Hello ECF.
Just a little introduction from a new member I started smoking in 1991 not long after enlisting in the USAF. I attempted to quit a couple of times, with my best result being 3 years free. That run ended just before deploying to Iraq in 2008.
During a layover in Baltimore while returning from Iraq, I was sitting at the bar with one of my troops. Being that this was a no-smoking establishment, I was a bit surprised to see him puffing away and generally clouding the surrounding area. When questioned, he proudly displayed his newest acquisition an electronic cigarette.
Shortly thereafter I purchased a cigalike and no more than a week later had purchased a more robust version. Neither of these really satisfied my craving. So I looked for the next big thing and ended up purchasing this:

To the best of my knowledge (and please feel free to correct me) the Screwdriver by Trog was one of the first generations of the modern mechanical mod. Sadly, this only lasted for a month or so due to the low availability of atomizers and eliquid in Alaska.
I am happy to say that with the recent purchase of an iTaste MVP 2.0 (thanks to all the great info on this forum), I am once again cigarette free and having a much easier time of it now.
