Hi all.

I'm a new member here but I've been vaping for three years.

Just need a bit of a rant.

I hate eliquid. Actually hate it. In three years I've found a few adv liquids. But obviously as with all liquid if you vape it enough it changes taste entirely.

A say I've found a few. I mean two. Two liquids I can actually vape.

In three years I've spent 4-5k on eliquid. 99% of it taste zero like the description and is generally rank. Which leaves me 1%. Of that 1% 95% just wrecks my throat due to harshness.

I vape 3mg either 70 or 80% VG in a lemo 2/subtank/crown at 1.2ohms.

My two adv were different custards. I'm now down to one as one now just taste like off milk. I've tried leaving it for a few months but nope.

So over the weekend I wasted yet more money on eliquid. 5 different flavours. One taste awful. The others are nice flavours but are killing my throat. So I'm stuck with this one liquid knowing full well sooner or later it'll turn on me. And I know it will because I have nothing else to vape to break it up.

I have for all the time I've vaped kept searching for new liquid so I can have a range of liquids to vape. It just doesn't work and I'm now just sick to death of wasting money.

I've tried American liquids. UK liquids. European liquids. Been to every local vape shop and tried every liquid available in those. Tried flavourless (what's the point), don't like tobacco. Never found a single fruit vape that wasn't harsh.

I have great mods and tanks all sat here empty because I've got nothing to put in them.

I make my own coils, I wick with cotton bacon v2. I know it's not my gear.

Maybe it's the nicotine causing the harshness? But when doesn't it do it in my usual adv? I always order 3mg nic.

I no nobody can actually help here I really just wanted to have a bit of a rant about eliquid.

Surely I can't be the only vaper who's in this predicament?

Sorry for the essay there!

Hi all.

Nope. I thought I was going to have to live with disappointment. Then I went to unflavored. It's not exciting, but it's okay and never disappoints. In spite of being unflavored, it does have its own hard to describe taste, which I've heard varies from one brand to another.

I have had a nearly identical experience so far. I finally found 2 and have been diy'ing them for over a year. I still haven't recovered the money I wasted trying dozens of vendors and many more dozens of "flavors". I have an idea that the years of smoking have killed my sense of taste. I switch between a simple wintergreen/spearmint mix, and a vanilla butternut/butter pecan mix. I figure at 7 cents a mil, I will eventually get back the money I wasted chasing the mythical adv.

Thank god I'm not the only one!

I'm allergic to strawberry and Cherry flavourings too. Which doesn't help as there's a ton of strawberry liquids.

Mint/menthol doesn't agree with me either. Which is a shame because I found a really great soft mint liquid that I actually really enjoyed but it kept making me ill.

I know that seems awkward but even if you remove strawberry cherry and mint there's still a massive plethora of liquids of there. And surely after three years I should have found more than two that are actually vapable.

Ps. Yes I realise the common denominator is me haha. I'd absolutely love to not be so fussy. I eat anything and everything. So I'm not generally a fussy person.

Thanks but I don't have the inclination to DIY. Plus I'd just end up wasting cash in concentrates instead of premade. Yes it would be cheaper. But not by much.
I was gonna suggest diy'ing also and Vaperstek no throat hit nicotine, but here's a vendor that offers both max vg and a no throat hit nicotine option :

I don't know if this could help, I don't care for the super thick flavored juices. I use Nude Nicotine, which is unflavored, and mix in small amounts of the only flavor I like. Have you tried anything like that? Basically cutting flavored juice with unflavored. I still get tons of flavor from the " light " juice.

I would also suggest Unflavored. It does have its own very light sweet taste but not to dramatic. I have been DIYing for a while now and still mainly use my Unflavored about 75% of the day. Even now as I type this while at home with 89 different flavors I could mix on a whim, what flavor....unflavored. It really helps out when flavored just doesn't seem to be on par. Even with my spot on mixes. Some of the time, it is just better to get what you want from the device, Nicotine. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately the only way you're gonna consistently get a nic level under 3mg is doing some DIY yourself, even if it's just diluting pre-mixed flavors.

Although I suppose there are vendors out there you could specially request a lower nic level from if they mix on-demand.

Yeah I know. To be honest I started vaping to quit smoking.

I very quickly got caught up in the hobby side of vaping. Now if I leave home for the day and forget to pick up my vape I don't bat an eye lid. I don't have a panic and worry how I'll get through the day with no nicotine or worry that I'll end up buying a packet of cigarettes. I barely even think I about it. I just enjoy my day and have a vape when I get home.

Basically I don't think quitting nicotine completely will be as hard as quitting vaping itself if that makes sense.

I've met lots of people through vaping. Spend a lot of time of forums and groups etc etc. vaping has become a hobby.

That's why I'm torn.

Yeah that makes sense. If that's the case maybe you should just try some zero nic flavors. If that is indeed the culprit for why you find so many flavors harsh, at least then you can actually start enjoying your vapes. Treat it like a beer or glass of wine at the end of the day, instead of a smoking replacement.

That's my thinking.

Do I carry on vaping 0nic and treat it like a hobby. Or try to quit altogether.

I'll probably go with the latter. But I'll give it a few days thought first.

The aim at the time of taking up vaping was to use it as an aid to completely quit altogether.

But vaping itself has now become a hobby and I'm not sure I want to quit that just yet.
