NEW Member - Just saying hello..

Hi everyone,

Just dropping in a hello so I can post up on the forums (need to get that post count up!!)

Anyways... been vaping since Dec 12 and haven't smoked since. Kicked a 20+ year habit overnight with the e-cig with very little difficulty. Previously tried with Nic Gum, patches, cold turkey, etc..etc..etc.. to no avail. So obvioiusly, i'm sold on these products and a hugh advocate. Since then, I now no longer have any friends that smoke, they've also since converted and are enjoying their vapes. And that's a group of us that thought we'd never be able to quit smoking!

Anyways... I've been lurking here for the past several months, and now feel comfortable enough to give some information back when i'm able... but of course, my post count won't allow for that since THIS is my first post... haha...

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone... yeah, just from lurking, its obvious that there are many helpful and informed people on this forum.

I think its taken me the past 5 months just to get through reading topics of my interest here... which is probably just the tip of the iceberg overall.

Anyways... completely enjoying vaping over the stinkies!! lol... ironically, as a smoker, i never even noticed the smell of a cig before... i mean, i could smell it, but it never was very noticeable. However, now... WOW, i am constantly amazed at just how strong the smell of cigs are!!! The smell of cigs doesn't bother me, but I just never realized just how strong the smell was. I mean... it is STRONG!!! Its crazy to think that i constantly smelled like that and people still let me into their houses!!! lol...

well... glad to be a part of a great community that genuinely want to help inform people and provide support for kicking a habit that i'm sure many of us felt was unkickable at some point!

I cant tell you... quitting has never been this much fun! Trying with gum.. patch..etc... was PAINFUL and unsuccessful... and for what its worth, i still have an unopened pack that I bought Dec. 11, 2012 (day before I bought my first mod)... initially, I kept it "just in case"... but now its just kind of a keep sake at this point.

I also bailed on cigarettes after 33 years! I've been vaping about 2 months. Official quit date: April 8, 2013 @10:00pm

Like you I'm on a quest to get all my friends to quit! One down many more to go but I know I can do it!

Yeah... I found that all of my smoker friends were at least curious... and of course, that just turned into conversation and eventually them giving it a go. I'm just glad it has worked form them! Proud of all of them!

I am fairly new to this also, I am also amazed at how easy it was to quit. Was a smoker for over 30 yrs.
I find that I am spending a lot of time on this forum and trying new things helps to keep me from smoking.
It is also getting a bit expensive!

Hey mujuru!! It looks like we both quit smoking & started vaping on the exact same day! Congrats! Yes! The smell is crazy! I never noticed it before either! Now when I'm out with friends who still smoke I'm amazed I didn't realize how bad it stank!! Getting the smell out of my couches & car was the worst! One night I'm laying on my couch & it stinks to holy he**!!! Why didn't I notice this before!! Still I try not to judge my buddies who still smoke! That was once me & I was so oblivious to how bad it smelled! Anyway welcome to the forums!

haha... "trying new things"... YUP! that's what gets you... and I know exactly what you're saying! I think i've only recently tapered off on the... "oooh.. let me try this... ooh... let me try that" wagon!! But i don't regret a penny of it...

ya know?!?! its crazy right? I'm still in awe... Just the other day, I was stopped a red light and a car pulls up next to me, windows down.. and it was crazy just how strong the smell of smoke was coming from their car... i presume they had just finished their cig because they weren't even smoking... but it was crazy how strong i could smell it!!! lol.. That's the one thing that blows my mind... just how i NEVER knew just how strong the smell was!

Anyways... now you're my vaping twin!! haha... same born on date!! haha...
