Hey everyone,

New to e-cigs and new to the forum. I'm researching e-cigs for my dad. He's a heavy smoker and we're hoping that this turns out to be safe alternative to regular smoking.

Tell us a little about what you are looking for? If you are not sure, then describe what type of smoker your dad is. What type of cigs or cigars he currently is using and what it is you are hoping to replace. There are several sizes, shapes, large batteries, small batteries, etc. What brand of cigs does he use? Those kinds of things will be helpful for us to help you.

Thank you so much. This is all a bit overwhelming. I really have no idea what I'm looking for. He smokes a brand called du Maurier and I would say he's a pack a day kind of guy. We're just looking for something very basic to start. What we are mostly concerned with is finding a reputable vendor for e-juice that contains nicotine. As for the actual vaping device, I think anything will do for now since it'll be his first time he probably doesn't know what his preferences are just yet. Thanks again, it means a lot

We have lots of members from Canada and ecf has a forum for you country also.

I think ecig suppliers are a little different than here in the US. I do know that some US vendors ship to Canada, but while I can help you with suggesting what type of ecig battery, you may find the Canadian forum a bit more helpful.

Greetings HHB; Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your search.

I've ordered stuff from a vendor located in Lyndhurst (very close to Ottawa judging by the postal code), and had very positive experiences.

I've been vaping for about 7 weeks, and stopped using tobacco about three weeks ago. I can definitely feel health benefits, such as chest tightness and chest and throat raunchiness disappearing. I'm really glad I found my way to e-cigs, and I don't miss tobacco at all.

Ah! Du-Maurier... I started smoking by steeling du-maurier cigs out of my dads pack.

Does your dad wants something that looks like a cigarette or is he opened to larger (way better) options?
