Just trying to get started on ecigs and get off analog. It's been a month and I'm still waiting for me eGo even though I've got juice. I'm in Canada so everything takes longer and costs more. Want to post in forums, PM etc but realized I have to make 5 posts before I can do so. Please forgive my next 4 posts but I need to get in touch with another member and PM him but can't do so without doing this. Hope I'm not going about this the wrong way but I'm sure someone will let me know if I am.

I'm so new to all this both the PVs and the forum. I posted Holy s..t and it showed as .... Didn't realise that you can't use those terms. After you make 5 posts can you then automatically post and PM or do you have to apply or wait for someone to give you permission???

I've heard it takes about an hour after you hit the 5-post mark. To PM someone, click on "Settings" at the top right corner of the page, then on the left you'll see "Send New Message". Once you get to that page, just type in their forum name and you should be able to figure out the rest. If not, don't be afraid to ask.

Welcome!

I smoked almost 30 years and didn't have withdraws. My mother started a little before me and has smoked around 60 years didn't have withdraws either.

Of course I wanted to quit in the back of my head, but I never actually thought I'd quit. I joined mostly for my mother who has COPD. My goal was to cut down and not stink. If I felt I needed a cig, I would have had one. I'm amazed that I didn't. My Mom might have 1-2 cigs a day and that's only because she's waiting for her new Riva.

Good luck!

Just don't put too much pressure on yourself to immediately give up the stinky-stix. I was one of the lucky ones that never picked up another analog once I started vaping, but it doesn't always happen that way for everyone. Sometimes it takes a little time to find the right pv that gives you the TH, vapor and flavor you crave - and sometimes it takes awhile to find the perfect nicotine levels.

I think one reason it worked out so well for me is because I actually didn't *intend* to quit smoking when I started vaping. When I first heard of e-cigs and was waiting for my first kit to get here, I just kept telling myself it would be a great way to "cut back". I never expected it to completely replace analogs, therefore I wasn't under the stress of "making it work".

Might be a good idea to read over the forum rules for what is acceptable language and behavior. It's very well moderated here which makes for a constructive environment.

That. I wasn't one of the lucky ones, and when I pressured myself I couldn't quit. The key for me was not putting pressure on myself and eventually just stopping by not buying any more packs in order to get over the hump.

Good luck on finding what works for you.
