I second WV2WIN, this is such a good setup and very inexpensive maintenance wise. Even worst case and the switch breaks, it's only a 10 dollar fix. I own this and a more expensive big battery mod and it hits almost the same. Once you get this out of the way you can spend your time and dollars on the juice hunt. Good luck in what ever you decide.

Ok, after considerable thought and a long conversation with Brent at Hoosier E-Cig Supply, I went with the E-Power 14650 Kit in Stainless Steel. In addition to the carts and attys I ordered a 2.0 ohm LR 510 cartomizer, two rubber tips for the carts, and 3 different 10 ml bottles of e-juice to get things going (24 mg USA Mix, 555, and RY4 from Dekang). Total price with free shipping and 5% coupon discount was $63 and change. Thanks for all the help. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Please do! I'm thinking of ordering a couple of KGO batteries from there - I'm interested in how his customer service is as well as how you like the e-power :)

Since for me the EMDCC is the flavor of the month I figure running them off a 4.2v KGO battery just might be the holy grail of eGO-compatible vaping ;)

Too bad no one suggested the one that is a cousin (in size and performance) to the eGo/Riva but also takes into consideration your idea about being cost effective. It works as well or better than the eGo but instead of paying $20 for batteries, the batteries only cost $4. Plus the batteries are non-proprietary, meaning you can buy them many places and they last 5 times longer than the eGo batteries.

The E-Power:

e-Power

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - E-Power

I would go with this suggestion, or an ego Riva from Liberty Flights for $29.99.

Easy to use and you will get a good vape with it plus there are so many accessories to try with it. I'd start with standard LR 2.0 boge cartomizers. And a good selection of juices.

After you've been vaping for awhile and know what juice you like, pick up a 1000 mah battery. True the dual oil cartomizers or the ego mega dual coil cartomizers. You don't have to go hog wild with your first order. Besides, new things come out every week but the ego is extremely versatile. You're going to spend a lot finding a juice you like and you will get a good vape with the Riva Ego from Liberty Flights.

This is the least expensive most satisfying way to get into vaping.

Other methods are more costly and you don't get as good of a vape. If you get a mini, you need extra batteries or a pcc. It's difficult to test juice on the two piece units. Frankly, you just don't get as good of a vape on standard cartomizers as LR cartomizers and they can't be used on the minis (KR808- or 510).

Go to Vapor Station and get a sampler kit of juices- 50 ml for $25

Excellent job!! Best of luck with your new kit! I think you'll be really happy with this setup.

Good choice! I think the eGo/Riva's have always been a good "beginner" PV. But I hope more people who suggest it all the time see the rationale that the E-Power has considerable "up-side" over the eGo's due the better and much less costly batteries.

To be completely honest there are two reasons why an e-power doesn't work for me.

First, cone size is incompatible with an eGO - that means no eGO-specific hardware like EMDCCs, Echo-E cartos or Type A or B tanks without using a 510 extender and even then you get exposed threads on the e-power. Purely cosmetic, but it bugs me. Your high-capacity juice options are pretty much limited to stuff you can't use even an e-power cone with.

Second - and this isn't just a problem with an e-power but with all big battery mods, you can't find a USB charger that'll charge more than one battery at a time. That's not the fault of the batteries, just the fact that a USB port can only deliver 500ma. Even if you could find a USB charger that'd charge two 1050mAh batteries at a time it'd take about six months to charge them ;)

That's a minor irritation, though - the lack of options for big juice capacity are kind of a dealbreaker for me. If I'm gonna spend $30 for a MAP tank I might as well stick with the eGO batteries - and big 510 cartos won't fit in the cone (but then they won't on an eGO either).

It all boils down to personal preference. The extra $20 or so a year I spend on batteries for me is a fair trade ;)

But - I respect pretty much everyone's choices, even if they don't make the same choices I do.

I think you are very locked into "eGo" options. There are tons of different attys and cartos that work very well on the E-Power. Those $20 proprietary batteries on the eGo is just a deal breaker for me. I don't want to be locked into one source for batteries that are way over priced. Plus they only have an approximately 150-200 recharge life whereas the E-Power batteries have at least 5 times that number of recharges. Again, the eGo/Riva's work fine but can't see paying the extra money for something I can get for less that works just as well and better in some ways.

I'm really not eGO-centric, honest. I'd buy an e-power in a second if the cones weren't proprietary - and for exactly the reasons you mention - I'd even shut up about the lack of USB charger thing as that's really nitpicking :D

I want something that'll hold enough juice to last me all day and I want a finished appearance - at least if I'm out and about with the thing, which I am at least five days a week. For me that's worth the extra $ I get to spend on batteries ;)

What I would *really* like is something that did use generic batteries that I could screw into this big carto - it ain't the eGO I'm locked into, it's the EMDCC.

At least until the Next Big Thing comes out ;)

Hi All,

I am new here too and this is my first post....I went through and believe still going through the phase a newbie has to go to figure out what exactly they would like, I will describe the short experience i had which might help answer some of the newbie questions...

I used to smoke just over half a pack (10 Analogs) a day and been smoking last 10 years. After 1 weeks research on E-Cigs I finally ordered DSE901 with different flavours to try out. I was looking for some slim device, stylish and portable. Loved Vaping the moment i started vaping. Second day I realised that Short lived battery life and 10 puff worth of cartriges were not for me. I wanted something which can last for a day at least without too much bother so after some more research ordered EGO-T kit which I received yesterday and I really am impressed with Battery and over all experience...

Now as for tobaco flavour, Well I dont care any more. Let me explain, the day I started vaping I quit smoking altogether. Yesterday (after 4 days of vaping) I thought lets try one analog again to feel whats the difference. IT FELT HORRIBLE. The Flavour, The Smoke and Smell etc only three puffs left bad taste in my mouth and weird feeling over all. So once you start vaping you realise how bad smoking is, and fall in love with huge choice of flavours. If i have a choice of liquid replicating exact same flavour and feeling of tobaco smoking, I would not go for it...

Finally we always look for Analog look-alike but I have realised that E-Cigs both DSE901 and now EGO-T there are more stylish and feel great holding them. These are my new gadgets...

Well that is my short experience and every one is different...
