Hello everyone! I'm Zee. I've been vaping from the very beginning, but have always felt pretty much alone in my endeavor to find the best and safest way to get my nicotine on!

I am a 24 year veteran LPN who used to smoke two packs of Camel Wides a day! I was introduced to the e-cig in 2007 by a friend of a friend here in Lansing, KS. I wasn't skeptical about it at first, I was just excited that there was a new way to get my nic fix without smoking. At that time in my life, I was watching the effects that more than fifty years of smoking was having on my Dad. He began to get very sick with emphysema, (COPD}, at that time. Though I begged him to at least cut back, I, as a secret smoker all my life, knew that he was powerless to do so, as was I.

My Dad passed away on Christmas Eve, 2010. He stopped smoking two weeks before he died. I tried to get him to use the e-cig, but he never did understand that it wasn't the cigarrette that he craved, but the small amount of nicotine that was hidden in the 4000 other toxic and carcinogenic chemicals that made up the cigarrette. It was a few months after his passing that I became very vocal about e-cigs, quite simply, because they were the only things that actually worked.

Welcome to ECF Susan. I'm sorry to hear about your father passing, but I am glad that it has fueled your fire for vaping. My grandfather smoked from about 11 to 69 and recently passed away due to a plethora of conditions caused by analogs. Shortly before he passed, he also switched to ecigs (the cigalike models) even though he knew that it wouldn't repair the damage that was already done. Thus, to an extent, I can relate to what drives you. ECF is a lovely place to meet like-minded people and talk about the one thing we all have in common.

Hi, Susan, fellow Kansan here! So sorry to hear about your father. Both my husband and his brother are lung cancer survivors - my husband quit the second he got the news of a spot on his lung! His sister recently died of COPD/emphysema; and there have been several other acquaintances in the last decade who died of lung cancer. All smokers. Of course, I didn't quit either after all these misfortunes, but finally started trying. Nothing worked until I used an eGo for the first time - and that did it, thankfully!

Congrats on your own quit, and on spreading the word that there IS a safer, easier way to quit smoking cigarettes!

to ecf Susan Parker Wrigley. So sorry about your Dad. I lost my mom so I know exactly how you feel. Vaping is the only thing that has ever worked for me too. Isn't it wonderful? So happy you are here and look forward to reading your posts. Happy vaping.
