Hope someone can help as im going insane.
I am using an evic with a viva nova stv and a tornado rcs tank which I have been successfully building my own heads for months.
Been working fine till this week and no matter what I do both tanks taste horrible with very little taste of the flavour its supposed to be. I cant really discribe the taste as anything other than a bland bitter taste.
I have tried several differnt flavours of juice.
full range of voltages and wattage.
rebuilt the heads several times.
swapped back to cotton wicks as with the current scare at the moment with silica.
I have even tried them on my old ego 900mah battery.
Someone please help before I throw all my stuff away and go to the shop for some cigs.

Thanks in advance

Could be just a juice thing. Have you tried juice from a different vendor?

edit-Yeah, I was going to write what Paws did. Get/make some simple 1 flavor (light on the flavoring). Maybe even try a fillered carto.

Some people vape unflavored often in between refills to help with tastebud overload. I vape it all the time, it's not bad.

All juice I have atm is from same vendor but surley its unlikely that all 4 flavours would go funny at same time.
Going on what paws says maybe its possible as menthol or mint doesnt taste too bad but still not 100% like it should.
This is now my 14th week vaping and havent had anything like this before.

On another note how does everyone feel about the health issues everyone is going on about with regards to silica wick?

IMHO, I prefer cotton wicks. Mostly cause of my profession, we deal with a lot of silica and under a microscope Silica dust has these little barbs on it so when you inhale silica dust, it stays in your lungs and could eventually cause silicosis. Now I'm not saying that using silica wicks can cause silicosis, I just call in paranoia on my part.

I would thoroughly inspect the inside of the atomizers you're using, mine have little areas (on a rebuildable, near to where the coils are mounted, say) that can get gunked up. I've noticed that with time, even running at low Volts, the silica can get black eventually right under the coils, from the heat. Prime your silica first, let the liquid really soak in for 20 minutes or so before you fire it. I drilled out a huge hole to let air into one of mine, and the hole got too big, and takes a lot of effort to make the wick / coil work so that it vapes the way I prefer (why I drilled the air intake out, to let more air in). Just some ideas.

Just something I'm guessing.... Take it with a few grains of salts!! :)

I for one can say my tastes buds goes nuts and can taste nothing good for 2-3 days at a time. I can't taste salty , spicy, bitter and stuff.....

I'm not saying that the case but it is one possibility.

Did you change your wick or wire (new package/order)?

Did you boil the wick for about 3 minutes and burn the wire til its red hot on the stove?

Can you smell the e-liquid (it it had mint or fruity smell?)... Not sure if this can tell if your taste buds are off or not. How is food tastes ? OKAY?

Did you take any pills? For eg: when I too allergy pills I neither taste nor smell nothing.:glare:

Mostly thinking out loud and may be you can skim something from it.

    Regards.

Im using same wick and wire I have been using for awhile. All though the wick had picked up a perfume smell from the draw it was kept in. I boiled it for 15 mins, rinsed it and changed water and boiled for another 15 mins and the smell has gone.

I dont usally flame my wire as iv never had any issues before but I did on this head just to see if it made a difference but it didnt.

no problems with tasting anything else.

    No medication

Im not sure the juice in the tank does smell right. Going to compare it with whats in the bottle when I get home.

Just remembered I had a couple of goes on it before bed last night and the flavour was very close to what it should be but straight away this morning it was bad from the first go.
