I am a long time smoker, and have decided to try e-cigs as a healthier alternative. My sister has purchased a SmokerEverywhere Gold, and paid what I felt was a LOT of money for it. I started researching, and discovered this site. I had read many of the reviews here and on other sites, and had decided on the Volcano or the Sideshow. In visiting the website, I discovered the black pack is out of stock, and didn't want to go through what I have read others have in dealing with the Blu.
My question is, should I order the Sideshow, or wait until the Volcano is back in stock? From everything I have seen, Volcano has really good customer service.
As a newbie to "vaping" (didn't even know the term until I started my research), what I want is something as close to analogs as possible. Ease of use is more important to me than cost (within reason), so I am not sure I will be "dripping or dipping" until I learn more. I work in a hospital long hours and busy pace, so I won't have time for a lot of steps.
Requesting advice from more experienced vapors. thanks:confused:

You don't seem to be averse to tinkering and dripping, so the Joye 510 may be right for you, and it's not expensive. However, you also say that ease of use is important, and I think you're saying that because you work long shifts, you need something that can keep up without needing attention. That sort of rules out the 510, I think.

I would recommend a KR808D-1. I got mine from Vapor4Life - the Vapor King. The XL batteries last 6-8 hours, and the cartomizers just screw on and are good for a long time; either half a day or a whole day, depending upon your vaping habits. With the Ultimate Ultimatum kit you get both a carrying case for 2 spare batteries (not the XL's) and 2 or 4 cartos. You also get the PCC, which is a charging case. You charge it up on your computer then it's good for 4-5 re-charges - again, on the regular sized batteries.

I'm making the assumption that you don't have time or privacy during the workday to mess around with filling cartos or dripping.

You don't say what your priorities are re: the actual vaping experience. If vapor volume is your #1 wish, you should go with the Joye 510 - or the Vapor King with VG cartos. If flavor and throat hit are most important, I'd recommend the Vapor King.

Whichever model you choose, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy they make it to stay off the cigarettes. Good luck!

With ease of use being your top concern, I would recommend a two-piece model. The 510 is very popular but it's three-piece and involves more upkeep. The KR808 is awfully easy; there are lots of flavors in cartomizers to choose from, and the batteries last tons of time (esp. compared to the 510).

I started with a 510 but have retired it in favor of the KR808.

It can be ordered from Nhaler.com (ECF supplier of the year!!); the Vapor4Life subforum is also a great place to read about them and has lots of supplies and good flavors (branded as "Vapor King").

Good luck!

Stick with time-tested basic devices like the 901 or 801. Use cartridges - prefilled or those filled by you - as they are easy to swap out. Have a few extra atomizers and batteries on hand. Keep the batteries charged. If you are working a ten or twelve hour shift, have at least four batteries ready to go. To save wear on your batteries, get a USB passthrough for use when you are around a USB port. The passthrough will provide power to your atomizer instead of a battery.

At least four batteries? Why on earth would you recommend an e-cig that needs 4+ batteries to cover a 10-12 hour shift? Those are some lousy batteries!

I'm really curious. Is there something about the 901 and 801 that makes it somehow worth it?

If you are a moderate to heavy vaper, you could realistically go through 2-4 batteries in a twelve hour period. The typical screw-in batteries of most basic e-cigs do not last very long.

Rather than confuse a new vaper with the world of high mAh batteries and custom-type devices that utilize these batteries, I chose to direct the OP to time-tested, popular devices that just plain work. If the OP finds that a 901 or 801 is not satisfying a specific need, then this information will help the OP identify a future purchase.

I think it is useful to move from basic devices to understand all the stuff posted on this forum. Once you get a handle on operating a basic, automatic e-cig (minus the mindeless cart mods, cleaning procedures and other noise), you come to appreciate the wonderful simplicity of vaping as originally developed. You can always move on if the 'basic' does not 'float your boat'.

If you want a true Joye 510 LiteCigUsa is a great choice. If you want a few things to go along with the Joye 510, a spare atty, PCC, PassThrough, blank carts etc, you will save money over buying at CigNot, plus you can get the Stainless Steel kit and atties. Also note LiteCigUSA's rave reviews and feedback on this forum.

If you just need replacement atties a 3 pack of Joye 510's is cheaper than CigNot and ships for free.

They also carry the KR808D-1 two piece with equally great prices.

I also work in a hospital, and I am guessing that there is no way you will be able to go through even 2 batteries per shift. The hospital where I work only allows 2 breaks per shift, plus your half hour for lunch. Even if you stealth vape in a bathroom, and spend your entire lunch period vaping, I would think 2 batteries would be enough. So just make sure you have a PCC, for your spare battery and carts and you should be fine.

This of course is assuming that you will not be in a room by yourself all day, where you could constantly vape. I averaged about 11 or 12 analogs from the time I left for work, until I got home. (8 hour shift) 2 batteries should easily get you through a 10 or 12 hour shift especially if both are fully charged at the beginning of the shift.

Hope this helps. Oh I have a Joye 510 which came with 2 batts, 2 atty's several carts, 2 eliquids, and a pcc. Cignot is where I purchased my starter kit.

I have to agree with breakfastchef. The 510 has very short battery life and requires constant filling. I really believe the Penstyle model would work quite well for you. Batteries last longer, carts are considerably larger and do not require as much attention. AND ... they produce just as much vapor with better flavor than the 510.

You guys are GREAT! So much advice - I am so excited to start vaping! OK - I went online and placed my first (and I'm sure not last) order. I know all you serious vapers(spelling?LOL) seem to stay away from the "branded" items, but I went ahead and ordered the Sidesho Hybrid Kit - because - it came with both a manual and automatic battery, so I can give both a try
- I ordered both pre-filled and blank carts, as well as a couple of juices, one of which is named after my current analog brand.
- The PCC seems like it will be a favorite accessory of mine, so handy.
- Besides the PCC, both wall and USB chargers included.
- Really cool choices of colors, I ordered some pink carts, how girlie!
My hospital job does include an office, so I can have a chance to "vap" at work - I can't wait! Hopefully, you guys can help me advance in my knowledge. Thanks:thumbs:
