New Member and could use some help

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I could use a recommendation on if I I should get some stronger juice or not. I went out and got a kit that contained a Joyetech battery and a CE4+ clearomizer along with some 24 mg juice after using a V2 at 18 mg/ml for only about 4 days because it just wasn't cutting it. While I have cut down a lot on smoking analogs (down to 4 a day) I can't seem to completely ditch them. I seem to vape constantly sometimes for 45 minutes straight and I still have a nicotine craving afterwards, and then start back up about 20 minutes later. If i give in and have an analog it will be an hour before I have another craving. Before vaping I used to smoke 2 pouches of american spirit organic ryo with no filter a week ( about 15 a day), and before that Camel non-filters and I have been a smoker for 20 years. I plan on upgrading my equipment as soon as I can but with the holidays and being a student it will be a little slow. I plan on buying an Aspire ET-S with the bottom vertical coil as soon as I can (hopefully today) but should I also move to 36 mg/ml liquid as well? I am not sure if changing the clearomizer will be enough of a difference to slow me down, I would rather just take a few pulls and put it down for a while rather than this constantly having it in hand.

Thank you for the help

seriously consider an rda
put on a 32 gauge coil and use it on your joyetech battery.

Welcome :)

Wow.. lots of questions....

I smoked 15 RYO a day and can honestly say I never needed more than 24mg and that was just for the first week or so, then straight to 18mg. However, everyone is different.

I have a strong suspicion that your Joyetech battery will be 3.3v and in that case, you are best not to use Aspire ETS (BVC).... it'll be under-powered and then might well leak.

I started of with a product similar to V2 and it was an epic fail, so I understand your position right now. :)

Is you battery adjustable or is it a fixed voltage battery?

I can't adjust it manually but according to the spec sheet it operates between 3.3 and 3.7 V

So if no the ETS, then what would be a good recommendation?

Welcome to ECF :) everyone responds differently when making the transition.

We have a saying around here...only count the ones you don't smoke.

The first few days can be rough and not everyone can make the switch straight over. Keep in mind there is more than just nicotine in tobacco. Even the organic natural kinds.

Don't put to much pressure on yourself or beat yourself up if you have to light up. It's perfectly fine to ease your smoking down while you increase your vape time. You can try a higher nic your body will tell you if you take in to much. The headache, nausea, and dizziness are pretty hard to miss.

Remember Count the ones you don't smoke while making the switch. Soon enough they will outnumber the ones you do.

Welcome to the forum MousePotato! You might need to alter your inhale/exhale technique a bit when vaping as well because the vaporized nicotine is absorbed more in the mouth and nose than in the lungs. There is a really good blog on here regarding this but I can't seem to find it right now. :?:
Someone will be along shortly with the link I'm sure.
Best of luck to you.

With a fixed voltage battery, your options for toppers are a bit limited. So maybe put something variable on your Christmas wish list? :)

You might want to look at any of the bottom coil units, and when getting replacement coils (for them or for your CE4+) try to find them in a lower ohm value. 1.8 might work better for you, as it will produce more vapor than the typical 2.2 - 2.8 range.

I'd avoid anything dual coil until you have a battery with more "oomph". There have been reports of premature battery failure with some combinations, and you don't want to do that... (although not catastrophic failures, just no longer working.)

The Kanger T3S with a 1.8 coil may work very well with your current setup. Inexpensive, easy to fill, easy to replace the heads, and the heads are rebuildable if you want to go there.

Well,

I had a really hard time at first because I didnt have a juice I really liked.

So, how do you like the taste of the juice you have?

With your former brands being unfiltered I'd chase down a good RY4 blend or a very strong tobbaco blend at 24mg and go from there.

There is also some merit to the idea of getting completely away from tobacco flavors all together and going with a strong mint/candy flavor.

But I think its very important to mention that if you dont like the flavor of a 36mg juice its not gonna help you quit.

Find a juice you really like and remember also that your first impression of a juice is almost always right....If you dont love it from first draw it aint gonna get you off the stinkies.

Thank you everyone for your help and advise I really appreciate it!.

Right now I have some NicVape Fire Cured and while it was really strong at first I have grown accustomed to it and like it. I have tried some other non-tobacco flavors, someone gave me some Comic Fog church, and Space Jam starship 1, and definitely did not like the fruity flavors.

Yes, as I expected...

Try something with a single coil around the 2.0ohm mark. Mini Protank 2? Kanger T2 might be available cheap if you can hunt.

Actually... (hooray) here's a bit of knowledge. Totally Wicked actually sold the Kanger T2 branded as a TW product... to go specifically on Joyetech eGo batteries.

They should be a good match. They are like the Halo Triton tank... everything seems 'right' to me.

Evod (1)? clearomizer might be worth a shot.

Innokin iClear16 (2.1ohm) will work, but might be tiny bit weaker for vapour. Don't risk the 1.5ohm version.

I fear if you are keen to get into BCC (dual coils) you are going to need a better battery.

If you are looking for an upgraded setup here are some possible options for you to consider:

A variable v/w (twist/spinner) is usually recommended over a "non" variable v/w battery. It allows you to adjust your settings to get a better "vape". Some flavors taste better at higher voltages than 3.7v

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2 (or MVP v3 which is shipping soon)
5. eLeaf iStick

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery (with variable voltage). They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging.

The 4th & 5th ones are a step up from an "ego style" battery in that they are smaller variable v/w box mods with a very big battery (2400-2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. The MVP is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery. The iStick is newer but it too is very popular.

I suggest buying only name brand Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner ego batteries. BTW, "ego" is merely a type of battery, not a brand name. Buying "generic" ego batteries is always going to be hit or miss...mostly miss.

You will need to purchase a tank (the juice attachment) with the first three on the above list. The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass & all have adjustable airflow control) are very popular. The MVP v2 Kit comes with a tank but it is not glass.

I have used both the mini Protank & the Protank v2 and have added the Aerotank Base to them when Kanger first came out with the Aerotanks. I also have the Nautilus and have purchased the new BVC's (bottom vertical coils). They both work well, but the Nautilus does give better flavor over the "stock coils" that my Protanks use.

Why would you want a glass tank (you may be thinking to yourself)? Here is a great resource regarding "tank cracking" eliquid by ECF member Baditude: Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

Make sure to open all his links! Two of those links are:

* A blog post by ECF member The Ocelot titled "EEEKKK it's Melting".
* A "HUGE" list of juice and flavorings that may cause problems as far as cracking, fogging, or etching polycarbonate tanks (compiled by ECF member my4jewels).

to ecf 00MousePotato. (love your name) So glad to have you here. You have received some very good suggestions. See why I think ecf is such a special place to be? Let's face it, it is hard for some people to say goodbye to an old friend (cigarette). It could just still be a bit of emotional craving for you. And that is understandable. I had given up on ever being able to quit smoking. Just don't be hard on yourself. So you have it down to 4 a day. Try 3 and the 2. That is what I did without realizing it. By the time I got down to one or two a day. . . the nasty taste got to me and I gladly became a full time vaper. Good luck to you and please let us know how you are doing. Not only is there a lot of information here but ecf just happens to be a huge support group. Everyone here is in your corner.

Welcome to ECF. You've received some great advice. When I first started I vaped 24 mg almost non-stop. That was back in the day of really inefficient ecigs. Better batteries and better tanks helped a lot. As soon as you can upgrade both your battery and your tank (and don't forget to have a backup) and you might very well find yourself vaping less. In the meantime, do what you have to do to stay off regular cigarettes (or at least as much as possible).
