There's some excellent advice given in this thread. I started with a cigarette look alike myself and was disappointed in the performance. My goal wasn't to actually quit smoking, but I just wanted something I could use in the house because we have a "no indoor smoking" clause in our lease. I was almost ready to just give up until I found this forum. I bought a Riva kit, got some good juice and quit smoking the same day that I got my kit. I'm one of the lucky "accidental quitters" here.

vaping is a very personal experience and it takes a bit of experimentation to find the right PV, the right nicotine level and the right flavors. All three things combined will equal success in making the switch. Even people who have the same PVs may not vape them the same way; there are just so many ways to make it "perfect" for you.

Good luck on your vaping journey and welcome to the ECF family!

I just picked up a disposable to give it a try (its called "square cigarette") it's about the size of a pen and it is 18mg based. Aaaaaand I'm in trouble. It just doesn't do it for me... at its best it can limit the amount of cigarettes that I crave, but when it comes to completely replacing analogs, as of right now it seems an impossibility.

So here were are, roughly a month later. You mentioned this thread in another one, which means you're still around the forums, and you're apparently still vaping.

I wanna hear the story. Are you off the cigs? What PV did you get?

I posted a reply to you earlier in the thread. I'll give my own update - I haven't had a cig for roughly 40 hours. For me, that's huge.

ah, yes you bumped it for me! I am off of analogs for about a month now! and 40 hours is awesome! The beginning seemed to be the toughest so you're well on your way!

I am a very happy camper, and I partly took everyone's suggestion since I got a small 510, and not the ego / riva alternative but hey I was always a bit stubborn :p

First two days with a 510 carto setup I already was feeling confident, even though I was finishing my pack of cigs at the time. Well that was the last pack i bought.

Thank you all for the reassuring replies and I am now ready to return the favor for the next influx of miserable noobs :p:vapor:

If you'd like to give the eGo a try, I strongly recommend this one: Genuine Joye 1000mAh XL eGo Battery w/USB (510, passthrough) - The VaporCast Store

It's only $22.50 but it has a VERY long lasting 1000mAH battery that charges via a mini-USB port so you can vape while it is charging. The eGo has the same 510 connection so it will work with the cartomizers you already have, but you might want to try some dual coil cartomizers (pack of 5 for $10 at the same site here: (5-pack) Dual Coil Low Resistance (1.5 ohm) 510 XL Cartomizer - The VaporCast Store )..."low resistance" means that it draws more power and shouldn't be used with "mini" 510 batteries, but they work well on bigger batteries like the eGo.

Congrats on 30 days smoke-free! :vapor:

Someone pointed this out to me earlier tonight - and when Thulium quoted that little piece, it reminded me of the video. :)
