Do you tip and twirl between vape?

Personally I don't think it's the grommet since I vape at 4.0-4.2V using 2.2ohm head and tend to scroch it but no burnt taste appears. Couple of things you can try:

To remove any residue on the silica wick:

wash>dry burn>use q-tip to remove any gunk on coil>use lighter to flame the entire wick>soak in PGA>wash>dry burn>fill and test

If above method doesn't solve the issue and have 100% cotton batten or cottonball laying around:

remove the silica wick>dry burn the coil and clean gunk with q-tip>take a pinch of cotton and roll into a wick (enough to slide freely inside the coil)>slide wick into coil>fill tank with ejuice>give it a minute for the wick to soak up ejuice>vape

i just dont get the sudden no vape, no nothing, flavor comes back on after i few hits, but it comes with that burnt or weird taste, and it comes and go

Just for shoots and giggles, are you sure when this is happening that the head is screwed in tight? Mine comes loose sometimes from opening the top cap, which unscrews the head a little with it. Maybe it's intermittently making contact and arcing or something, but I doubt it. It would easily explain the periods of no vape, but not necessarily the bad taste. How about the bottom post that is meant to touch the battery. I think the center post is somehow adjustable, and maybe it isn't making perfect contact all the time. Just some off-hand suggestions.

Also, sometimes I think the quality control is a little lax. It's possible the coil is just shorting and getting a hot spot. Have you taken a close look to see if it is jammed up on itself or one of the coil loops is too close to another? Maybe try spreading the coils a little apart with a dental pick or something. With the battery off of course.

mine does not have that =(
I got one that didn't have one a week or so ago. It was fake and couldn't vape to save its life. Does your vivi head have a cone that sticks vertical out the top of the head like a stardust?
Mine tasted like 'new coil' all the time.

I need a better picture, but my fake vivi head is on the left, a real vivi head is on the right.

Some of those non-vision ones with the cones are ok, as I have found out by getting some good ones. steammonkey.com has the cone-head ones, which have worked as well or better than the vision ones for me. You just really never know though until someone confirms them by trying. Unfortunately that's the gamble on the clones.

mine looks like the right handed one, but mine has a more transparent btm washer, not a white one

Hi Frenchfries,
Is yours a Vision vivi nova?
have you tried cleaning and dry burning?
I've used Vision vivi nova heads from different vendors and not had any issues. So I'm wondering what you've bought.
Mine just say vivi nova, have no idea, I feel really dishearten by it, I nvr had good luck with vaping, my stardust and now my vivi, but I won't give up! Thanks eveyone!
