Hi everyone!!

I recently put down the Marlboro Lights after 20 years of smoking!! The thing about smoking......I love to smoke. I quit several times over the years just to go back because I really missed it. During the last year I tried many times to make the transition to ecigs but just couldn't make the njoys and Blu cigs work for me. I just wasn't getting the real "feel" from them in comparison to my normal Marlboros. Each time I would try them I would go right back to my smokes within a few days if not hours.

Well...I noticed a few guys at work puffing on these devices that didn't look like what I was doing before. They were bigger and refillable and one of the guys told me all about it and where he got it and I was truly intrigued!! He said he got his kit and juice from a vape shop called "Avail Vapor" which happened to be near where I lived. I immediately went there on my day off and picked up the same kit he had been using. When I walked in they had a lot of flavors I could try out. Unfortunately most of their testers were either dead or not giving a good hit so I was only able to taste a few of them.

I grabbed one bottle of juice and the kit and tried to start my addiction......that did not last long as I had one problem after another with the device which just a rebranded eVOD. The little guy just didn't have the punch I was looking for and the ....ty atomizer leaked all the time. I tried three of them!

To make this long story short I ended up with an iTaste MVP2 with the iClear 30 tank and LOVED IT!!! I was getting the hits I was searching for and was definitely seeing an increase in vapor production. I soon grew bored of the iClear tank and switched up to the Aspire Nautilus after absorbing every review I could possibly watch about the best of the best!!

I'm definitely loving the vapor production from this Nautilus!! I haven't had too many issues with the BDC, but I will be getting the BVC when I order more coils because peeps say they are the best!!

I tell inquisitive people that it is the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to this and smoking cigarettes. I just hope I made the right choice....not sure why I question that, but to me there are still a lot of unknowns about what this "vaping" will do to us in the long run. I definitely don't want what smoking does to me. so like I said.....lesser of 2 evils!!

Questions I have not been able to answer when asked is..."What is in the "vapor"? If it's water vapor shouldn't it dissipate immediately? Are you sure PG or VG don't vaporize into a carcinogen? These questions I don't really have the answers for....hard to sell this to others if I don't the right answers.

Well....so far this has been working out great! I feel great and am now looking at more powerful mods and RDAs. Just not sure if I feel like cloud chasing!!!

Juice that I vaping right now is "Jezebel" from Seduce Juice. 50/50 mix with 12mg nicotine. My goal is to drop to 0mg Nicotine to clear myself of that nasty ....!!

Congrats on quitting smoking. Sorry I can't answer your questions as I'm new to the vaping world as well. I'll take a look at Seduce Juice, thanks. It's really fun to try different liquids from some of the companies. Thanks for the reviews here I've purchased from Halo, Mt. Baker Vapor, Alien Visions, Backyards Brew, and Nicoticket. Some really nice stuff.

Welcome and congrats on quitting! I was like you and loved smoking so could never have quit, glad I found a 'safer' way to continue my habit. There is lot of different information about whats in the vapor and I think that just means we need more studies done! It's certainly not just water vapor, some say it's the PG, VG and Nicotine some say the flavourings break down into other chemicals. Im sure someone who knows far more than me will comments. The only thing I would say is that it must be better than analogs!

If you want to know more search google for studies, be warned though you have to be able to tell if the info you are reading is bias or balanced. There is a vid on youtube called 'e-cigarettes what we know so far' it is an hour long lecture from a London University. It is very balanced and easy to understand.

Good luck and vape on!

Welcome krobeson :) Hopefully a tiny bit of comfort, but if I'm not mistaken, PG is used frequently in inhalers to carry medication such as albuterol. *MY* personal feeling is that makes it a little less scary when thinking about what one might be inhaling. And, compared to the hundreds/thousands of other chemicals in cigarettes, I'm going to take my chances on a little PG/VG.....

I was a smoker for over 25 years. I like the flavor of vapes better :D My clothes don't smell; my breath doesn't smell (like smoke); my car and my house don't smell like dirty ashtrays; my sinuses are clearer than they've been in years; not hacking up a lung every morning......

I'll pays my money and takes my chances with this - I don't have to remember to take a pill every morning or put on a patch (as it really wasn't the nicotine habit, but more the "hand to mouth") I have been vaping for over 5 months now, and I have actually LOST some weight (since I'm not snacking to replace the cig habit.)

I wish you well, and hope you find the answers you seek :)

Welcome from another quitter of the nasty Marlboro sticks. 16 years of smoking were eliminated just over a year ago for me. I basically followed the same path to quitting as you did.

I also recently picked up an Aspire Nautilus Mini, and it's absolutely fabulous compared to my previous DCT Cartomizer tanks.

As far as what the effects of vaping are, there are lots of short-term studies and reports, and all skew to the positive in comparison to cigarette smoking.

My personal experience has been that I can now breathe, smell, exercise, and sleep much better than when I smoked. Oh, and I have at least $100 extra dollars a month, too!

Welcome aboard!

Hello, welcome, and congrats on making the switch Krobeson. I can tell you this about vaping, since starting, I have been able to quit using my 3 inhalers and a nebulizer to help me breathe. I no longer wheeze, cough, or feel like crap when I wake up. I haven't had one chest cold since I started vaping and that was always a given for me every year. I stayed sick when I smoked and now I'm free of it. Good luck to you in your vaping journey and keep us posted on how you're doing! :vapor:

Ps. I smoked for 32 years and tried everything to quit to no avail. I smoked 2pks/day full flavor. Vaping has been like a miracle for me.

Reading all these replies helps *me* know that I am on the right track and I believe this time I can put the analogs down for good. So glad I found this forum!

Welcome aboard DTL33 :) This forum is my home away from home (and even my home at home :D)

Don't know how long you've been in the game, but if there's anything you need help with - you just have to ask.... Moral support, technical support, just a general chat - let us know....

Thanks for the many replies guys!!! I'm still doing it and I'm actually liking it a lot more!!! I just can't find that one flavor that blows me away. I do plan on investing in a Vaporshark rDNA and also dabbling in the RTAs and RDAs. Looks like that might be the only way for me to get that FULL flavor I'm looking for. I can taste my flavors....don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have the "POW" like I hear everyone say they get with vaping.

I also noticed that I was not a lung hitter when I smoked. I was a mouth to lung hitter. Now that I'm vaping lung hits seems to be the norm for me now. Well...anyways....thanks for the warm welcome and I'll see you guys around the boards!!!
