Anyone else had a problem with the VTR battery compartment falling open constantly? If so any easy fixes for them? I have been searching but keep coming up with no results.

Call me confused. The MVP doesn't have a battery compartment, it's an internal battery. Can you clarify?
DOH!!!! Yes VTR my apologies, was reading a review on the MVP and got the letters mixed up.
is the spring for the release even working? or is it stuck?
if it is stuck in the close position, you can try a tiny bit of wd-40, into the hole the pin/clasp retracts into, and then try to move it back and forth by jamming a paper clip in there. Sometime FOD gets stuck in there.

The spring on the door seems to work fine, it is more like it doesn't have enough tension to keep it closed from the slightest of bumps. I will take a puff in the car go to set it down, battery door falls open, battery falls out. I go to pick it up off my desk, it falls open, sitting here watching tv, took a puff went to set it on the floor next to me, door fell open.

yes some people have complained about the spring not being strong enough and having similar problems. I havent had this problem, had my VTR +6 months, and dropped it more than once.. from +16 feet. Battery Door still works.
Yeah, happening often, I found one other but the latch seemed 'broken' but there wasn't much follow up. If you know of any helpful threads on this that would be a big help!
Unfortunately, not a good option as simple as that is. I travel a lot (planes) and don't have extra room to pack a large roll of tape.
