hi all

My name is Mike and I've been vaping on and off for about a year now. I'm vaping more than I'm smoking now (much to my bank balance's pleasure) and I'm looking to get some better hardware. However, I've realised I actually know sod all about what's out there.

Currently I'm using a VIP branded BDC tank with whatever VIP use for coils and a variable voltage battery. It's alright, but I'm having to buy really strongly flavoured e-liquids to get any taste out of it. At this precise moment I've got a Fruits Of The Forest flavour in and I can barely taste it.

Over the coming months I'm cutting cigarettes out completely (I currently only smoke on nights out and when I'm drinking) so I'm looking to change up to something where I can actually taste my liquids and even get a decent amount of battery life out of it.

I've had recommendations of eVic before but I really don't know what I should be looking at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Welcome @GadgetAddictsUK

You have done well to come here and ask!

VIP is dreadful and expensive. They are one of the most hated brands, being owned by a very nasty US conglomerate. At one time they were owned by a the 'original' UK people who started the brand, which was kind of OK... except still doesn't excuse the prices, the hardware, the desperate e-liquid, the diacetyl...

The eVic mini VTC is a great e-cig box mod. There are plenty of others though out there.

What about a Kanger kit?

KANGER TOPBOX MINI KIT - Mods

or an Innokin Coolfire 4 plus. Or a Sigelei box mod with iSub tanks.

You can go on forever. :D

Please remember though, Google is often not your friend, most of the top sites are not really the top sites. There are some shops to avoid... there really are.

Nothing specific right now. Ideally £50 or under but if there's something particularly excellent then I'm flexible

If £50 was the maximum, I'd probably go for a fixed battery mod. (Coolfire, iStick).

Another option is the Kanger SUBVOD or Joyetech eGo AIO.
(Personally, I wouldn't.. but hey...)

If you don't want to go crazy and just have something a little better than a basic 'Pen' see what you think of the look of

Innokin Endura T18 - Under £20 on Amazon.

Thanks guys. I didn't realise that VIP were so hated. I mean, I'm not a fan of them, mostly due to their rude staff who look at me like I'm really inconveniencing them filing their nails and planning their self tans. Well, at least that's what I get at the stall in Chester-Le-Street haha

I tried Googling too, but God bless SEO friendly pages giving me nothing but shops with no info and a tonne of tracking cookies...

I'll have a look on subohm stuff, it's not something I've encountered before. The choice is a little bewildering

It's a bit to get your head around. If you get the right set up, you can vape normal power and/or sub-ohm levels. I do both.

I take a little box mod to work (iStick or something small) with a regular tank (Eleaf GS Tank or Aspire mini Nautlius) and then in the evenings, bigger kit.
At the weekend, who knows...

I do like the look of the Kanger. Apparently the eVic mini is good but with a Cubis tank, rather than the one that comes bundled with it.

I'm not a fan of Joyetech tanks, especially if you don't use a rebuildable atomizer (section).
Joyetech stuff is expensive and you mostly have to buy if from the UK e-cig mafia.
If I can't get the coils for £5-£6 for 5 (from Fasttech), I have no interest.
Cubis atomizers/coils are £11.99 from the mafia.

I pay £5.50 for 5 x SSOCC or Ni200 coils from Kanger. It all adds up by the end of 2,3,4 years.
Sub-ohm drinks liquid, which is another *serious* consideration as e-liquid is going to hit trouble very soon in the UK.

If you don't know what the EU TPD is, better research this soon.

Tanks over 2ml banned.
E-liquid over 20mg banned (not likely to affect us, with higher power kit)
Bottles over 10m banned.

Hi
I would go for the Aspire mini Triton or Quest kit,you can buy Clapton coils for this Tank and the mod goes up to 70 watt.
You would need 2x18650 batteries,1 as a back up and a charger.I have one myself for work. The Taste from the Clapton coils is very good. That is the next step up.Take a look at the Quest kit by Aspire. Also known as a mini pegasus and mini Triton V2 Tank.Good luck
