matters to you or not. I have a ego-t atomizer and some tanks on order from e-smokeytreats.com and there liquid is on sale right now $8 for 30ml so I picked up some of that as well. In the end experiment and explore. You'll save so much money that anything you do "waste" money on won't affect you as much as continued smoking with real cigarettes. For example I've sunk $210 so far into my gear and liquid. Probably about half of that is with gear I didn't like and juice that didn't make the cut. I've been vaping for a month and a half now and subtracting my cost I still saved $150. It's been money well spent and money well saved.

I used to smoke about a pack a day and for the last year I cut down to 1/2 a day. Now I only smoke cigarettes when I'm at work and my battery dies because I forgot to charge it for two days straight. Not a good reason but I have to have my nicotine. I even considered dripping directly to tongue. Then thought better of it.

WONDERFUL CHOICE!!
I wish I had been as smart as you when I first for started, instead I went down another route, and through away $300+. well I didn't smoke, and I ended up with 8 extra atomizers, so it wasn't totally wasted! However after I actually started reading up, I ended up with a Joye Ego clone, by then I was almost tapped out, so I bought a clone kit for $30, all the same stuff as the Joye Ego kit, just different name on it.
If you have not placed your order yet, there is actually a couple of better prices out there, from sites affiliated with this forum.
"Liberty-Flights" is selling their Ego clone (Riva 510) for $29.99, you can't beat that with a stick!
And I just ordered two of the next kit a from this website "iVape.net" he is selling Joye Ego-T kits for $59.99!!!!
Now that is a fabulous price, I ordered two, if you have already ordered, there is always a good sale somewhere! Fr your first e-cig order, you did FANTASTIC! have fun, welcome to the forum, and good luck not smoking, you can do it!
Oh one more thing.......when I first started vaping, I found that I really loved vaping menthols, I had never smoked a menthol in my life, but they sure did satisfy that urge, that and keep LOTSMof juices handy. Good luck!
