:glug:Hello

While I am prescribed Nicotrol Inhalers, I supplement with FIN ecigs-made by Victory and owned by Texas Fields.

I use the simple but expensive type where I buy these things that look like cigarettes and you electrically charge these and screw on these things that look like cig filters which contain the strength. flavor, etc. (I use strong tobacco flavor). I enjoy using these and they give me less deliverd Nicotine than Nicotrol Inhalers.

However I hear vaping is much cheaper. But I have no idea to where to start with vaping. what should I buy? where can I buy it and what do I do once I have what I need? I use to cast my own bullets when I was a teen and in the distribution business of a product recently made legal in the District of Columbia (which I have had nothing to do with for 40 years). From what I hear about vaping it sounds like there are multiple steps to go thru but if the cost savings are there I am willing to do the work.

Today a set of 5 refills costs me $16 at Wal-Mart or Wal-Greens (and they never have the potency (2.5 mg of nicotine) I am looking for). They call this $15 refill a carton but it lasts 2 days. A carton of real cigarettes would last me a week. A real recharging kit costs $25 to $40 and sometimes these just stop working after only a few weeks. In fact every one cig-pack of FINs I have bought has failed to work at all. Plus they sell a thing they call a recharging kit for $15 that does not even provide you with what you need to use the fake cigarettes and cartomizer provided in the kit....TRUTH!

So if you can give me some guidance I would surely appreciate it and I will ask for a blessing for you.

Hi Brian.

The long story about these brands (Fin etc.) is so long I'd still be typing in an hour, maybe two.

An e-cig is an e-cig whether it's a plastic cig-a-like or a huge personal vaporizer. Running costs vary from $1 a day to $1,000 + for a year if you start buying lots of hardware and liquid.

The "top" UK cig-a-like would cost me $4,000 at least in refills and spare batteries per year. I vape using the latest (and sometimes greatest) tanks and mods for about 1/4 of that cost.

The company that owns Fin and another 5 (?) brands trades on the NYSE. Their share price has gone from $25 to 27 cents over the last 2 years. They are trying to salvage the business, but to be honest, these products are becoming the extinct generation of e-cigs. Poor performance, questionable efficacy and extortionate running costs.

I wish you luck.

A lot of us started out on cigarette look a likes just like you described. For me personally, I didn't find them very satisfying and they weren't reliable at all. I went back to smoking shortly after dropping some serious cash on em. That was back in 2012. I tried again in October of last year and quit for good, using slightly larger stick batteries and tanks. For you, I'd recommend an istick 30w and a nautilus mini. Not too pricy, all you have to replace is the coil (heating element) in the tank when it wears out. Super economical.

Short version: vaping has come a long way. Cigalikes are not great and terribly expensive in the long run. A small tank and battery would probably give you the best experience and cost.

I often wonder, when the op doesn't respond, whether they are even bothering to read the replies. Then i wonder if i should spend any of my precious time typing anything. Maybe if there is any sign of life later then maybe i'll consider it.
You know how it is. You could end up writing a huge post that takes about half an hour and then it gets completely ignored.

It's showing that the last time he was on was 11:32, the same time as his post. I've replied to a lot of threads that just died, but if he comes back and reads these suggestions and then gets anything out of it, I'm happy.

Wow. OP posted just about 2 hour ago. How about giving him some time to reply? Some people work and cannot come immediately back to reply. Or maybe they do not expect responses so quickly?
In either case give a person a chance.

Also, even if OP does not come back maybe the topic would be helpful to another new member so it is not a waste of time to post helpful suggestions.

+1 for this from me.... thats pretty close to my first setup. All you need extra from that is some e-liquid. Choose whatever flavor you think you might like, there are lots of tobacco flavors out there as well as tons of others. I dont choose to vape tobacco flavors so i cant comment much on those, but i would say start with that set up and anywere between 12-18 mg of nicotine.

From that set up there, if you enjoy it, the sky is the limit on how much or how little you want to do with vaping. From building your own coils, to making your own liquid. From small clouds of vapor to filling a whole room.

Good luck!

This is the reason why I wrote my blogs and drop links for them in my posts, for this very reason. It saves me a lot of time and I'm sure not to forget anything off the top of my head. I've been helping new vapers for over two years and this is the best solution for me.

@Brian r Muldoon , I agree with the iStick 30 W and the Nautilus Mini. Both are very user friendly and have great track records.

That's why I recommend them for most everyone. Charging the mod is just as easy as charging a phone. I walked my mother through how to use hers on the phone in about 5 minutes, and she's not the most technical person. It's hard to not like the setup.

Why do I have to type something? Maybe it did not occur to you that any advice I would have offered was already offered by other posters.

I do not see why you feel the need to attack me. I simply pointed out that maybe OP could not jump right back to reply and that advice may help other new members.

Clearly "you"are a happy person.

There is a phase which describes your previous post and it goes something like "The pot calling the kettle black".

Your really not making any sense. I said nothing nasty to you. I simply posted reasons why maybe the OP did not immediatly come back.
Why that would make you defensive and attack me... makes no sense.

I tried an e-cig from a local liquor store about 2 1/2 years ago and it did nothing for me then in december of 2014 I tries something similar to this Tank Vaporizer Vape Pen USB Charger 1100mAh Battery Kit Juice | eBay with some e-juice I purchased online and after 45 years of smoking I quit, have not smoked in 6 month. I have moved up to larger batteries and tanks and now make my own juice which cost me about $1.50 usd per week but many people have enjoyed success using these in-expensive batteries and tanks. I still use mine when im hiking or cycle. they provide a lot more vapor and flavor then those drug store e-cigs and are much less expensive before I started making my own juice I bought juice from here A-Z Liquid - Vape Wild hope you find this helpful
