In smoking cessation classes, they emphasize small victories - "that's one cigarette I didn't smoke!" Try taking that approach - maybe go lower nic ("only 12 mg today!") or less juice ("I only went through 1 ml today!"). Sounds cheesy, but those little reinforcing thoughts do help. I have a nano clearo miser that holds about 1 ml - I use the visual indication to keep me less than one ml per day.

I think vaping is more fun and tastes better, so for those of us with addictive personalities , or those who like to constantly be doing something................chain vaping is how we roll. When I am online, I am puffing on my Tornado passthrough like my life depends on it. I got through tank after tank, especially on the weekends. I dont worry about it, because I am really enjoying myself.

I bought some 0mg juice just for this reason. I just started, but so far I'm vaping way more than I smoked. I have 18 mg juice for the physical addiction and the placebo juice for the psychological. :)

just curious how much liquid is everyone vaping a day?

I feel like I vape a ton (especially on the weekends) but it must only be 2 - 5 mL a day. I didn't really have any perspective before, but a lot of people I see giving their daily mL are 10+. I've been using 1.6 mL Stardusts and I don't think I've ever had to fill them more than twice in a day. If I did, it's only cause they seem to get leaky.

In many ways, I see that Vaping can become something of a Ritualistic Habit for some people. Myself included. I don't get much out of Nicotine anymore. I've got a Drawer Full of DIY e-Liquids ranging from 0mg to 24mg. They all Satisfy me about the same.

When you mentioned that if your PV is across the room that many times you are Too Lazy to get up and get it, this tells me that you are Not Very Addicted to Vaping. That it is more of a Casual Habit than a Need that has to be Satisfied.

I definitely agree here. I would say my cigarette addiction was 80% mental 20% physical. I saw a great advertisement when I first started trying to quit a few years back. It said "Relearn boredom" and was a new idea to me at the time, never having tried to quit in the 10 years I'd been smoking. So while I do get genuine nicotine cravings, more often than not it's boredom or a trigger. Triggers were something else I hadn't considered til that Relearn Boredom campaign. I smoke when I wake up/after I eat/when I drink coffee/while I drive/while I pay bills. And trying to quit because of that is far more insidious than simple withdrawal; it's behaviorally associative.

All this coupled with the fact that you can vape more places than you can smoke could make it a slippery slope, but for me personally, I used to panic at the thought of not having cigarettes. I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel with vaping. The next few months/years are certainly going to be interesting. :)

Started 4/20 at 32mg and now on 12. Once i'm done with twleve i'll go 6 and already got my 6mg coming in.

I never had a problem quiting with patches I just really enjoy blowing smoke and the social aspect. I vape all day and if I told my seld i'm only going to vape 1ml I go nuts. I just love it and will continue to vape even at 0. I'm already not vaping as much. I just vape when I want to not because I feel I have to or cause I need the nic, I do it cause I enjoy it, just like anything else. Watching tv, playing games or what ever the case may be.

Also it hels cause I don't think "I'm almost out" or if i'm quitting "no more smoking after this". So I think it helps I can vape anytime I want.

I'm new to this but I already think it would be harder to quit vaping than it was to get off ciggies. I'll be glad when I get to the point where it won't bother me to forget my toot at home. Right now I am having problems with a herniated disc just from carrying around all my vaping supplies and batteries in my pocketbook. I am so scared to be without them. But hey, whatever it takes to keep me decigatized and happy.

That fear will subside with time

I vape like crazy as well. Over the past few weeks i've dropped in nicotine content because I vape to the point of sickness. I was using 24, now i'm down to 18 comfortably and I'm vaping much less than I did before (A matter of will power). I'm even thinking about lowering to 12. I'm pretty sure the addiction factor is mostly in my mind. I'm aiming to be nicotine free within 6 months or so :D

I think it's normal. When I first quit at the beginning of the year, I don't think I was vaping enough. I was stressed about quitting analogs and I should have been vaping more during these times. Instead, I fell off the wagon and went back to smoking. I also had some PG issues. Now that I'm on 100vg, I am chain vaping sometimes during the day. I have a combination of nic levels because of this. 6mg during the day when I'm doing ok and 12mg for mornings and times when I'm really feeling the craving for cigs. So far, so good and I haven't been back to analogs and don't want to go back to analogs. I wouldn't worry about chain vaping right now - it's better than chain smoking.

I started the same way. Eventually, you'll naturally wean yourself back down without even trying. Just listen to your body.

same here, I remember seeming to vape constantly when it was new and first starting and making the transition but now I actually pick up the device less than i did an analog

You don't say what nicotine strength you are using, you may need to go up a level until satisfied without vaping so often and once you are happy with not vaping as much consider dropping down a bit.

You lost an old and dear friend when you put down that pack for the last time and not only does your body have to adjust to a different experience (ie less other chemicals) it also has to adjust to the difference of handling a PV vs a analog or a pack of analogs or whatever so there is a whole bunch of things that are adjusting. Some of your vaping may even be taking in very little nicotine as you may hardly be inhaling - just enough to make vapor as sort of a sort of like comfort food.

Everyones vaping experience is different - vaping is different or can be very different from smoking an you have to adapt to that.

I think you will find that in your own way it will all settle out in a bit in your own time frame.

...

With vaping, on the other hand, the delivery into bloodstream is much slower (vapor as opposed to gas) and the devices don't burn out of go out if you don't take continuous drags. The fact that you can have the device on you at all times and take a drag any time you want also contributes.

...

I think these are Good Points.

Especially your mention of a PV doesn't go Out. So there is no Limiting factor which says you have had you Allocated Dose and it is time to Stop.

There is also something else about Cigarette Addiction. And that is the Addiction to the Chemical Compounds that are Added to tobacco under the premise that they do Something Else like make the tobacco burn slower.

I firmly believe that I was More Addicted to the Added Chemicals that were/are being placed in Cigarette Tobacco than I was to just Nicotine.

Many people still crave those Chemicals without even knowing it. And no matter how much you hit on your PV, you Aren't getting them. Which is a Good thing. But may lead to Chasing something that Isn't there.

I don't think the so-called "experts" realize that the addiction to "blowing smoke" is just as strong as the addiction to nicotine.

Very True.

I often see when people want to Isolate a Cause that they look for a Singular Culprit. Something that they can draw a Nice Tight Box Around and point, there it is. There is the cause.

When in Actuality, there are Usually Many Causes that Contribute.

e-Cigarette use is No Exception.

I think there are Many Dynamics as to why someone will use an e-Cigarette on a Great Frequency than they used Analogs.

Thanks for all the encouragement and advice. I've used some of the tips and tricks I learned here and have already cut down my vaping somewhat. I will continue to try to cut down more. Thanks again.

Very Cool.

I'm glad to here that you are moving in the Direction you want to get.

Just keep in mind that you Didn't get addicted to Analogs overnight. It was a process that took time.

So does Cutting back on either the Amount of Nicotine in an e-Liquid. Or the Frequency that you use an e-Cigarette during the Day.

Take it slow and do it in Small Steps and I'm sure you can get to where you Want to Be.
