Well for my part I use more PG than VG. There does seem to be a lot of enthusiasm for max VG juice and it seems the big hot thing for a lot of people, but then I never was one to run with the herd. I think at least part of the max VG craze is about cloud chasing. You get bigger clouds with the major VG juices, but in fact it's the PG that carries the flavor, so it's a matter of your priorities.

What I've been making for going on 3 years now is all I vape, and I use 42 ml PG, and 30 ml VG in a 100 ml batch. The rest is flavors and nic. I'm very contented with this :)

Thanks for the info as I am trying to decide if I really want to get into DIY'ing and doing the research on what kind of starter kit to go with. Some are complete some you add the liquids. Do you cook or steep your recipes>

Well when I first started I was thinking that everything in the mix would mix better if it were heated, so I'd put the Erlenmeyer flasks in a pot of water and warm them on the stove before stirring them well. Over time I learned that isn't at all necessary, and all I really needed to do was administer the good old turbo-stir in the beaker, decant it into the Erlenmeyer flasks, and set it aside to steep. In fact I think it makes the juice darker if you heat it, and as we know, darker juices gunk up coils pretty quick. IDK, my juice is pretty dark either way, I do love my RY4 :)

Sometimes I make up to a half liter of juice at a time, but right now I have 300 ml of it that's been steeping for two months and I wanted to see how that turned out.

RY4 Huh? Tobacco with caramel and vanilla?

Weeeelllll... I think it's really more of a caramel attempt at approximating tobacco. When I started out I did my very best to find juice that tasted like my Morleys, but never did. There were lots of juices named like that, but not one of them really cut it. When I started DIY I worked out just what tasted good, and got close enough, and I'm pretty happy with the result. It's better than anything I ever got from the B&M's.

Oh! And also, be mindful that how your DIY tastes is very dependent on what you are vaping it in. I used to try juices in the B&M's that tasted good, in their little clearo testers, and tasted really bad in my sub-ohm gennies. 2/10's of an ohm can make a real difference in flavor.

Question for you DIY'ers:
Do you use more VG than PG in your recipes? I am looking into DIY'ing and most starter kits I am considering come with equal amounts of both. If I mix 70% to 80% VG I am figuring on having a lot left over of the PG. Is this you experience in your DIY adventures? Thanks in advance!

I only use vg in mine with the exception of the PG that's in my flavorings, I don't really like pg plus I couldn't find it very easily even though I know you can get it at a tractor Co I just wouldn't Need that much!!

I need help, not sure if this is where I'm supposed to post this but I just got loranns cinnamon roll, they didn't have the cream cheese icing and I but the bigger bottle. It needs help. I added some balvarian cream but I really was wanting to know since I have that can I add a butter flavor and that balvarian cream to make my own icing taste to it? Since frosting is basically butter and vanilla. I know the risks of butter n I don't really care...lol so I just want to know if anyone can help with this, this cinnamon roll needs a lot of help..

I seldom use PG... Wife has an allergic reaction, pimples on her neck & mouth area, if juice is over 50% PG.

I use 50/50 mix of 100mg nic, and of course there's PG in the flavors. But nic & flavor accounts for usually 10-15%, so my brews are max VG.

That said, I do mix an occasional 50/50 blend for myself with the same recipes. Higher PG ratios enhance the flavor quite a bit.

You folks have me so intrigued about DIY e-Liquids I am looking at DIY starter kits like at Liquid Barn. How are these kits? Supposedly all you need to get started from Gloves to Labware.
Ya know, I got all sorts of beakers, graduated cylinders, hypos in every size with different luloc tips, rubber gloves, all kinds of labware ..... And never use it.

I use one 5ml hypo. Rinse between flavors. PG I squirt in last directly from a bottle. Usually fill up 10-12 30ml bottles, of which most are my adv, a few bottles I make different flavors for a change-up.

Hey guys.
MattOHM here. Just like to say that I'm looking forward to being a part of this community of fellow vapors and DIYers.
I have had many inquiries as to DIYing flavors and most have been answered by simply browsing this site. I have found many new recipes I'm going to try in the near future. Most of the members seem very helpful as well as knowledgeable on many levels of the creation of juice and cloning pre-existing "shop" flavors.
But with that being said, I am looking for a little help with a particular juice that I have become rather fond of.

Charlie's Chalk Dust Wonder Worm.

One of my favorite juices that I use in my Sub OHM set up. Great flavor and vapor production all around.
I'm wondering if anyone has successfully cloned this particular juice and if so, what is the info?
Recipe?
Ingredients?
Sources where the flavors and the ingredients where purchased(looking for good quality products) such as where you get your VG, PG, Flavors, etc.
Any and all suggestions or supplied information with be extremely helpful.

As well I am very excited about becoming a part of this group due to the wealth of knowledge that dwells here.
Thank you.

Can you PM me the flavor profile of Wonder Worm?

I also started my DIY adventure with the hope of cloning my favorite store bought juice. I never accomplished it but I have made several things along the way that I really like. :) And a few that ended up going down the drain. o_O

Good luck and enjoy the journey.

PM the flavor you are trying to recreate please.

Instead of trying to reproduce the recipe try cutting the original with unflavored DIY. A brother of mine is cutting his favorite liquid 2 parts to one part and he says it tastes the same. The next mix he's going to try 3 parts to one part and that will probably work too.

I do that as well. Most of them work out to where I can make a total of 4 -30 mls with one premade. Just split the premade into quarters. The most part of that is waiting the week for them to blend fully.

I started with the measuring stuff, but I ended up just pouring the stuff in 125ml bottles. A typical mix goes like this:

1. Clean the empty bottle.
2. Add whatever flavor, usually about .3" high on bottle
3. Add 1.8% nicotine mix, about 1/6th of height.
4. Fill to top with VG
5. Shake.

No fancy measuring, no spill, no funnels, takes about 2 minutes. Suppose it could be done accurately on a scale, but it doesn't really matter for me.

Now I have some fun work to do... Have to mix this 10% nic stuff I got in the mail down to 1% so I can just put 1/4 of that in the bottle... (for .25% or 2.5 mg/ml).

To keep it interesting, I buy flavors, pure, online and in B&M shops. Usually 125ml of it. I just keep adding so I can make cranberry cream, whatever. I do like the cigar flavorings also.

I think there is about 10 liters of stuff in the other room, not even $200 bucks worth, so vaping is really cheap if you mix it all up yourself. I buy most products from e-liq dot com. Sometimes from a B&M I'll pick up some VG and flavors. It works.

This morning, I'm vaping a cream and cigar mix. Tastes odd, but I only put a few drops of the cream in the tank. Enjoy DIY!
